Why Hyderabad Drowns After A 20min Rain? I may... not have a simple answer to this complex question but was in Raidurgam area yesterday and this what I saw. This is right next to the Raidurgam metro. It is like the IT hub of Hyderabad and look at the state of things here. Roads are being dug to lay drainage pipes. Locals told me it has been close to a year since they started digging. The debris is just lying on the road, existing drainage seems to be damaged and all the sewer is flowing on to the main road. To make things worse, many are parking right on the road making the congested area much more difficult to commute. There is no parking space at Raidurgam Metro. If someone wants to take the metro, they have to arrive on a separate vehicle to reach. Plus there are a million autos lined up on the road. Traffic police who hide behind trees or corner you in some random street won’t regulate traffic on the main roads. They won’t show a solution to park vehicles but will collect challans. Why are you collecting challans without any space being earmarked for parking? Do you expect people to jump off a parachute and get into a metro? We look at China, Japan with their advanced technology of laying roads in a day and will be wowed. Here governments talk about AI city, Future City and such money minting projects for the government and still get wowed. Why isn’t AI or advanced technology being used to repair roads, drainages or maintain infrastructure in the existing city??? Why this craze to call the existing city a dump and then pumping huge public money into a nonexistent Future City? Why is governance driven by real estate ambitions of a few politicians?show more

Thank you. This is inner ring road, coming from... Indiranagar to Koramangala on a weekday. Street hawkers have taken up the side lane + the pavement on both sides of ring road. This not only obstructs the pavement, but also causes so much traffic. What is stopping them from setting up a stall outside safina plaza or outside empire to sell their stuff? One of THE MOST impactful changes we can make... to urban roads in India is to maintain consistent road widths from one intersection to the next. Our current, variable road widths disrupt the orderly flow of traffic. For example, if there's just a bit of extra space on the side, auto-rickshaws attempt to squeeze in, causing chaos. If a road suddenly narrows from three lanes to two and a half, congestion follows. In cities like London, when extra right-of-way is found, the footpaths are widened up to the road. But in Mumbai, we tend to expand the road instead. The issue with this approach is that the number of private vehicles in a densely populated city like Mumbai can grow without limits. Expanding roads only encourages more vehicles. ⚠️ Caution to Mokila HMDA Plot Bidders ⚠️ Upcoming... Mokila HMDA auction is on 29th June & 30th June and I visited the site today, and here are my thoughts. The HMDA layout is shaping up very well. The development quality looks good, and the internal roads and overall planning appear to be done to a decent standard. However, the current approach roads are a major concern. • The approach road from Mokila Main Road / Waterford Villas side is decent initially, but remember it is only a 30 ft road, and nearly 1 km towards the end is still a kacha road. • The Kollur approach road is currently in a pathetic condition. • The third access road, which was probably operational earlier via the Aparna venture side, is now closed. Though the brochure mentions 3 HMDA planned approach roads, none of them are actually under progress or visibly planned on ground as of now. Personally, I would not recommend bidding beyond ₹65,000 per sq yard at the current stage. There are other options like Gachibowli County and JB Ventures plots directly on the RR7 Extension Road in the ₹55K–₹60K range, with much better connectivity and just 10–12 minutes from the Kollur exit. It doesn’t make much sense to invest ₹70K–₹80K+ without a proper and dependable approach road.show more
