Misiorowski: 2025 (left) vs. 2026 (right) mechanics -He's been averaging nearly 2 mph harder on his fastball over his last handful of starts compared to last year. -His K/BB has almost doubled: from 2.81 to 5.41 this year, reflecting much better command. What you'll immediately notice is a significantly pre-set forward torso posture. Why? ✅Shifts the loading strategy from quad/toe to glute/heel ✅Back heel stays connected longer ✅Deeper back knee/hip flexion ✅Able to stay in his load longer, building more linear momentum ✅Less motion happening at the trunk - this is a "set it and forget it" approach that was likely targeted at improving his command over velocity. ✅Pelvis rotating level into release, not dumping arm side He also has noticeably larger legs, allowing him to produce more ground force, both on the back side and lead leg block standpoint. I've said for a while that I don't think we'll see a pitcher hit over 107 in our lifetimes, but Miz is one of the few who has a chance to knock on that door.

When you're 1 week out of TJ and your PT thinks they need to force more elbow extension.

A look at the Pittsburgh Pirates 13th rd pick: 5'10" RHP Dylan Mathieson. Here's a throwback to 2 years ago, when he went from topping 88 to perhaps the easiest 94 we'd ever seen. Awesome seeing a kid that so few would have considered a draft prospect make it into the professional ranks.

Jacob Misiorowski was a hard thrower in college, but he's made some adjustments to take his stuff into another stratosphere. What differences do you see between his JC (top) and MLB (bottom) mechanics? Full breakdown coming soon.

How is Aroldis Chapman throwing 103 mph again and could the Yankees have fixed him?🤔 Let's look at what changes he made this off-season to re-solidify himself as the hardest throwing lefty in the game. 1/

Hard throwers don't: 🚫Push off the rubber 🚫Triple extend 🚫Reach with their front hip/leg Hard throwers do: ✅Hold tension into the back hip ✅Keep a stacked torso + pelvis ✅Maintain back foot connection ✅Hold pelvis closed during linear move

Spencer Strider - Slow Motion (99 mph) Observations: ✅Pre-sets lead leg closed ✅Drifts without losing back leg ✅Rides a closed pelvis down the slope ✅Creates huge lateral angle off back leg ✅Sticks landing - hip rotation pulls front knee into extension

There are a lot of ways to throw 90 mph, but far less ways to throw 102+ mph A common theme amongst many of the hardest throwers is deep retraction (i.e. "flip up"). Here's why it contributes to velocity and how to train it ⬇️ [Thread 🧵] 1/

Here’s what a 20 mph jump in a little over 2 years looks like. How many would have told the kid in the before clip that playing in college was unrealistic? This kid wants it…and by the way, he’s 17 and looking for a school.

Here's a fun comp for draft-eligible RHP remote athlete Cole Leaman, who was topping 91 a couple years ago. What is the ideal stride length for pitchers?🤔 Your ideal stride length is determined by how long you can stay in the hinge while still being able to ROTATE out of it. Longer strides aren't inherently better. More examples (& what the research says) below 🧵

In <18 months Maizen Price, 22, went from low 80's to touching 96+ mph. What differences do you see & what insights can other pitchers draw from his progress? Let's take a look. Maizen Price

I've been hammering this idea of bringing the eyes down/off the target for years, but for a different reason: It's also a counterintuitive way to improve command for guys who struggle with holding fine focus on the target.

What is the ideal stride length for pitchers?🤔 ASMI's research found that elite pros ranged from 77-87% of height in stride length (from rubber to lead ankle). However, some elite pros stride ~100% of their height, calling into question if this is the "ideal" range. 1/

Friendly reminder that a low vert fourseam isn't automatically "dead zone." Sale's 4S averaged just 11.9" of vert in 2018 at 95.1 mph. But it was an outlier in other ways (vertical and horizontal approach angle). Pure filth.
