Unfiltered, driving through Gaza City yesterday.

Unimaginable destruction in Gaza: homes, schools, hospitals reduced to rubble. Survivors tell me we have to bear witness. And that we must do more: to protect them, to deliver lifesaving aid, to maintain the ceasefire, to help them rebuild.

We're living in the worst of times.

The danger of allowing the world to be run by weak and insecure men.

UN Charter pledged us to save generations from scourge of war, defend human rights and justice. Amid horror of El Fasher we must return to those words as rebuke for international failure, and challenge that world can do better. My remarks:

1.8bn USD of new humanitarian funding announced by Department of State will save millions of lives. The humanitarian community has a plan to reach 87m people with lifesaving aid and we’re determined to deliver.

Our 60-day Gaza plan is delivering. Since the ceasefire, we have been able to bring in much more flour, yeast, and fuel for machines. New UN supported bakeries are being opened every day. Visited the latest, where 300,000 pieces of bread are already being produced daily. World Food Programme

A bit of uncut frustration, pride and anger at the end of a week in Somalia. We need to fight back.

The global outlook, Humanitarian Reset, and vital role of Spanish leadership in principled humanitarian action. Excellent dialogue in Madrid at Las Cortes Generales with full spectrum of political parties of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committees.

On the road to visit the Rafah crossing into Gaza. This route is a vital lifeline for food, medicine, tents and other lifesaving aid. We want to see it full of trucks, as part of a massive surge of aid following the peace deal.

This winter in Afghanistan, hunger is soaring. Food aid has collapsed. Clinics are closing. 1.1 million children are missing life-saving nutrition. We need restrictions on women humanitarians lifted immediately and the funding to do our work. My remarks:

At the Lebanon/Syria border. Over 200,000 people have crossed into Syria in a month. Humanitarian teams on the ground are constantly responding, constantly adapting.
