Yes — it does work. And this exact trick... is how a lot of keyless cars are being stolen right now. Here’s what’s happening in those doorbell clips: thieves use a relay attack. One stands near your house with a signal booster to “listen” for your key fob. The other stands by your car with a receiver. Your car thinks the key is right next to it… unlocks… and starts. No broken glass. No alarms. Gone in 60 seconds. A Faraday pouch/box blocks the radio signal from your key fob so thieves can’t “relay” it. •No signal = no unlock •No signal = car stays put Police, car manufacturers, and security experts all recommend them because they’re cheap and very effective.
