When you slow plays down to 1/100th the speed, it distorts what actually happened and makes it look like, in this case, Cooks possessed the ball for seconds prior to losing it. The game is not played in slow motion or frame by frame. For a catch: A) Secure control of the ball ✅ B) Two feet down in bounds ✅ C) After (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, clearly performs any act common to the game (e.g., extend the ball forward, take an additional step, tuck the ball away and turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so. C is where there is a judgement needed since A and B are clearly met. Now consider this note to the rule: If a player, who satisfied (a) and (b), but has not satisfied (c), contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, it is an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground before he regains control, or if he regains control out of bounds. This is a textbook example of why the "ball... to hand" rule exists. According to IFAB Law 12, a handball is not an offense if the ball is hit on the hand or arm directly from a teammate’s kick or header at close range. Vitinha smashed the ball into Neves from point-blank range and so, it is classified as “unpreventable contact”, the rule is superseded by proximity. Neves has zero reaction time to move his arm when the ball is coming off a teammate’s foot from two yards away. A lot of hitters confuse being late with letting... the ball get deep. They’re not the same thing. In this video I show it with a simple example. I toss the ball and reach way out in front of me to catch it. That’s what late looks like. The ball already beat you… now you’re chasing it with your hands. Then I toss another one and catch it slightly behind me. That’s being on time and letting the ball get deep. When you’re late, your body and barrel are reacting after the ball passes your window. You’re forced to reach, cut across it, or roll it over. When you’re on time, you can let the ball travel and still control it. Now the barrel can stay through the zone longer, and you can drive it with authority. Deep ≠ late. Good hitters aren’t reaching for the ball… they’re on time enough to let it come to them. ⚾️ Train with an expert. Not an influencer.show more

In the outfield if you open up to one... side of a hard hit ball & the ball is on the opposite side just rotate your head to the ball verses trying to turn your entire body back to the ball. Taking your eyes off the ball briefly & having body control is more efficient than watching the ball all the way & not be in control of your movements.show more

This umpire initially called the runner coming home out.... The catcher drops the ball and then the umpire rules him safe because of the dropped ball. Then the catcher after a couple of seconds goes and tags the runner and the umpire calls him out. I don’t know what game the umpire is watching but it clearly isn’t this one. And I don’t know where he received his training. After the catcher dropped the ball, if he thought the runner didn’t touch home he should have made no call. But clearly he does. What do you think? Here, with Workman on second, Zach McKinstry hits a fly to left that lands, and Workman is thrown out 7-5 at third base. This was ruled a single, and the question has been asked as to why. First, this is the correct scoring, as this is a single. If this were a ground ball to short, and the runner is out 6-5 at third on a ball that would have otherwise been a hit, this would have been a fielder's choice, and the difference is in the wording on rule 9.05(b)(3), which says that you do not score a hit when a: (3) pitcher, the catcher or any infielder handles a batted ball and puts out a preceding runner who is attempting to advance one base or to return to his original base, or would have put out such runner with ordinary effort except for a fielding error. The Official Scorer shall charge the batter with a time at bat but no hit; The key is in the McKinstry play, the ball is handled by an outfielder, and not the pitcher, catcher, or any infielder. Here's GameDay 3D on the Cole/Rizzo play. Clearly and... obviously all on Cole for those still not believing all the former pros and coaches patiently explaining it to you. A few notes from the 3D: 1) Rizzo has to cover ground, positioned for a righty. Not seen on the broadcast, but it wasn't in front of him at all. 2) The spin on the "cued" ball is evident, and Rizzo smartly stayed back anticipating it. If he charges this ball, he likely misses it. 3) When Rizzo leans back for the bad bounce, it makes it impossible for him to beat Betts to the bag. Betts is at full speed, Rizzo from a standstill. 4) Cole clearly breaks to cover 1B, and Rizzo can see this before fielding the ball, he has every reason to believe Cole will be covering when he looks up after gloving the ball 5) Cole clearly would have beaten Betts to the bag had he continued to run to cover And as we all know, there is simply no excuse for the pitcher to not get there even on routine plays, just in case. Take a look at this shot from Shane Lowry...... Why did he choose to hit the higher shot vs playing a bump & run or even putt it... This is the difference between the ELITE & the recreational player The recreational golfer is likely putting this or hitting a bump & run with a 7 iron, or even a 4 iron... Now, while this option COULD get the ball close, it's by far the harder option in this scenario The recreational golfer will play the low shot because it's "SAFE". By safe, I mean less chance to hit it fat or blade it across the green For the elite golfer, height is always easier. They usually don't have any issue achieving good contact with their short shots around the green, so in this case, Shane is able to take out all the undulations around this green & just land the ball on the green & using some spin to slow the ball down The harder shot to get the ball close here would be a shot that is running on the ground. There's too much undulation & the ball could hit a ton of bumps along the way which will affect distance control Any shot is possible to hit here... But there's typically a shot where you can get it close more often than not. It's about identifying what that shot is & having the skills to play itshow more

Med Ball Spikeball Variation Some rules: • Everyone has... to touch the ball 1 time before returning it to the box • If a team fails to have everyone on their team touch it or fail to return it to the box then it’s the opposite teams point. • The ball must hit the box and go up. If it hits the side/corner of the box and immediately goes down it is the other teams point. You can all adjust and make up your own rules! Can be played 2v2, 3v3, or even 4v4.
