Oh man that's tough, I saw new images and scans of another recovered tridactyl type, creepy looking! But I think for me it's the first two layers of architecture. Peru can basically be split into 3 layers of stonework: First World: Direct carving into living bedrock, sacred outcrops, cliff faces, and natural promontories sculpted into thrones, stairways, niches, and reservoirs. Second World: Multi-ton cyclopean blocks, precision-cut joinery, polygonal fitting, anti-seismic interlocks, and often granite or andesite, hard stones requiring knowledge beyond bronze chisels. Third World: Smaller stones, less uniform, shaped with hammerstones and bronze tools, bound with mud or mortar. Functional, fast, and adequate for empire-building but lacking the older finesse. The first and second worlds fascinates me, with the first being one of the most intriguing they were not building buildings, they were carving sacred spaces into bedrock, "doors" and altars, what was their purpose? Local legends speak of portals... I'm tempted to believe them!
