THIS IS THE CRAZIEST STORY IN CRYPTO HISTORY!!!🤯 A... man drained $110 MILLION from a crypto exchange in 20 minutes. Then used the stolen tokens to vote himself amnesty. He beat every federal charge in court. But still went to prison because of what the FBI found on his laptop. In October 2022, Avraham Eisenberg identified a flaw in Mango Markets, a decentralized exchange on Solana. Not a code bug, an economic design flaw. Here's what he did. He deposited $5 million, split it across two wallets, used one wallet to sell 483 million futures contracts, used the other to buy them all. Both sides of the same trade. Zero market risk. Maximum leverage. Then he went to the spot market. He aggressively bought the MNGO token on three exchanges with such thin liquidity that his buying pressure pumped the price 1,300% in 20 minutes. The price oracle fed that inflated price back to Mango Markets. The smart contract recalculated his portfolio value. Suddenly his position was worth hundreds of millions. He borrowed $110 million in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins against the fake collateral, withdrew everything, then dumped his tokens and crashed the price back down. The platform was instantly insolvent. Every user's funds were gone. Then he went on Twitter, under his real name, and called it a "highly profitable trading strategy." He said, "all of our actions were legal open market actions, using the protocol as designed." The Mango DAO held a governance vote on whether to let him keep $47 million as a "bug bounty." It passed. 9.46% voted yes. 0.33% voted no. Over half the yes votes came from just two developer wallets. And Eisenberg himself voted for his own amnesty using the tokens he had just stolen. Then he fled to Israel. The FBI found his search history: "Elements of fraud," "When market manipulation becomes a crime," "Statute of limitations market manipulation," "Extradition rules from Israel," "FBI surveillance." He also used a fake Ukrainian identity to set up some of his trading accounts. So much for "transparent open market actions." In December 2022, he flew to Puerto Rico. The FBI was waiting. Arrested at the airport. Laptop and phones seized. In April 2024, a federal jury convicted him on every count. Commodities fraud. Market manipulation. Wire fraud. The first ever criminal conviction for open-market manipulation in crypto. Then his lawyers filed a Rule 29 motion. And the judge threw out everything. The commodities charges, vacated. Wrong jurisdiction. Eisenberg was in Puerto Rico. The trades happened on Solana. The government's entire case for being in New York was that a third-party vendor had employees in Manhattan who monitored accounts. The judge said that's not enough. The wire fraud charge, full acquittal. The judge ruled that Mango Markets had no terms of service, no rules, no prohibition against what he did. The smart contract executed exactly as coded. The oracle reported the real market price. And you can't commit fraud against a protocol that never told you what the rules were. He beat the biggest crypto fraud case in history. But here's the twist nobody saw coming. When the FBI seized his devices at the airport, they were looking for evidence of market manipulation. Instead, they found child abuse material on his laptop. A sensational theft has come to light in #Bengaluru’s... #Marathahalli area, where gold, diamonds, silver, and cash worth ₹18 crore were stolen from the residence of builder Shivakumar in #Yamaluru. The accused are a couple who had joined the house as domestic workers just 20 days earlier, police said. The robbery took place on January 25, when no family members were present at the house. Shivakumar was on a foreign trip to the Philippines with friends, while his wife, son, and daughter-in-law had gone to a relative’s house. When the family returned, they found the lockers broken and valuables missing, bringing the crime to light. Police identified the accused as Dinesh and Kamala, a couple who had joined the household recently. Kamala worked as a house help, while Dinesh was employed as a security guard. Within a short span of 20 days, they gained the family’s trust by efficiently handling all assigned duties. Before their arrival, another couple, Vikas and Maya, who had worked at the house for nine months, had expressed their intention to leave for their native place. Shivakumar had asked them to arrange replacements before leaving, following which Dinesh and Kamala were hired. According to police, Kamala deliberately took the other house help outside on the pretext of going out. As soon as they left, Dinesh became active and reportedly called five to six accomplices to the house. The gang first switched off the UPS system and then broke open lockers located in bedrooms on the ground floor and first floor. The accused fled with 11.5 kg of gold, diamond jewellery, 5 kg of silver, and ₹11.5 lakh in cash, amounting to a total value of ₹18 crore. Police suspect the involvement of a Nepali gang, indicating that the crime was carried out with careful planning. In one of the #Bengaluru's biggest heists, domestic staff... allegedly decamped with gold, diamond and silver jewellery worth an estimated Rs 18 crore from a builder's residence at ASK Lake Garden on #Kempapura Main Road in #Yamaluru recently. The accused are a Nepalese couple identified as Dinesh (32) and his wife Kamala (25). According to the complaint filed by Shimanth S Arjun (28), a businessman, the theft occurred between 9 am and 12.30 pm on January 25. Arjun, son of MR Shivakumar, told #MarathahalliPolice that his family has been residing in the house for the past 19 years. His father Shivakumar, a builder, was out of town for work at the time of the incident. Dinesh and Kamala had joined as housekeepers about 20 days ago through acquaintances identified as Vikash and Maya Vishu. They were employed at the house along with cooks Siddharama and Ambika. On January 25, at around 9 am, the complainant, along with his wife and mother, left the house to attend his wife's land worship ceremony at H Cross on Hoskote-Chintamani Road. At around 12.38 pm the same day, Arjun received a call from the cook Ambika, who alerted him that cupboard locks had been broken and valuables stolen, allegedly by Dinesh and Kamala with the help of others. When the family rushed back, they found that a locker in the ground-floor bedroom had been broken open using an iron bar, with about 10 kg of gold and diamond ornaments stolen. Another locker in the first-floor bedroom was also found broken, from which around 1.5 kg of gold ornaments, about 5 kg of silver jewellery and Rs 11.5 lakh in cash were missing. In all, gold, diamond and silver ornaments and cash worth approximately Rs 18 crore were reported stolen. The complainant alleged that the couple had closely observed the movements of family members in advance. Police have registered a case under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master). Efforts are on to nab the absconding couple. A senior police officer said the suspects had disconnected the power supply to disable CCTV cameras. The complainant further told police that the couple were replacements for regular domestic staff Vikash and Maya and had agreed to work for a monthly salary of Rs 27,000. As of September 28, 38% of Russia's primary oil... refining capacity - equivalent to 338,000 tons per day - was out of operation. Drone attacks that have struck more than two dozen major oil refineries in Russia since early August have driven the Russian fuel market into an unprecedented crisis. Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories are affected, as well. The total capacity available for producing gasoline and diesel fell by 6% in August and a further 18% in September. The scale of refinery shutdowns has reached historic levels, surpassing the previous record in August (23%, or 206,000 tons per day), as well as earlier peaks in May 2022 (196,000 tons per day) and May 2020 (164,000 tons per day). Roughly 70% of the outages resulted from drone attacks: by the end of September, they had disabled about one-quarter of Russia's refining capacity, or some 236,000 tons per day. In September, four more Russian refineries halted production following drone strikes. These included Kinef in Leningrad region, the second-largest refinery in Russia, and Rosnef's Ryazan refinery, which ranks among the top five. Kinef shut down on September 14, Ryazan on September 5. In addition, the Novokuibyshevsk refinery suspended operations on September 20, and Gazprom's Astrakhan gas processing plant on September 22. In September, gasoline and diesel output fell short of targets by 10-11% - production was down by 1 million tons, while the domestic market deficit reached 20% of consumption, according to Russian media outlets. To compensate for lost capacity, many scheduled refinery maintenance works were postponed, making a rapid reduction in outages unlikely, as this could increase the risk of accidents at facilities not affected by strikes. Zarar Wazir, a resident of Paryat in Razmak, North... Waziristan, had recently completed his Hifz when he was approached by associates of Commander Abu Bakar, also known as Mohsin, who tried to recruit him into their group. The young boy eventually showed interest and began visiting their temporary hideout in the Mossaki area. During this time, the commander and senior militants reportedly exploited him and recorded compromising material to use as leverage in case he tried to leave their activities. Meanwhile, his parents and relatives were desperately searching for their missing son. Some local shepherds informed them that the boy had been lured and taken by militants belonging to Abu Bakar’s group in the Mossaki (JangJal) forests. The family went there several times and pleaded for his release, but their requests were rejected. They were even told that their son would soon attain “72 hoors” and that the family would also be rewarded with paradise for his sacrifice. When pressure started building for the boy’s release, the militants reportedly handed him over to another group. According to the account, he was sold to the HGB operations head, Commander Talwar Waziristani, for Rs. 500,000. Talwar then placed the boy under the supervision of his local area commander, Irshad Himati. Irshad and his associates allegedly prepared a Mazda truck packed with explosive drums and acid reportedly supplied by an Afghan militant named Mubariz Afghani to carry out a high-impact suicide attack. Before the attack, the boy was shown the intended target: the Chashmai check post near Miranshah in North Waziristan, where security forces were stationed. Information about a possible suicide attack had already been circulated across Miranshah, and security forces were on high alert. However, authorities did not have details about the boy or the specific vehicle. On the day of the incident, the truck approached the Chashmai Bridge check post on the main Bannu–Miranshah road. Only two security personnel were present at the post, and they opened fire as the truck moved closer. In panic, the boy detonated the explosives before reaching the HESCO barriers. The blast killed two civilians and left 18 others critically injured, while no security personnel lost their lives due to the prior alert. Most of the casualties occurred among passengers traveling in a Hiace coach and other vehicles that were passing by at the time of the explosion. Among the injured and affected were six people from his own village, Paryat Dirdoni, while the rest were from other areas of North Waziristan. The NTSB readings from the flight recorders show two pilots wrestling over the controls after both engines were shut down by hand, the automatic pilot was switched off and the jet was pushed into a nosedive as it cruised between Kunming and Guangzhou. In the face of public anger, Beijing has failed to publish a report. Last July the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration responded to an inquiry with a warning that “disclosure [about the crash] may, if released, endanger national security and social stability”. Beijing is under pressure from international aviation organizations to come clean over the disaster, which appears to have followed a similar pattern to suspected murder-suicide acts by airline pilots that have killed hundreds since 2014. The NTSB was asked to decode the flight recorders of Flight 5735 and transmitted its readings to China two weeks after their recovery in 2022. The US agency released extracts from its findings on Thursday in response to a Chinese citizen’s freedom of information request. “It was found that while cruising at 29,000ft, the fuel switches on both engines moved from the run position to the cut-off position,” the NTSB said. “Engine speeds decreased after the fuel switch movement.” Graphs of control inputs and the aircraft’s movement showed a pilot’s yoke pushing the aircraft into a steep dive and efforts by the other pilot to halt the dive. The two pilots were turning their yokes in opposite directions, commanding left or right rolls from the ailerons on the edges of the wings. The report said that a power failure had halted the data recorder after 90 seconds but the battery-powered crew voice recorder had continued. The agency did not reveal the contents, which it transmitted to Beijing at the time and said it had not stored a copy. Video from the ground showed the Boeing plunging vertically. The crew made no radio calls and no emergency radar code was transmitted. Previous Chinese reports have said that all systems appeared to have been functioning normally. Two months after the crash, a US investigator said “the plane did what it was told to do by someone in the cockpit”.
