FSD 14.2.2.5 on Mad Max gets pulled over by... a State Trooper for speeding 🚔🚨 A few interesting observations: When passing the State Trooper, FSD saw the vehicle and moved over into the left lane to yield more space (albeit without slowing down). When the trooper turned his lights on, FSD did initiate a turn signal as if it was going to pull off onto the shoulder. Unfortunately, I disengaged at this point and didn’t get to see if FSD would’ve actually stopped. Fortunately, only a warning was issued for speeding (allegedly). 🎟️show more

FSD took me into the HOV lane yet again... today despite me being the only passenger in the car. This time when I yanked it back into non-HOV lane and tried to engage FSD again, it blinked red asking me to take over immediately and displayed a message on screen saying FSD aborted due to system error. This is still a classic. Virginia State Trooper 2024.... Move-over laws exist because people keep almost killing the people who stop to help them. This trooper didn't create the hazard. The car was already stopped in a live lane on I-495. She was trying to get it moved when another vehicle started the chain reaction that nearly killed her. All 50 states have Move Over laws. 36% of drivers still neither slow down nor move over at roadside incidents. See the lights. See the obstacle. Move over. Slow down.show more

FSD prevented a wreck. My MYP was full of... people and we were heading to our next stop. The blinker was on for the upcoming turn lane. A red car pulled out in front of us and stopped. FSD kept us safe. I grabbed the wheel after FSD completely stopped out of instinct.show more

Almost got into an accident this afternoon while on... FSD. FSD thought the FedEx truck would make its turn quicker. When it realized it couldn't, it tried to go around. At the same time, there was a car approaching in the right lane. I assume FSD calculated there was space for me in the right lane, but it really should have just slowed down. I had to slam on the brakes and steer the car to the left to avoid the driver side of my car clipping the trucks bumper. It was way too close for comfort. I have done tens of thousands of miles on FSD and have never had anything this close happen before.show more

This time, it saw the oncoming car, but once it disappeared behind the trailer, FSD seemed to forget about it and proceeded as if the path was clear. I knew the car was still coming, so I disengaged. Here is why I disengaged FSD 14.3.3. Before this... clip starts, I could see a semi coming down the on ramp and saw that it had some momentum. FSD did not slow down but the truck in the right lane would have ran into the other semi and either had to brake real hard or switch lanes. I took over to make it clear to the semi driver that I would let them over. No big deal, would be nice, if FSD could have seen that coming and facilitated that move. Tesla AIshow more

FSD faced a real life trolley problem today and... everyone lived. I was messing with the MCU when I felt the truck jerk right and then a harder jerk left. Cresting a hill a lady was coming into my lane so FSD moved to the shoulder to avoid her but a jogger was coming so it quickly veered left to give room. 💪🤘show more

FSD 14.1.3 swerved AT a pedestrian at 4 seconds... in. At least that's what I thought at first. Then I looked back at the footage and saw that the car to my left veered into my lane and FSD moved me over so I didn't get hit. We drive with two eyes that can only see in one direction. Watch FSD v14.1.7 slow down on a 50 mph... two-way road to dodge several bodies of water by partially swerving to the opposing lane. I couldn’t see the standing water in my lane. Not only did FSD see it but also it made proper decision to go around it. The execution was flawless.show more

Since v14, FSD has this weird obsession with moving... from the inner lane to the outer lane during a left turn. For me, it happens on every two-lane left turn. And it does it in a very jerky, dangerous way — even if it means cutting in front of another car, FSD will still insist on doing it. Is this because FSD is more afraid of hitting the curb at the corner than of getting rear-ended by someone else? This really feels like a serious bug to me. I’m not sure whether it’s because the model is overfitted to avoid curbs during turns, or because it was trained to always end up in the rightmost lane after a left turn. I honestly don’t know, but I really hope this gets fixed soon.show more

Admittedly sometimes I roll my eyes when people say... “I didn’t see that, FSD prevented an accident” well it happened to me the other day and now I totally understand. I looked to my left and it looked pretty damn clear to go but FSD stuttered and stopped I was ready to press the accelerator, like why aren’t you going bro! By far the most unsafe driving by FSD HW#3... in my 8 year experience with it. Navigation gets confused and takes this left instead of the suicide lane next intersection. I was hoping it would slow down to a stop but it did not. The car to the right was thankfully paying attention and acted defensively to prevent an accident! Joe shared the raw footage with me and fed... it through CamCutApp Based on the telemetry it does appear that FSD turned the wheel back in the last moment before the driver took over. This happened really fast and probably pretty scary to experience. FSD seems to have reacted to a phantom orb and veered towards the oncoming vehicle for a moment.show more

I had the harshest braking on fsd 14.2 going... ~65mph on the interstate today. I just pulled the video footage & I'm sharing this for transparency. It was 30 degrees this morning & I defrosted the car before driving. It appears the camera still didn't have full visibility yet & was driving up until this point with no red wheel errors / visibility issues. Fsd braked hard when it saw the VDOT person in the shoulder but it overreacted IMO cuz it shouldn't brake that hard if the person isn't moving towards the lane. After seeing that haze on the camera, idk why fsd wasn't throwing any warnings. I did have a red wheel error this afternoon but that footage doesn't show any visibility issues. Be vigilant & always be ready to intervene / disengage. Luckily I was ready and hit the accelerator instantly to avoid a worse situation. Posting this as a Tesla FSD public service and... the outside chance Tesla see’s this. Yesterday FSD nearly drove into the concrete jersey barrier on hwy 17 as I was traveling to Santa Cruz California. I intervened a fraction of a second before impact. This video doesn’t show the event but does show the conditions a few minutes later when I thought to honk the horn to save a clip. I have used FSD for years and this was the most epic fail. Note that there is little margin for error. I am on hw3 and have NOT received 14 lite Tesla AI Elon Musk Please tag the appropriate team if you can.show more

Just had one of the worst drives I've ever... had in 5 years with FSD in the rain ... for some reason even though it limits you to Standard it would not stop getting into the left lane (and was capped at speed limit). And the left lane was flooded in spots... Tesla AI - the left lane obsession needs to end. At this point it's bizarre. Especially in these conditions. I manually had to move the car back to the right 10 times in 5 minutes. And overall ... I'm not going to lie I could not see anything. My heart rate was probably at 150 bpm. So I want to be an FSD but I don't want to be 3 ft from a barrier hydroplaning.. When the speed is limited in these conditions and it won't go the speed limit anyway - FSD NEEDS to stay out of the left lane!!!show more

I had a great first day with FSD v14.1.4!... Multiple hands-free, point-to-point rides with no disengagements. A few “brake stabbing” events were slightly annoying but not dangerous. However, one odd event occurred today that Tesla AI and Ashok Elluswamy may want to investigate. I was going straight on FSD, the car in front turned right. For some reason, instead of just slowing down, my car veered right, activated the right signal, and stopped, letting the car behind pass before proceeding.
