Here's our vibe check: - Beats GPT-5.5 on Senior Engineer bench. On our toughest benchmark Opus 4.8 scores a 63—a hair higher than GPT-5.5's score of 62, and a full 30 points higher than Opus 4.7. It tackled a ground-up rewrite of a production codebase, and actually built something that works. HOWEVER: Coding performance varied a lot at different reasoning levels. We recommend using it on xhigh for best results. - Incredibly good writer. Opus 4.8 scored a 79.6 on our writing benchmark—measuring models on real-world writing tasks we do all of the time like essay writing, promo email writing, and more. It beats GPT-5.5 by 6 points. It produces well-written prose with fewer "AI-isms". It's also very good at writing in your voice given the right context. HOWEVER: Writing performance also varied with reasoning levels. Updated the subagents system in my custom Pi extension... to include: - Pi subagents - Codex subagents - Claude Code subagents The Pi thread can call and spin up any of them, and instead of just using the "codex exec" or whatever, it'll do a tool call that wraps it up in a first class way. Have a decent UI for them already added in as well. Pi being the main thread then having Codex/Claude Code as tools when needed feels so good. A flow I'm already using a ton is: "Implement feature ___, have a cc fable subagent research and plan out the api design + feature, then have a codex subagent implement it, then have a cc fable subagent do a review/fixes focused on simplicity and correctness" I also have a dynamic workflows extension setup and working, but it's not nearly as polished yet. In the past week, I was able to build... the following games: - An endless runner - A tower defense - A Mario Party-like mini-game - An arena-based shooter The key unlock here was the ThreeJS skill With Opus 4.5 & GPT 5.2 - Claude Code / Codex CLI have much better end results now. With each game, I continued to update the skill based on bugs and issues faced - so it progressively got better and better at building the gameplay I was looking for. GPT-5.5 is MUCH more reliable on longer running tasks... - for the first time with any model. As we speak I have a migration running for over 7+ hours - this literally never happened before, the models would maybe run for 30 mins or of you really shout at them for 2-3 hours. Last night I went to sleep, set a long running task, then queued up 10 prompts to 'keep it going'. It did not stop after the first prompt and kept going for 8+ hours and I woke up to all the same prompts still queued up. The ability to run for a long time, in combination with ability to validate with computer use & other tools, makes it much more useful for building real applications.show more

I've been missing your company. I came really close... to checking into a mental hospital. I haven't needed that kind of saving since the late 90's. I'm so frustrated with my health, and feeling that I'm not in control, that I didn't trust myself. I got the lower back MRI results today. It shows bulging discs, arthritis, and stenosis. ⚔️ Kingdom Come Deliverance first impressions ⚔️ Loving it... so far, basically a medieval detective simulator that really doesn't care that you are the main character. And I'm all here for it. ▪️The WORLD is the real star of the show here and even though it's got plenty of jank and lots of copy and paste NPC faces, it just feels so IMMERSIVE. Even the UI just transports me to the times with a bright colourful medieval art style. ▪️The MUSIC I love, absolutely sells the world and basically ASMR as you trot around on your horse through the world. ▪️THE Combat is a real interesting one, it's got quite the learning curve which I actually LIKE, it definitely has some jank to it as well but I really appreciate the attempt at an original and nuanced combat system. (Having to stop your bleeding with bandages is really cool) ▪️The Story has gripped me (19 hours in so far) And while it seems a simple revenge story on the face of it, I think the story is more about Henry making his way through the world after the horrors of Skallitz. The writing quality is top notch as well as the quest design also. ▪️The CHARACTERS are amazing and the humour is top notch. I'm not sure the last time I laughed so much at a game. Henry is great and so well voiced by Tom McKay This really feels like Warhorse Studios have put a lot of love and work into making an authentic medieval world and as a bit of a medieval nerd I can't get enough of this game. A True RPG as well by all accounts, the game really makes me think hard about how to approach situations. Also I can't wait to get to KCD2.show more

I'm still playing with 3D storyboards for Seedance 2.0.... Even when I ask for a 2D video, using a 3D storyboard often pushes the model toward a 3D look. I haven't tested it extensively yet but there definitely seems to be a bias. So 2D storyboards work better for 2D videos, while 3D storyboards are better suited for 3D or photorealistic outputs. Another thing I found is that my video prompt is already very detailed. If I remove the storyboard section and generate the video without attaching a storyboard, the model still follows the same beats. The main difference is the environment. With a storyboard, it tends to recreate an environment that closely matches the storyboard. I also think storyboards help with certain poses and compositions. I've been testing out Windows 11's new Haptic Signals... feature on compatible hardware, and I think I love it. I'm someone who yearns for small UX details like this, and I'm so happy to see Microsoft leaning into subtle but quality UX implementations like haptics across the Windows Shell. These new Haptic Signals provide a subtle bump when interacting with certain UI elements and actions, such as snapping app windows or dragging files in File Explorer. The feedback response feels great and intentional, and makes using the OS feel more satisfying. There's still room for improvement, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with this first implementation. It's only supported on a handful of devices for now, but that should change over time. I've always loved the haptic feedback layered throughout Google Pixel phones, and now Windows is getting its own version of it. More UX niceties like this, please!show more

AUTOMATE POLYMARKET BOT WITH CLAUDE! Now, since Claude can... control your computer, things are changing fast, so I decided to try a few strategies I said, Claude: "Research for the best options to profit through Polymarket using my PC" He said that simple trading is basically gambling, you can also build a bot that arbitrages, trades, etc., but it takes ~months Then he said, "Copytrading." So I asked him to fetch wallets that I can copytrade and how I can copytrade them, what is the strategy Couple of hours and I had a running monitoring bot that fetched wallets and filtered them by: - PnL - Markets they are trading - Trades a day - Position size - Portfolio size - Strategy of trading Based on that, I asked him to consider options of copytrading, fixed amount, % of portfolio, or same risk management, what slippage He gave me 2 wallets that traded 5-15 min markets and said: "These wallets will be profitable for copytrading using: 5% slippage, one of them with a fixed amount, another with RM 1x ratio copytrading" Since these wallets didn't have a large portfolio, it really worked and it started copytrading using this TG bot Bot: It's ~1 hour since copytrading started and so far I have not made much profit, but testing looks great and Claude decided to test only for 20 trades/per day, firstly Make sure to follow me and turn notifs on, will share with you the rest of the journey here and continue finding new strategiesshow more

I'm very impressed with the Streaming quality of the... #PSPORTAL , From button press to game loads in about 10 seconds. I never used it before because I was always running this via Remote-play, but now that I've been playing this way for a few hours.... I'm at a Loss for words, this feels just like I'm playing it on my PS5, I even tried Fighting Games and the input lag was almost non-existent, I've tried streaming services in the past (Stadia, GE Force Now, X cloud) But none of them felt this good, this is crazy, if the PS6 Handheld has this feature I'm definitely going to be using it more often, this save me a lot of memory/storage and download times. #PSportal 👑 #Playstation 💙show more

This isn't a Mouse - it's a Portal. I... remain in my conviction that people in the City are semi-comatose, not noticing things around them. Hell, they don't even look at the sky. This seems crazy as we are hard-wired to notice things around us, to perceive and interpret clues and signals - this necessary for our hunter-gatherer ancestors to survive. The City is a great place for the reason that when you go to or view things 'off the beaten track' things reveal themselves - nature, secrets, and stories. Many of these things are actually in the open but under the radar of the city person. I realised years ago that when I'm down in the London Underground, if I look at the far track for a few minutes, a mouse going about its business is likely to appear. The far track means it is hidden from the people on the crowded platform. Just-wait-long-enough. Sure enough, I filmed for a few seconds and a furry critter appeared to order, like magic. When you open your eyes portals reveal themselves. They take you to another world. It seems even more magical when it's just you viewing it. A world within a world, for your privilege. For a few seconds, in this case, the people on the platform faded into the background and the wild and the oceanic appeared. These portals are the Perfect Moments I talk about.show more

Some updates on the multiview vistadream pipeline with Rerun!... Rerun came in extremely useful here, as being able to visualize depths at each stage of the pipeline allowed me to debug some nasty bugs. Since the last time, I was only working with a single image input. I've added in VGGT as my multiview pose + depth estimator. It works REALLY well for getting camera poses, but the depths are not that great. To try and fix that, I estimated depth maps from MoGeV2 for each of the views, and scale+shift aligned them so that they would match up to the confident sections of VGGT's depth predictions. You can see in the video just how much sharper the visualized 2d depth maps are! The biggest issue continues to be the multiview consistency 🫠 That's up next, along with actually training the Gaussian splat. Lots of work went into actually understanding inputs+outputs for VGGT. I had some funky bugs where the confidence values would all collapse to true I'm also really excited for this pipeline to use Difix3D+ Nvidia instead of Flux Inpainting, it seems like a better suited for a multiview pipeline.show more
