After this morning’s drone attack on infrastructure in Moscow,... I see many statements from Russians saying they don’t like it, as well as polls about how Russians feel after the attack in various public channels. I also see sympathy being expressed for “ordinary Russians.” Well, I don’t care about that. Just like all of us living in Ukraine. Because nobody asked us, and nobody asks us, whether we like sitting under drone attacks. Whether we like the sound of exploding missiles. Whether we like living under all these bombardments. We are forced to sit and survive. And yes, we want all Russians to live in a state of anxiety. We want them to be afraid. We want them to feel the horror that they have brought upon others. Because they brought this war into our home. And every single one of them must bear responsibility for their inaction. Period. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. APPLEBAUM: The war in Ukraine is really fault line... between democratic and autocratic worlds. Russians are trying to destroy Ukraine as a nation, they want it to disappear. As an empire, they want Ukraine to be their colony. And they understood perfectly well that by invading Ukraine, they were defying this liberal world order. They were defying the rules of post-war Europe, because in post-war Europe decision was made after 1945: we are not going to invade each other anymore, we are not going to have wars. Instead, we are going to decide everything by diplomacy, and borders will not be changed by force. And Russians understood they were breaking that norm when they invaded Ukraine. They also invaded Ukraine because Ukrainians were using that powerful democratic language we take for granted. Putin said, “If they can do it in Ukraine, then people could do it in Russia. So, I need to crush this Ukrainian democracy movement.”show more

🇺🇦 Zelensky: Today we celebrate the Day of the... Armed Forces of Ukraine – an independent Ukraine, a Ukraine that knows how to defend itself, a Ukraine that stands in such a way that there is simply no one in the world who could afford to ignore us, our state. And even those in the world who still do not believe in Ukraine or simply do not know enough about Ukraine, are still forced to reckon with how Ukraine will react. Few states in the world have such weight. Even fewer could really stand against such Russian strikes, assaults, and meanness, from which Ukraine is actually defending itself every day and every night. We are deterring a full-scale Russian invasion. We have been holding back Russian murderers for almost four years of full-scale war – after years of hybrid war – we are keeping them behind the front line. Ukraine exists, and the fate of Ukraine really matters, and the world must reckon with this. And this is solely because we have you, Ukrainian warriors, Ukrainian soldiers, Ukrainian sergeants, Ukrainian officers, and everyone who works for our defense, everyone who provides the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all our Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine. I congratulate all of you, Ukrainian warriors, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I am proud of you, Ukrainian defenders, Ukrainian defenders. Glory to the Ukrainian warriors! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!show more

"I never thought war would touch us like this!... I just didn't think..." says Russian girl after Ukrainian drones came to her region of Russia. As we have been saying for the last few years: until the Russians feel the war at home, they will never want it to end. Therefore, the only option to stop the Russian war in Ukraine as soon as possible is to help Ukraine with resources so that every Russian in every region of Russia feels what war is.show more

‼️JUST NOW — powerful brief remarks by the leaders... of Ukraine, the UK, France, and Germany in London: IN SHORT: Merz: “The coming days could be decisive for all of us. The destiny of this country is the destiny of Europe. Nobody should doubt our support for Ukraine. And this is what we are firmly standing behind. I'm skeptical about some of the details which we are seeing in the documents coming from the U.S. side.” Macron: "I think we have a lot of cards in our hands." Zelenskyy: "Our team came back, and I think that they will brief us about the last talks with Americans and after talks of Americans with Russians." Starmer: "If there's to be a ceasefire, it needs to be a just and lasting ceasefire. Matters about Ukraine are for Ukraine." FULL STATEMENTS: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer: "But the principles remain, the principles that we've operated on for a very, very long time, which is that we stand with Ukraine, and if there's to be a ceasefire, it needs to be a just and lasting ceasefire. And that's why it's so important, that we repeatedly set out the principle forward that matters about Ukraine are for Ukraine. And we stand here to support you in the conflict and support you in the negotiations and make sure that this is a just and lasting settlement if we can get that far. You're very welcome for our discussions". President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy: "Thank you very much, Kir. Thank you for organizing this meeting. Thank you, friends, Emmanuel and Friedrich, and thank you for our joint meeting. I think that it is very important now to organize such a meeting and discuss very sensitive issues regarding these talks that we had, in the United States and between us. Our team came back, and I think that they will brief us about the last talks with Americans and after talks of Americans with Russians. I think there are lot of what we have to discuss and speak about. So there are a lot of things which are very important for today. I think, unity between Europe and Ukraine, and also unity between Europe, Ukraine, and the U.S. There are some things which we can't manage without Americans, things which we can't manage without Europe, and that's why we need to make some important decisions". President of France Emmanuel Macron: "And thank you Volodymyr for being with us. You are always welcome. In France, I think we all support Ukraine, and we all support peace. And peace negotiations to have sustainable, robust peace. And I think we have a lot of cards in our hands. The financing and the quality of equipments and training programs to Ukraine, the fact that Ukraine is resisting in this war, and the fact that the Russian economy is starting to suffer, especially after our latest sanctions and the US sanctions. And now I think the main issue is the convergence between our common positions, Europeans and Ukrainians, and the U.S. to finalize these, peace negotiations and re-engage in a new phase in the best possible conditions for Ukraine, for the Europeans, and for our collective security". Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz: "I highly appreciate that we are having the opportunity to see you, Volodymyr, together with Emmanuel, and talking about the upcoming days, because this could be a decisive time for all of us. We are trying to continue our support for Ukraine, as you know. On the other hand, we are seeing these talks and negotiations in Moscow and in the U.S. I'm looking forward to hear from you what the outcome of these talks might be. And we are still and remain strongly behind Ukraine and giving support to your country, because we all know that the destiny of this country is the destiny of Europe. So that's the reason why we are here, trying to figure out what we can do. And nobody should doubt on our support for Ukraine. And this is what we are firmly standing behind. And the outcome is open. I'm skeptical about some of the details which we are seeing in the documents coming from the U.S. side, but we have to talk about that. That's why we are here".show more

'The British live poorly because there is a war... in Ukraine. We need to continue helping Ukraine fight the war' — Minister of Armed Forces Alistair Carnes demonstrates the wonders of British logic. 'For 10 years, we couldn't explain what the war in Ukraine really means for the UK. And yet, this is the main factor that influenced the cost of living crisis. But if you ask an ordinary person on the street, they are unlikely to connect the war in Ukraine with rising prices and the difficult economic situation. When we talk about war or social support, we need to understand: if we do not help Ukraine, it will ultimately cost us much more. I believe that we must do everything necessary to support Ukraine simply because if Ukraine is defeated, the price for us will be much higher. Therefore, this is an investment to save money in the future. We need to double our efforts and continue to support Ukraine as we have done so far. By fighting on the front lines now, Ukrainians are preventing what we ourselves would have to fight if things go wrong.' - SKshow more

Our responses to Russia’s prolongation of the war and... its attacks on our cities and communities are entirely justified. This time, Ukrainian long-range sanctions reached the Moscow region, and we are clearly telling the Russians: their state must end its war. Ukrainian drone and missile manufacturers continue their work. I am grateful to the Security Service of Ukraine and all the Defense Forces of Ukraine for their precision. The distance from Ukraine’s state border is over 500 km. The concentration of Russian air defense in the Moscow region is the highest. But we are overcoming it. Glory to Ukraine!show more

KAMYSHIN: There are two nations on the continent who... know how to produce 10 million drones a year. One of them wants not to integrate into Europe, but to invade. Russians have always been very vocal about their targets. When we check tanks we captured from Russia in our tank repair factories, because we grab them, repair them, and try to send them back to Russia to fight against Russia, so when we check those tanks, they never write to Kyiv. They always write to Berlin, NATO, Prague, whatever. They can't admit to themselves that they fight Ukraine only. They believe they fight with NATO. They've always been very vocal about their targets. They want to invade Europe, period. There's another nation which is also capable of producing whatever is needed in big war, and we are asking to get us integrated into Europe. So, you have to choose whether you want to have Ukraine integrated into European defense industry and European Union, rather than Russia invading. Because I've never thought that Ukraine would be integrated into European Union via security and defense road. And it looks like we will be there.show more

FEDOROV: For Ukrainians, it’s important that war ends on... just terms that are fair for Ukraine, and that Russia is held accountable. I like how Timothy Snyder, great friend of Ukraine, speaks about this. Fate of the world being decided in Ukraine. Not for first time on our land. We can only speak of lasting peace for the future of our world if the war in Ukraine ends justly and axis of evil is defeated. Therefore, it’s important to stop Russians, to prevent them from advancing and seizing more countries in Europe. It’s crucial that we strengthen our partners and build alliance that serves as reliable safeguard against future wars, one that would allow us to preserve peace for our children for many years to come. The future is being decided in Ukraine today, and we need to keep our partners by our side to deliver final blow to Russia.show more

‼️ZELENSKYY: IF UKRAINE BURNS, YOUR MOSCOW WILL BURN TOO.... “First off, about our response, which is totally fair, on Moscow. Well, you all see it, despite the three layers of air defense Moscow has, we said it before, - we would get to them. If Putin doesn't want to end this war and just wants to keep going, we won't just sit around quietly; we'll respond. The response has to be strong and fair. They (Russians) hit the Lavra (Cathedral). And afterwards during our meeting there with journalists, we were at the Lavra, and I said it very openly: we will prepare a response, and you'll see it. I think you can see it now. We don't want this war, and we never did. And everyone knows it, and our partners know it too. And we definitely don't want Ukraine to be burning because of the enemy. But if Ukraine burns, your Moscow will burn too” Ukrainian President on Thursday, June 18, 2026show more

Key points and statements from President Zelenskyy's interview to... Fox News: ◾️Ukrainians want peace more than anyone. ◾️Ukrainians need peace through strength, with security guarantees, not just a ceasefire that Putin will violate like he already has done with numerous earlier ceasefires. ◾️The war began when Russia brought this war to our country. All Ukrainians want to hear strong position of the US on our side. ◾️We need a very understandable infrastructure for security guarantees. ◾️We don't have enough weapons to push Russians out. ◾️It will be difficult for Ukraine to survive without US support, that's why I'm here today. ◾️I respect my soldiers and our civilians who support our warriors. I can't tell them to stop because Putin will come back tomorrow. We want just and lasting peace. ◾️We have to be very strong at the negotiations table. We are ready for peace, but we have to be in a strong position. ◾️Russians are killers to us, I can't change our attitude towards Russians.show more

Keir Starmer warned in 2030 about Russia planning attacks... on NATO. “And what does that have to do with us? As a Ukrainian woman, I say — fuck that. If they attack NATO, let them defend themselves. Ukraine and Ukrainians do not want to be Europe’s shield," - One of Ukrainian bloggers is pretty brutal about the news. -- "We don’t want to be a steel porcupine. We want to live normal lives — raise children, travel, exist like you Europeans do.” Read what Ukrainians think about the war and Zelenskyy in my op-ed here:show more

PM Frederiksen: we have to recognize, we have to... understand, we have to learn that Russia will not change and they are not interested in peace, unfortunately. Can you imagine? I mean, it's like minus 25 degrees and then you attack the energy system. I mean, it's so crazy that only Russians would do such a thing. But this is how Russia is and it will not change. And I think our problem in Ukraine is still that there are still red lines when it comes to the weapons they can use to win this war. And you cannot win a war with the one hand tied on your back. We need to give them weapons so they can strike into Russia. We have had this discussion for several years. We are still discussing it. I mean, for the last three years on this conference, I have said, why are we not providing them the air defense that they need? And everybody is doing like this. They still lack air defense. You cannot protect a country without air defense. We know exactly what we need to deliver, including, of course, membership of NATO, because if they were a NATO member now, we would be in a completely different situation now. So, we know what to do. But first of all, we have to recognize, we have to understand, we have to learn that Russia will not change and they are not interested in peace, unfortunately.show more

President of Ukraine: The Russians started the war, and... there are no alternatives to this wording. The whole world is a witness. They came with aggression to destroy us. We stopped them. Europe helped, America helped. Russia has not managed to occupy Ukraine because of the strength of the Ukrainian people, soldiers, civilians, and our partners. We fully support the US saying, "Enough bloodshed." But we must end this war in such a way that a year from now, Russia does not come back with a third invasion in this decade. It may happen, because that was their main goal.show more

ROSENBERG: Wherever we go in Russia now, people say... "we hope war will be over," and they do use the word "war." Officially it's still "special military operation," but most Russians call it "war" because when they switch on their television sets, they see war. Few years ago, when I used to ask Russian people on the streets in what ways they were affected by the war, a lot of them said, "Well, we're not affected by the war, it's something on our television sets." But now, you certainly feel that Russians are feeling the effects of the war more than ever. A lot of them know others who've been fighting in Ukraine, who've been getting injured or killed. And Russians are feeling economic effects more and more because of more than four years of international sanctions. And latest polling here in Russia suggests that approximately two-thirds of Russians would like peace talks rather than continuation of the war.show more
