Do more hill sprints. Hamstring strains are the #1... injury in contact sports and its one of the biggest reasons athletes never develop one of the most valuable qualities in sport - Speed. Hill sprinting is a smart way to reintroduce high-speed running if you’re cautious about hamstring injuries. The incline naturally shortens stride length and reduces peak hamstring strain compared to flat sprinting. Yes — nothing replaces flat max-velocity sprinting. But you have to be conditioned for it.
