Murder Game 致命潮汐 [2026] Directed By: Bo Yin When I saw this listed and it has A Yixia AKA Aisha (But listed as Arya in this film). Who co-star with one of the people's favorites in the Chinese action space, Yang Xing earlier this year with "The Raid" Was very interested because one, she looks very similar to Joyce Gondenzi (The lady in black) and two this film also has Temur Mamisashvili, who is part of the Jackie Chan Stunt team. So, what we get in this film, pure DTV chaos of fun for 60mins. Bad CGI of greatness and a wild de-aging part when she is being trained as a child, Lip fillers everywhere, hot girls doing assassin hits and so on. Is on iQIYI. Have fun.

The Black Panther Warriors黑豹天下 [1993] Directed By: Clarence Fok (Credited as Clarence Ford) Very fun era in Hong Kong Cinema where the creativity by directors such as Yuen Woo-Ping, Ching Siu Tung & Clarence Fok was pushing genre of action to new heights from a visual and choreography approach. With elements usually seen in the Wuxia genre with the wire work. Some of these directors started using that approach for hand to hand combat and combining it at times with gunplay. Giving us action fans a dynamic visual experience that is very reminiscent of what we saw in comic and manga panels.

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad [2008] Directed By: Yôhei Fukuda While many people are familiar with the XBOX 360 game (Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad), which was the first to be released in the states the series dates back to the PS2 era starting in 2004 with Simple 2000 Series Vol. 61: The OneeChanbara. Which was released under the titled "Zombie Zone" in Europe the following year. This live action adaption was very much on brand on what was happening with the horror action scene in Japan with the likes of Tokyo Gore Police and Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl.

Hard Boiled [1992] Directed By: John Woo Comparison between the Shout 4K disc and ARROW 4K disc. ARROW nailed it. I told ya to wait. There are other details too like the Shout disc having noise and other stuff that has been broken down on the Blu-Ray forums. ARROW has better subs, color, artwork by Tony Stella amazing booklet with writing by priscilla page and a bunch of other stuff as well.

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky 力王 [1991] Directed By: Lam Nai-Choi This is captured from the amazing 88 Films Ltd. 4K UHD release of this film with massive improvements over the previous Blu-Ray, especially the night scenes. Film looks insanely incredible now. One of the best manga adaptions out there. If only Lam Nai-Choi did Fist of The North Star. Copies are still available over at OrbitDVD with a one per customer limit.

The Furious [2026] Directed By: Kenji Tanigaki Xie Miao, also known as Mo Tse, was part of two iconic films with Jet Li. New Legend Of Shaolin and My Father The Hero. Very well received films within the genre. He took a break to focus on his studies after his childhood acting career and did a few films after like the Champions in 2008 but after the late 2K10s he went back at full force and one of the most notable films are the Eye For An Eye franchise. Which in the second film he co-stars with Yang Enyou, who happens to be in this film as well. What makes this film special is the Hong Kong and Japanese connection. So, seeing Kensuke Sonomura choreograph traditional Chinese martial arts his eye opening and away from his comfort zone but still keeping his brawler aesthetic which he is known for which usually he flavors boxing and BJJ. With notable legends in this film like Joe Taslim, Yayan Ruhian and JeeJa Yanin where people might recognize this Thai actress from Chocolate we were sure to get a banger and we sure did. Especially from the amazing output form Brain Le and Joey Iwanaga.

This is also the same director that gave us that amazing 80s gem Go For Broke! [1985] This scene is an absolute gem. Homeboy gets chopped, his homies find him and after that it doesn't transition to a scene of dialog on how to get revenge, nah, straight to it instead.

Mortal Kombat [1995] Directed By: Paul W.S. Anderson Captured from the 4K UHD from Arrow Video that drops on June 30th via MVD Entertainment that also includes ANNIHILATION. But yes, the Reptile scene with Liu Kang (Robin Shou) is one of the many highlights in the film next to the iconic soundtrack in Mortal Kombat. This 4K restoration it was beautifully done by Arrow Video. One thing for sure, nothing beats actual sets.
