I haven’t been very active here, as I’ve always poured my energy into design and creation. These last five years at RTFKT have been an incredible journey, pushing my skills and creativity into uncharted territory. I read a beautiful farewell message from a Kenyan High school teacher (Physics & Mathematics) to his colleagues, friends, students, and community. I also watched a short clip on the same! So moving, it reminded me how Teaching is, easily, the most importantly IMPACTFUL profession for national development. Indeed, the difference between the so-called First World and the rest is not how high buildings rose to the skies but how much of deliberate investments went into Education and Healthcare. As I prepare to bid farewell after 17 incredible years at Sheikh Ali High School, my heart overflows with gratitude and love for each of you. I feel both sad and happy as I write this. Last day in China today. What an amazing journey... my wife and I have been on with our 3 kids this summer! 6 weeks on the road traveling through Asia, it’s been one heck of an amazing adventure 😃 Guangzhou you’ve been amazing 🙏🏼 Lots of family time, so many incredible memories, some truly unforgettable meals (best place to eat in China) and now we board a ferry back to Hong Kong before catching a flight this evening back to North America I’ve learned so much about China these last few weeks and can’t wait to share more with everyone soon 😃show more

With our season being over my contract with Team... Vitality 🐝 has ended It has been a rocky journey and through each challenge it has been a test of who we are and what we’re made of. I can personally say that the work ethic of the team cannot be put to question and everyone was willing to go over and above to get us to where we wanted to be. It can feel like all the work had no reward, but I truly believe that the work is an investment for a lifetime and not just a season. To the fans, we know it is disappointing and we really dreamed of that fairy tale story in Paris. For now the players, coaches and staff appreciate the support that has been given and even I could feel the warmth of the well wishes and welcomes I received when I joined the org. The past year has seen me have a renaissance,... in the truest sense… I won’t go into details now but will at some point before long. What has brought so much happiness to my life and those around me this past year has been my falling back in love with sport. Cycling has, and always will be, my number one. Yet I’d forgotten that I simply love sport, not for results but for the sheer joy of doing it, I’d completely forgotten that the health of my mind is intrinsically connected to the health of my body. I’ve rediscovered the love I had for sport that existed before the world of professional cycling took over in the way it did. I’ve been pushing myself and trying new things this past year, indifferent to the results, just out having fun and at times going deeper than I thought I was capable of anymore. Last week I got on a TT bike for the first time in a decade, Factor Bikes built me a bike, I’ve been looking at it for two years and decided it was time to get fitted, getting back on it felt like going home. Anyway, the long and the short of this is that it’s inspired me to create a club to inspire and be inspired. A community for us to share our love for getting out there and doing it, because I’ve realized that although I spend most of my sporting life on my own I derive the most pleasure when feeling part of something. It’s in its early days, I’ve called it Sporting Club CHPT3 aka SCC3, I’d love you to check it out and join. It’s still in its infancy, but I hope it’s going to grow into something that will inspire you as much as me.show more

President Carter’s time on this earth is coming to... an end according to his grandson Jason Carter. What a great man. At 99 he has accomplished so much. With an election coming up let’s remember all he has done for voting rights. Jason Carter: "My grandfather is doing okay. He has been in hospice, as you know, for almost a year and a half now, and he really is, I think, coming to the end. Just wanted to provide an update. Earlier today, Emilia... finished her last chemo cycle and got to ring the bell. She is officially in remission. Her last two MRIs have come back clean. And we’ll now have to do an MRI every six months for the next five years. I’ve never been more proud of anything or anyone in my entire life. Emilia has been extremely strong and resilient, continuing to amaze us day after day. Thank you to everyone who has shown support throughout the last six months. My family and I truly appreciate it.
