*Not Pats related* I was listening to the press conferences on NFL Network. Aaron Rodgers: "This league has changed a lot in my 21 years. When you hear conversations about the Mike Tomlins & Matt LaFleur's of the world ... When I first got in the league there wouldn't be conversation about whether those guys were on the hot seat. But the way the league is covered now, the way that there's snap decisions and the validity given to the Twitter experts and all the experts on TV now who make seem like they know what the hell they're talking about, to me that's an absolute joke."

The ESPN draft crew's reaction when Rece Davis mentioned the Vrabel/Russini situation 😭😭😭

Richard Sherman asked Mike Vrabel about the Pats defense and taking some other team's castoffs and "breathing new life into them" Vrabel: "Well it's a testament to them ... They take the coaching, they take the hard coaching, they take the constant coaching. We tell them we're going to coach the hell out of them Monday-Saturday, then Sunday is their day to go play and let it loose and they have. We have a lot of guys that have taken advantage of opportunities, when you do that you earn more opportunities. We got great leadership at all 3 levels of the defense, I'm proud the way their play. Sometimes we give up the first drive of the game, then we go 3 & out for 6 more series, so they learn quickly and adjust."

This was great from Mike Vrabel. Ryan Fitzpatrick asked him how much fun he's having coaching this team Vrabel: "A lot! My youngest son's the same age as Drake and I'm thinking 'My God am I old. I'm 50'. And it's just so much fun because, these guys are experiencing a lot of these things for the first time. I forget that sometimes, I forget that our left side of our OL is 21 & 22 years old and our QB 23, and it's like 'Ok well there's gonna be a lot of firsts for this program". I tell them 'Hey this is new for us. Let's attack this, let's understand what this looks like' and they've responded and taken the coaching every day."

Tom Brady talked a lot about pass protection on that last Bills drive: Brady on 2nd & 9: "Bad protection adjustment there by Josh Allen ... He's in control of protections, he wants the line to account for a blitzing linebacker, but he picked the wrong choice. That's Josh's responsibility to get that protection straightened out." Brady after 2nd & 18: "It's pretty interesting the protection schemes that Joe Brady & this offense have used today. They're sending a lot of 5 man eligible receivers out into their routes today, which leaves you often times one on one with this pass rush .... They're [Eagles] putting pressure on Allen, and the Bills haven't quite adjusted to this kinda frenetic style of pass rush the Eagles have had today." Brady after 3rd & 15: "Look at these tackles ... It's a meeting at the QB. This is called throwing out of a well. You can't step up, can't go right, can't go left ... No way for a QB to be able to make accurate throws consistently."

From ESPN's 2005 NFL Draft coverage: Andrea Kremer brought up the incident when Randy Moss walked off the field with 2 seconds left, Vikings down 21-18 @ Washington (back on 1/2/05). Mike Vrabel defended Moss -- 2 years later they're teammates, setting records & going undefeated in the regular season!

From A Football Life: Wes Welker's HS coach reached out to 105 colleges on behalf of Wes Welker ... Only 1 school responded: Texas Tech Football (Thanks to Tommy McVay). Mike Leach was on the phone with McVay discussing whether to offer Welker a scholarship ... In front of Welker 🤣 By the end of Welker's Texas Tech career, he was Tech's all-time leader in: - Catches (259) - Receiving Yards (3,069) - *Punt Return Yards (1,761 - also NCAA record) - Punt Return TDs (8 - a then NCAA record) - All Purpose Yards (5,730) * = still the all-time leader From the "little kid from Oklahoma City", to one of the greatest slot receivers we've ever seen. Incredible journey!

Whenever Super Bowl 49 is talked about, everyone mentions Malcolm Butler's game-ending INT (for good reason, it's one of the greatest plays in NFL history) but I feel like his 2nd half as a whole isn't talked about as much as it should be. Butler played 18 snaps in the 2nd half (13 coverage snaps vs Jermaine Kearse & Ricardo Lockette): • Allowed 2 catches on 6 targets (33.3%) • Allowed 39 yards (33 of those yards came from one of the unluckiest plays ever when what should've been a Butler PBU turned into a Kearse catch) • 0 TD-1 INT • 2 Pass Breakups • 17.4 rating Just an unbelievable 2nd half & INT from an undrafted rookie!! 🫡 Malcolm CB Butler #NEPats

From NFL Live: Mina Kimes on Drake Maye- "I think the highest compliment I can pay him, other than saying he's the MVP frontrunner, he's 23 yrs old and he's already in that very small group of QBs that there's things you just can't do. You can't blitz Drake Maye, best in the league. You can't give him too much time, throws over 2.5 seconds best in the league in just about every metric. The Giants played a ton of single high and he absolutely annihilated it (12-13 for 170+ yds)..." #Patriots

Mike Vrabel in his Introductory Press Conference back in Janurary: "Our goals will be to win the AFC East, to host home playoff games, and to compete for championships ... That's going to be the expectations, and we're going to work like crazy, we're going to compete like crazy, we're going to give the players a plan, and they're going to form an identity on the field in the way that we're going to play and play for each other that they're going to be proud of. We just want to be good enough to take advantage of bad football..." ✅ Won the AFC East ✅ Host a home playoff game ✅ Took advantage of bad football All in his first season as HC in New England! 🔥 #Patriots

From SportsCenter -- Dan Graziano on Bill Belichick not being a First Ballot HOFer: "It's embarrassing. If I were a member of the Pro Football HOF voting body I'd be embarrassed about it and I'd make it very clear that I wasn't 1 of the 11+ who deiced not to vote for him .... You're gonna tell me Spygate & Deflategate, this is a voting body that has for years insisted that it only focuses on what happened on the field. Are you gonna hold Tom Brady out for Spygate & Deflategate too? And by the way, there's guys in there that have been suspended for PEDs, gambling, for all kinds of things. So now, when it comes to Belichick, it matters and it's never mattered before... I think it's a crock."

Milton Williams was asked about hearing about the Broncos OL leading up to the AFC Championship: "Yeah I heard that all week. I don't care about numbers and all that whatever. We gotta go out there and we gotta play. All this stuff don't matter, you get between them lines then we'll see what's gonna happen. So cut the tape on and see what happened today." REAL DAWG! 🔥 #NEPats

PATRIOTS @ GIANTS WEEK 17, 1996 -- The Comeback! A few storylines entering this game: • Bill Parcells' returns to New York to face the Giants for the 1st time • Pats entered the game 10-5 needing a win to secure a 1st round bye in the playoffs • A win gives the Pats their first 11 win season since '86 With all that - The Pats fell behind 22-0 at halftime to a 6-9 Giants team ... But then pulled off an incredible comeback, scoring 23 unanswered in a 23-22 win! Drew Bledsoe- 1st half: 12-20, 64 yds, 0 TD-2 INT 2nd half: 19-27, 237 yds, 2 TD-0 INT Pats 2nd half Defense: Punt, Punt, Punt, Punt, INT, Punt, Downs! Key Plays: • 0:56 - 2:03 = Back-to-back Bledsoe to Glenn 30+ yard completions. 2nd catch gave Glenn the rookie record for receptions in a season • 2:22 = Should've been a Glenn catch but they ruled it incomplete (there was no replay in the NFL from '91-98) • 3:23 = Bledsoe DIME to Glenn for the 26 yard TD • 4:25 = Dave Meggett's 60 yard punt return TD • 5:13 = Otis Smith's INT • 6:21 = Troy Brown's RIDICULOUS 3rd down catch • 7:06 = Bledsoe to Coates GW TD on 4th down!
