"best catch of the year" according to catch probability, and it's a great example of how watching the advanced stats can tell you things you won't get from watching on TV. This was the last play of the game last Wednesday. Bogaerts hit the ball 102.3 MPH at a 15° launch angle, and Pages covered 45 feet in 2.9 seconds and did it so efficiently he didn't even have to leave his feet. Then she turned to the camera, and said, “I’m that motherf&$$er.” WHAT??? My heart dropped in that moment……for a couple of reasons. 1. She is arguably the worst role model for kids in the WNBA. Fable 5 comes back！It can now build playable game... prototypes. I think it is actually a signal for where AI coding is going. Making a game is not just “write some code.” Even a small browser game needs: game loop；character movement；collision logic；scoring system；UI states；physics tuning；visual feedback；bug fixing；playtesting This is why game prototyping is a great test for AI models. A model cannot fake it with a pretty answer. Either the game runs, or it does not. What impressed me about Fable 5 is that it is useful for the messy middle: turning an idea into mechanics, turning mechanics into code, debugging broken interactions, and iterating until the prototype feels playable. But here is the practical part: I would not use the strongest model for every step. For game building, I would split the workflow: 1. Fable 5 for game design + architecture 2. a fast coding model for routine implementation 3. a vision-capable model for screenshot/UI feedback 4. a cheaper model for docs, test cases, and small fixes 5. fallback when latency, cost, or output quality becomes a problem That is the real AI coding stack. Not “one magic model does everything.” More like: the right model, for the right task, at the right cost, with fallback when things break. This is why I’ve been looking at ZenMux ZenMux. Prime reason why you shouldn’t play star players in... a pre season game. 7-8 pre season games is beyond dumb. Playing guys for what? To have minor league guys run around looking to make an impression? If I was a GM I’d let my core of 5-8 players maybe play 2 exhibitions. I’d sacrifice them being a bit rusty games 1-3 in the regular season vs risking serious injury from some dipshit running around like a chicken with his chin cut off. And I’m not faulting those guys either (the guys trying to make the team) they have a job to do too. Jobs are won within these games. But Makar takes one up high last night, Cooley gets stapled. I have not seen enough about the decision from... Mike Vrabel and Tim Kelly to go for 2 down by 8 last night. Here’s why I loved it: 1) NFL teams this season have been successful on 55% of two-point conversion attempts. The odds were in the Titans’ favor. 2) Will Levis was dealing in the 2nd half. 3) Titans still had all three timeouts and the two-minute warning. 4) Miami struggled to move the ball on offense all night. Their three scoring drives went for 12, 7, and 59 yards. 5) If successful on the two-point conversion, a stop on defense and a TD wins the game. If unsuccessful, you can still send it to OT. 6) Titans offense marched down the field, scored the TD to make it a one possession game and essentially told Miami, “we are going for two because we know you cannot stop us right now.” The odds are in your favor. It’s a good mathematical decision. You want to psych out an opposing offense? Give them the ball knowing they need to run the clock out, or you are going to have a chance to WIN the game, not send it to overtime. They saw what your offense just did to their defense. They saw your QB on the sideline screaming and hyping everyone up. Cutting the lead to six put WAY more pressure on the Dolphins offense. You want to hype up your defense? Put them back on the field knowing your offense just did their job. Put them back on the field knowing a stop and a TD wins it. At that point, they aren’t in the mindset of “we need a stop to have a chance to go to OT.” They are thinking, “let’s go out here, get a stop, and give our offense a chance to WIN.” There’s a fundamental difference in playing to WIN and playing NOT to LOSE. This was a decision by a coaching staff that was playing to WIN. Brilliant game by Vrabel and Kelly. Brilliant execution late in the game by the offense and the defense. Can’t remember which major it was, but it was last season in the closing stages of the final round and tight lies. It’s a classic move from those who have anxiety with their pitching and are trying to help the ball in the air. I know it well. I had the chipping / pitching yips for a few years and was a complete mess. Head moving down & leaning back to the right shifts the low point of the club to an earlier spot. Club hits the ground too early. When you look at great pitchers they are usually shifting a little left, and slightly extending up after impact. Not dipping down and back. Imagine standing side on to the target and tossing to the landing spot with your trail arm. The dip down and knee buckle is completely at odds with how you would move. I am confident an expert short game coach could really help her with this. I reckon she is in the horrors mentally standing over these shots. No disrespect to Lexi, she’s obviously a great player. My experience as a Defenders fan going to STL... America's Center & The Dome for an away game. This was a solo trip, did not bring my family on this one. The St. Louis Battlehawks home games truly are one of the special environments for United Football League. I’ve been to 4 AWAY games for DC Defenders over the last 12 months and the environment for this one was fired up! They definitely should NOT move STL to a soccer stadium if they keep showing out like they did yesterday. I got to my hotel at 1AM on game day after a late flight from the west coast. I woke up 6 hours later, walked towards the stadium and randomly caught the STL player walk-ins. Then, I walked over to the tailgate and met up with The Bottom Line and enjoyed some mimosas and breakfast burritos with Ed Ploeger and his gang. Thanks for the hospitality! I was able to get him a signed Sam Kidd jersey as a thanks for all he does for the UFL community! After the tailgate, got in for gate drop at 0930, and went straight down to the field. I was able to say hi to a few players and talk with Steven McCrane as his son was nailing 50+ yard field goals with ease. Chatted up and made peace with a few STL fans around me. Once the game started, they had the place LOUD, and my watch kept alerting me that my hearing was getting damaged 🤣 . Being there for the first ever 4 point field goal by Matt McCrane made the travel worth it. After the home fans had a few rounds of beers, the heckling began (which was expected), but I had to pop about 6 beach balls/🎈 as I became the 🎯 for drunk fans as the only DC fan in the section. I tossed the balls back a few times until I immediately got hit with about 3 balls in a row. So that part was a bit of a let down, as I was just trying to enjoy a game. The halftime show was great. Overall, the game experience itself left something to be desired with the penalties and getting harassed by fans who were clearly recording trying to get rage bait engagement on 🎥. It made me sad because I didn't really enjoy the game back then and I felt that making a tutorial was pointless. this time, we still don't have a tutorial, only few minor objectives, and still got 10x more feedback. And real feedback from players that played a lot, some of them replayed the same mission many times. for the first time in almost 3 years, I feel confident about encouraging people to try Powerplay. And it will only get bigger and better from here, because I decided to finally end my solo developer era and finally get a partner to help me ship this motherfucker!
