The reason I hate Wave Warp. The Pinning can be smoother using the Blur + Alpha adjustment, but this solution is not perfect. Does anyone know a better effect that works similarly?

btw it reminds me of a trick. I’m not sure if it’s well known, but if you properly set the First Vertex and animate the Trim Paths Offset, you can follow the shape’s form. It works best with characters that don’t have too many intersections

Actually Wave Warp can work here: * Pinning + extra shapes + (Blur + Alpha) → Better edges control * Layer Styles (Stroke + 0 Fill Opacity) → Non-deformed stroke without fill * Scale + CC Scale Wipe → Stretching * Add Amplitude to Essential Properties for better control
