Here is “one more thing” from GPT-6 Astra that... completely blew my mind!🤯 Asked it to create the 3D structures of 2 proteins, green fluorescent protein (GFP) & interleukin-2 (IL-2), then design a fusion protein combining them, which doesn't occur naturally, using AlphaFold-OMG! It did it and I watched it make it on my computer in 9 minutes, my mouth open! Astra (GPT-6) is here!!! I've had early access and... tested it like crazy with things like games, code, writing, browser control, presentations and general knowledge work. This is the best model I've ever used. Period. (Incredible demos below in this thread ⬇️) Here's my take on Astra: > It's insanely capable. This feels like a massive improvement, not just an incremental change. This is especially true with zero-shot prompts. > It's all about knowledge work. Slide creation, analysis, writing, and browser control. And oh my...it's so good at browser control. GPT-5.6 was already fantastic at doing things in the browser, Astra is another level and significantly faster. > We're closer than ever (arrived?) at prompt-to-playable game. And I don't just mean only playable, these are actually fun games. I bet if someone with a great eye for games used Astra, they could create a viral game within 1-2 weeks. > Astra is better at writing but not perfect. It removes much of the "AI Smell" we're all familiar with but some stink still survived. > It has a tendency to use the same design colors and look/feel as GPT-5.6 (forrest green anyone?) but it is more steerable in design than previous models. > It's highly steerable in general. A little nudge goes a long way. When I first started using Astra, almost every task I gave it would go for ~30 minutes. I wanted it to keep working. Adding more specifics to a prompt helped greatly with it's ability to work for a long time. > Astra's 3D understanding is unmatched. 3D asset creation was consistent and easy and its spacial awareness while building complex 3D worlds blew me away. I just tried the new Gemini-4 Pro Preview and... honestly, for 3D work it’s right up there with Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra, all in a single shot, I genuinely didn’t expect it to be this good, It only used around 10% of my weekly limit on the $20 plan, I’m going to make a comparison video against Opus 5.2 or Fable and Astra if I can, I still can’t believe it, From what I’ve tested so far, this is easily top 1 or 2 for the best one shot execution I’ve seenshow more

I wanted to showcase some of the sprite work... i did for my Lost lands set. Made some new stuff and reworked a LOT of old stuff 😎 i definitely underestimated the amount of work. My full set is about 43 songs, so that means 43 individual visuals. it took me about 2 weeks just to adjust everything i had for the big mainstage screen. Bon bread is what we eat in my house,... and honestly we’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve even recommended it to a few friends, and none of them have complained so far. ✨ I can now generate 3d assets for my... drone sim at directly from Cursor (sponsor of #vibejam) I need buildings that you'd see in a war torn city, like warehouses in ruins, broken down abandoned houses, bombed out bridges etc. Nano Banana Pro or 2 can generate them really well and then you can put them in an image-to-3d model and you get a GLB or FBX That one you can then import into your Three.js game, the models might be big though, in my case like 16MB, so I ask it to compress it and make it more low poly so it loads fast ThreeJS then loads the individual GLBs on page load and puts them in my drone sim somewhere randomly, I think I should remove some of the grass and match the sandy color of the ruins though to make it fit in moreshow more

Here's why, straight from OpenAI's new Astra guide: Astra isn't a faster GPT-5 It's a different worker GPT-5 needed instructions. Astra needs boundaries. So most of what I had written was noise. → "Run tests after every change." It already does that. → "Check with me before continuing." It already does that too, sometimes too much. The stuff that actually matters: → Where can it assume, and where does it need to ask? Spell that out. → What does done look like? If you don't say, it won't know when to stop. → Which rule wins when two clash? Old AGENTS.md files are full of contradictions Astra now takes literally. → Keep your skills short. One sentence each. Long descriptions blur together and it ends up ignoring all of them. Old way → Micromanage every step → Astra stalls New way → Set the boundaries → Astra runs Stop writing prompts like a manager hovering over someone's desk. This feels less like ""AI image generation"" and more... like actually directing a shot. Turns out GPT-6 Astra + Dreamina Seedance 2.5 is an actual pipeline. I started with a real photo and used GPT-6 Astra + Blender to recreate it as a clay-style scene. Then I used Seedance 2. 5 to figure out the movement and camera motion. The last step happens in Dreamina - turning that clay animation into a live-action result. I was 11 years old when I got this... PSP 3000 for Christmas back in 2008, and it absolutely blew my mind. FIFA, FlatOut, Iron Man, GTA, and many other games… so many hours, so many great memories.
