Tonny recommended a Christian school for her (Rena and her mother are Christians), Code High School. When he first mentioned the school, I thought it was just an ordinary school. Oh my… Earlier today, Rena, her mother and I traveled to Bajjo, Seeta in Mukono District to seek admission. When we arrived, we were received by the Deputy Head Teacher. After listening to the girl’s story and seeing her impressive PLE performance (Second Grade Upper – 15 aggregates), she was admitted immediately. Rena is going to a school that many of us who come from humble families only dreamt of. After the admission, it was another emotional moment as her mother broke down in tears of joy. Frame 2 shows the girls’ quarters, one for O-Level and another for A-Level. Frame 3 is the main hall and dining hall. The video shows the main classroom block. The school is not only strong in infrastructure but also academics. They performed very well in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations. The school administration has allowed Rena to start next term and catch up with her S.1 class. It all started with Mariam reaching out to me… and here we are. I genuinely cannot understand how someone can watch this... story and still stand there, looking at two women, and somehow decide that the wrong one is the victim. On one side, you have a girl (Yıldız) who has been mistreated her entire life. Since the moment she was born, she was treated like a sacrifice for a conflict she was never even part of and later we find out that this conflict never even existed. Her right to study was taken from her. She was pushed into a marriage at a very young age just imagine being six, seven, eight years old, living in fear of being tied to someone you don’t even know. She was treated like a servant in her own home, by the very people she thought were her family. And just when she gets close to the happiness she dreamed of, the man she was engaged to shows up with another wife. She gets mistreated by that wife, by his family, and even (unintentionally) by him, because he was trying to run away from his own feelings, and that only caused her more heartbreak. The whole world was literally against her. She fought through all of that, only to find out in the end that everything she suffered for was based on something that wasn’t even real. Her entire life was built on a lie. That she isn’t even part of that family that she has literally no one in this world. Now on the other side… You have a girl (Melek) who, yes, was taken from her biological mother but she was raised by loving parents. She had everything anyone could wish for: education, freedom, a happy childhood, a healthy environment. She lived her life, fell in love, went out, made choices and no one questioned her, no one controlled her. And then what did she do? She found out that her man was engaged to another woman before marrying her (and even saw him marry her) and instead of holding on to her dignity, she chose to stay, to fight for a man who lied to her, to hold onto a marriage he tried to end multiple times. She used her unborn child to keep him tied to her. She lied constantly, and her excuse was that she was “protecting her marriage” a marriage that was already broken from the moment Serhat removed that ring at the airport in episode one. She tried to hand Yıldız (a woman who had already suffered enough) over to dangerous people. Then she found out the truth about her own birth (that her father ra*ped her mother.)And still no empathy. I just ran into a former employee from a New York City migrant shelter who told me a horror story that allegedly occurred while he was working there. The former employee said that once she arrived in New York City, the gang continued to control her. He said there are always gang members monitoring vulnerable migrants and keeping tabs on what they view as their “investments.” While she was here, the woman was allegedly forced to work as a prostitute on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens. According to the former employee, he begged his boss to fire him because he couldn’t take working in that environment anymore. He said he told his supervisors what was going on, but nothing happened. He admitted the situation pushed him to the brink, saying he felt so overwhelmed that he feared he might hurt one of the gang members. Eventually, he left the job. He told me that as a man, he couldn’t handle the stress of witnessing women and children being exploited and feeling powerless to stop it. On multiple occasions, I have also been told by different sources at migrant shelters that when couples arrive, the men with them are often fake fathers or partners pretending to be family members. As someone who has broken multiple human trafficking stories, I can relate to the feeling of helplessness when trying to help children and migrants who are being taken advantage of. As always, while watching some scenes from the episode,... I get this déjà vu. And this time it happened during the hospital scene. I’m honestly 100% sure that the earlier almost miscarriage situation was intentional. It felt like they wanted to show us Serhat’s reaction when his child and the woman carrying his child were in danger and then later contrast it with his reaction when the woman he truly loves, the other half of his soul, is the one fighting for her life. I will never stop appreciating Ilhan’s acting. From episode one people doubted him, saying he only had one expression. But back then that was Serhat… the controlled doctor, M’s husband, the surgeon who keeps everything inside. Now he’s completely different. The emotional shift is almost 180 degrees from that version of Serhat. From the cave scene to the hospital scene the emotions were already intense, but the hospital was a masterpiece. The way he could barely stay standing, the way he allowed himself to cry openly even though his guards were around him! he didn’t care. Because the woman he loves had just been lifeless in his arms. And look at the details: he went down on his knees twice in this episode for her. A man as powerful and towering as a mountain fell to his knees because he felt utterly helpless! First in the cave, when he realized he was helpless! she was fainting, the venom in her blood was faster than anything he could do, and his strength meant nothing in that moment. Then again in the hospital, when he finally reached his limit and simply couldn’t stay standing anymore😭 And this is the same man who showed almost no emotion when his father died. The same man who barely reacted when his mother had a heart attack. The same man who stayed composed when his legal wife nearly miscarried.
