I have not seen enough about the decision from... Mike Vrabel and Tim Kelly to go for 2 down by 8 last night. Here’s why I loved it: 1) NFL teams this season have been successful on 55% of two-point conversion attempts. The odds were in the Titans’ favor. 2) Will Levis was dealing in the 2nd half. 3) Titans still had all three timeouts and the two-minute warning. 4) Miami struggled to move the ball on offense all night. Their three scoring drives went for 12, 7, and 59 yards. 5) If successful on the two-point conversion, a stop on defense and a TD wins the game. If unsuccessful, you can still send it to OT. 6) Titans offense marched down the field, scored the TD to make it a one possession game and essentially told Miami, “we are going for two because we know you cannot stop us right now.” The odds are in your favor. It’s a good mathematical decision. You want to psych out an opposing offense? Give them the ball knowing they need to run the clock out, or you are going to have a chance to WIN the game, not send it to overtime. They saw what your offense just did to their defense. They saw your QB on the sideline screaming and hyping everyone up. Cutting the lead to six put WAY more pressure on the Dolphins offense. You want to hype up your defense? Put them back on the field knowing your offense just did their job. Put them back on the field knowing a stop and a TD wins it. At that point, they aren’t in the mindset of “we need a stop to have a chance to go to OT.” They are thinking, “let’s go out here, get a stop, and give our offense a chance to WIN.” There’s a fundamental difference in playing to WIN and playing NOT to LOSE. This was a decision by a coaching staff that was playing to WIN. Brilliant game by Vrabel and Kelly. Brilliant execution late in the game by the offense and the defense. This is why I fell in love with the... fans of Red Star Belgrade (Delije). I have never seen or played in a better atmosphere than this one especially when we play at the Maracana stadium. With Delije away games feels like home games and that pressure to always get the first goal early to trigger the fans can be good or bad sometimes if you don't score early. I love every song I love how both old and young people show their love and support for the team. Red Star is like the Real Madrid of the Balkan region with a lot of history and great traditions. Here's another interesting detail about fishing🎣 We all remember... the scene in the novel where Shen Wenlang took Gaotu fishing. Then, in the October 20th live stream, they listed fishing as one of the three things they've done together. At the time, 🌲 explained it was a spur-of-the-moment thing. However, what makes this even more interesting is that they had already brought up fishing earlier, during the live stream with Lele. Right after 🌊 said he would take Lele out to play, he murmured "go fishing," and 🌲 nodded in agreement. My son’s coach pitch team won their playoff game... Saturday. But he barely remembers the game. After the game, we had a potluck at the park. I brought out my Legends summer camp playlist, fired up the speaker, and before long... Every player and sibling was singing and dancing for well over an hour. It was pure joy. Parents laughed. Took photos and videos. Bonded. And on the walk back to the car, my son looked at me and said: “Dad, that party was so much fun.” He didn’t even mention the game. And that stuck with me. As youth coaches, we have limited impact on what happens between the lines. We can teach the game. We can prepare. But we can’t control the outcome. Where we can have the most impact… Is outside the lines. That’s where the magic lives. That’s where the memories are made. So yes—let’s compete. Let’s aim to win. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to teach, this profession is not for you. 2. Our students are not “ours”. They are their families, and we need to understand the magnitude of the calling, and responsibility we have to meet them where they are, and to help them to get to a place that they never thought possible. 3. As important as the curriculum is (and it IS important), the children in our classroom are what matter most. It’s our JOB to teach the curriculum to SERVE our students, NOT to use our students to push any sort of agenda. 4. Just as we teach our students to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our students better than they were when they first entered into our classroom. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every child. 5. We should not teach our children WHAT to think, but HOW to think, and how to use that knowledge to bless and serve not only themselves, but the world around them. 6. Our words carry little (or NO value), if we do not practice what we preach. 7. If we don’t make learning fun, children will view learning as a chore, and we we will be creating a generation of children who grow up to be young adults who don’t see the joy in learning new things. 8. The child that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Never tell a child they “can’t” do something. God has blessed each of them with far more strengths and talents than we may know, and it’s not our job to tell them what they can’t do, but to help them to realize all the things they CAN do. 10. I was visiting Goa with my wife a couple... of years ago. We were in this cosy little resort in South Goa right on Agonda beach, run by a middle aged Goanese couple. We had stayed there for three days and on the 4th day we drove to North Goa, walked into a bar and got drunk and so had to check in at a different hotel for the night. At 11:30 ish, the lady from the resort called us to check if we were okay and that she had waited up to see if we would return. I thanked her and assured her that everything is okay. I don’t think I have or will experience this anywhere else, and I am a fairly well traveled person. India, with all its follies, can sometimes give you the most heartwarming experiences. It straight up screams retirement, kills all shock value, and WWE would never allow something like that. Why would they want to spoil it – My prediction is AJ wins at the Rumble and retires later at WrestleMania 42. If you’re gonna retire, why not do it on the grandest stage – We’ve also seen reports before suggesting WWE might be planning a proper retirement tour for AJ. My husband and I decided to open our hearts... to a 10-and-a-half-year-old dog. We weren't looking to adopt another dog, but when we learned that she had spent three months at the shelter without a single visitor or adoption inquiry, we couldn't bear the thought of her growing old and passing away alone. Although she wasn't with a rescue organization, her story was shared widely throughout the animal rescue community. She was incredibly gentle and sweet, and the shelter volunteers adored her. They loved her so much that they often let her spend time with them in the office instead of leaving her alone in her kennel. The day after we heard about her, we went to meet her. The moment we saw her, we knew we couldn't walk away. When we brought her home, she was covered in ticks. Helping her recover wasn't easy. We made countless trips to the veterinarian, patiently tried different treatments, and devoted a great deal of time to her care. There were moments when it felt overwhelming, but we never regretted our decision. All we wanted was for her to spend the rest of her life surrounded by love. In the end, we received the greatest gift of all. She stayed with us for three more wonderful years before peacefully passing away at 13 and a half years old, an impressive age for a dog. She brought so much joy into our family and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Senior dogs may not have as much time left, but they deserve love, care, and a real home just as much as any other dog. 🐾❤️ 📹treatsnatchershow more
