The Gaza Famine is the world’s famine. A preventable, predictable famine. Enough. Ceasefire. Open all crossings, north and south. Let us get food in, unimpeded and at massive scale.

We’re seeing huge devastation in Nepal. Hundreds dead and missing. Roads gone. Bridges swept away. We are facing huge obstacles to reach people and save lives. Interview on CNN:

I spent last night in Kyiv as another series of massive attacks hit. Homes. A hospital. A school. At least 15 people killed, more than 30 injured. An insight into the reality for so many living through this war.

Aid workers are protected under international humanitarian law. Yet marked humanitarian vehicles are still being hit. Local organizations face greatest risks. Those funding and fuelling today’s wars must do more to protect humanitarians. The Associated Press interview:

Sudan does not suffer from lack of analysis, but lack of action. Sudanese people need diplomacy, water and medicine. Yet world sends drones, weapons and mercenaries in struggle for power, gold and pride. My Security Council statement:

To those funding and fuelling the world’s wars: your weapons, your influence, your decisions have consequences. #WorldHumanitarianDay

Cheap armed drones are putting lethal power into ever more hands to kill at distance from victim and law. Civilians and humanitarians are paying the price. In Kherson, Ukraine, and in an increasing number of places globally. Technology is outpacing accountability. And humanity.

Many more lives will be lost unless we get ahead of this Ebola outbreak. The humanitarian community has the tools, courage and expertise. We need access and resources.

Just chaired meeting of global humanitarian leadership on the Ebola epidemic, with Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. This crisis is real, and growing. Our teams are doing courageous, vital work on the frontlines. But let me be clear: this is not enough. We need the world to wake up and show up.

This is not a temporary spike. It is a stain. Nearly 1,000 aid workers killed, injured or kidnapped last year around the world. States, armed groups and all those who enable them must be held accountable. My briefing from Kyiv on #WorldHumanitarianDay:

In the high mountains of Gilgit Baltistan, climate crisis is putting entire communities at risk. We are working with them to build resilience, as they battle the odds.

Excellent discussion in Islamabad with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. We discussed intense diplomatic efforts on Middle East, humanitarian convoys across Pakistan/Afghanistan border, and partnership on global disaster preparedness.

So, for those killed and those whose voices are silenced: what more evidence do you need? Will you act now – decisively – to prevent genocide in Gaza and to ensure respect for international humanitarian law? This Council must prevail. Demand this ends.

Battlefield technology may be changing at terrifying pace, but rules of war must still apply. Or we all face chilling reality that Ukrainians face now. My statement to Security Council:

A decade of conflict. 11m women and girls in need. 3 women dying daily from preventable causes. 73 colleagues detained. Over 200 access blockages in a year. Yemenis deserve dignity and hope.
