SPICY TUNA 🍣 CRISPY SUSHI Ingredients: •Sushi rice •Rice... vinegar •White sugar •Tuna / salmon sashimi •Spicy mayo (kewpie mayo, sriracha, sesame oil) •Soy sauce •Green onion •Optional: wasabi, sweet chilli sauce, black sesame, thinly sliced jalapeño, avocado Directions: 1.Wash and cook the rice, the rice needs 4 hours in the fridge to fully cool. Do this before hand. 2.Dissolve the white sugar in the rice vinegar & slowly fold into the rice 3.Add the rice to a shallow dish lined with cling wrap and press down to ensure it is compact. Chicken Vegetable Soup😋 Ingredients: 1 large chicken leg 3... tablespoons oil 1 onion (finely chopped) 2 carrots (grated) 1 red pepper (cut into small cubes) 2 tablespoons flour 1.25–1.5 liters water (use chicken broth if possible) Half a tea glass of small pasta (vermicelli) 2 cloves garlic (crushed) Salt and black pepper Half a teaspoon turmeric Lemon juice (at the end) Fresh parsley (chopped) Instructions: Boil the chicken in water (enough to cover it well). Add a little salt, black pepper, and 2 bay leaves if you like. When cooked, remove the chicken, shred the meat, and strain the broth. Set aside. In a pot, heat oil and cook the chopped onion until soft. Add red pepper and carrots, cook for a few minutes. Add flour and stir until it smells cooked. Slowly pour in the chicken broth while stirring. Add extra water if needed. When it starts boiling, add shredded chicken, pasta, garlic, and spices. Lower the heat and cook for about 15 minutes. New Cabbage recipe unlocked- Cabbage Beef Roll? Ingredients 1... small cabbage 500 g ground beef (or lamb) 100g rice 1 medium onion (I used a sautéed onion) Fresh parsley, chopped Seasonings: Salt & black pepper to taste 1 tsp garlic powder ½ tsp ground coriander ½ tsp ground cumin Cayenne pepper (optional) Sauce 100 g tomato paste 100 ml heavy cream 300 ml water 1 tsp garlic powder Salt & black pepper to taste 1 tsp dried oregano Cayenne pepper (optional) A few sliced tomatoes for the top Directions Cook rice until half-done, about 5-8 minutes. Drain well. Separate the cabbage leaves and boil them for 2-3 minutes until softened. Drain well. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, rice, sautéed onion, parsley, and all the seasonings. Add 2-3 tbsp of water to the meat mixture to keep it extra juicy, then mi› well. Mix together the tomato paste, heavy cream, water, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Line a baking dish with cabbage leaves. Spread a layer of the meat mixture on top, then cover with more cabbage leaves. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used, finishing with cabbage leaves. Pour the sauce evenly over the top and arrange the sliced tomatoes. Cover with foil and bake at 200°C for 1 hour. Let me tell you one of the best day... trips from Tokyo. Niigata. Just 1.5 to 2 hours by Shinkansen. People go for two things: the best rice in Japan and some of the best sake in the country. Niigata is famous as the home of Koshihikari, Japan’s most celebrated rice. It’s also one of Japan’s top sake regions. The first place you should go is Ponshukan inside Niigata Station. It’s basically a dream for sake lovers. Rows of sake vending machines. You buy coins and just keep tasting. That’s it. I’ll attach a video of the machines. My personal favorite is Hokusetsu Daiginjo YK35 Shin. It’s incredible. You absolutely have to try it. It was so good I ended up buying a bottle to take home. Also stop by Bakudan Onigiriya. They make ridiculously huge rice balls using Koshihikari rice. One bite and you start questioning every onigiri you’ve ever eaten before. Eat amazing rice balls. Drink a lot of sake. That’s basically the whole trip. But somehow you go home completely satisfied. On the way back, you fall asleep on the Shinkansen, and suddenly you’re already back in Tokyo. SLOW COOKER BEEF BRISKET PASTA Ingredients 1.2 kg beef... brisket ½ tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 brown onion, finely chopped 3 garlic cloves, chopped 400g tin diced tomatoes 3 tablespoons tomato paste ⅓ cup red wine 1 cup beef stock 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs 350g pasta (any kind you like) To serve: Grated Parmesan cheese Fresh parsley Method: Pat the beef brisket dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until well browned. Transfer the seared brisket to your slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, tinned tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, beef stock, and dried Italian herbs. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the brisket is fall-apart tender. Remove the brisket, shred it using two forks, then return it to the sauce in the slow cooker. Stir well to combine. Meanwhile, cook your pasta separately according to packet instructions. Drain and add it to the slow cooker. Stir through the brisket sauce until well coated. Dish it up with a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan and fresh parsley. I’m upset. Because it took me 57 years to... discover that homemade sour cream is incredible. You must try this! Not only was it easy to make, I got to choose the cream that went into it (A2). Simply mix 1 tbs white vinegar with 1 cup heavy cream, stir, cover with cheesecloth and refrigerate for 12-24 hours. The result has the subtle sweetness that you taste in cream and it’s the smoothest thing ever. I had to stop myself from eating it right off the spoon. I had planned to let it sit at room temp for 4 hours to accelerate the thickening and then refrigerate but I forgot and left it out (69°) for 14 hours but it turned out perfect! You can make your sour cream probiotic by adding some live yogurt or kefir to cream instead of vinegar and intentionally leave it at room temp until thickened as desired.
