A feature I notice many EasyRain users missing is... the puddle material function that can be used on static meshes *and* landscapes (Example below is a landscape mesh) You can set the water depth, color, ripples, splashes, all controlled through the EasyRain blueprint. #UnrealEngineshow more

Over Christmas, I'm working on a new #Unrealengine tool... for helping you find possible optimisations and bugs in your levels. 👉#gamedev s out there, what searches would you find useful? In the video below you can see me doing a health check to look for potential static mesh optimisations and bugs. Then clicking through to look in more detail at the static meshes that have their mobility set to moveable #UE5 #gamedevelopmentshow more

Unreal Engine, Blueprint... I made this cable with a... spline, then saved it as a static mesh so the material could work more correctly. Now, I'm wondering if I can repeat this effect with a Cable Component with physics + hold a object #UnrealEngine #UE5show more

Experimenting with a SDF material blend function that is... "stamps" the material volumetrically. The previous function I was using (which is the common one) blends the material around the surface influence area, and so would have no effect below ground.show more

On the landing page, each feature is presented visually,... allowing users to understand how Ithaca can transform their financial landscape.show more

And another unique feature of the skin is the... interaction with water while using all abilities (while in the river) - electricity and water splashesshow more

This feature is what I am proud of the... most! I have built an algorithm that searches images based on a color and the algorithm will sort images based on how close the color is to the color selected and how dominant that color is in the image.show more

When you use FSD a lot, you can get... used to many of the incredible things it can do. But today I sat back and thought, damn, the fact that my car can even do something like a U-turn all on its own is pretty wild.show more

There is a bike trail in Belgium where you... can go "Cycling Through Water," through a large lake. This bridge is below the water line and in parts it is low enough to put riders at eye level with the lake.show more

Unreal Engine's built-in VFX system, Niagara, can be used... to create cinematic effects that run completely in real-time. In this example focused on Automotive visualization, Jesse Pitela(Jesse Pitela) is layering thousands of GPU particles for snow flakes, meshes for ice chunks, and a Niagara Fluids smoke simulation on top, to show the car interacting with its environment❄️show more

One way to remap data and influence visuals is... through value erosion. Here is how you can erode a texture controlled with a softness parameter #realtimeVFX #UnrealEngine #gamedev #VFX #UE5show more

Color traces A new art update is now live:... - all characters are now in color - the canvas grid is more detailed - characters now feature different visual styles You can check them out on OpenSea now.show more

Cheap Light Alternative💡 Using a modulate blend material you... can multiply screen colors and use depth masking to fake a light radius, make sure you clamp the result in a range above 1, Cheap and can work surprisingly well #gamedev #VFX #realtimeVFX #UnrealEngine5 #UnrealEngineshow more

Cool facts about the Material Parameter access in #UEFN/#Verse:... - You create/store an instance of the material that you can set on any prop using SetMaterial() (only need this once!) - Texture, Scalar, and Vec4 parameters can be changed and automatically apply to the material!show more

A Mars rover recorded an unusual movement on the... Martian surface, drawing interest from scientists and space enthusiasts. Mars is an active world with dust devils, strong winds, and seasonal dust storms that can move sand and reshape the landscape. In many cases, unexpected motion can be linked to natural weather and environmental processes on the Red Planet. On Mars, even the wind can leave a lasting mark on the landscape. #mars #marsrover #space #nasa #scienceshow more
