In Google Flights, results are nearly instantaneous, you can apply filters without reloading, and there's virtually no advertising clutter. It has a price calendar, a price history graph, price-tracking alerts, and a "Best flights" ranking that weighs cost against duration and layovers instead of simply sorting by price. Why is Google burying its own superior product? Because of the EU's Digital Markets Act, of course. And now the EU is hitting Google with another billion-euro fine because it still isn't demoting its own services enough. The finding is the latest development in an ongoing investigation by Drop Site contributors Camila Lourdes Galarza and Tomi McCluskey into strikes, abductions, and torture by U.S. forces. It is the first aircraft identified at the scene and matches fishermen’s accounts of drones circling their boats before the attacks. Survivors say “gringos in U.S. military uniforms” seized them at gunpoint, hooded and handcuffed them, beat some, and starved them for eight days before turning them over to El Salvador’s navy, hundreds of miles from home. I think the Tesla understands the world much better. Why? There were eight Teslas around me on the freeway today. Start there. No other robot company has that data. But my robot is parked at the local high school twice a day. Its cameras see humans in all of our weirdness. How we move. Where we go. Where we walk. Who we talk with. What you are wearing. Whether your hair was combed this morning. That data will lead to robotics breakthroughs. Apple might keep up with its Vision Pro data, but it is too freaked out by the privacy implications of using said data. (On the front are six cameras and a couple of TOF -- Time Of Flight -- sensors that can see everything in your home in great detail). Google has a lot of data, for sure. All my: 1. Email. 2. Calendars. 3. Photos. 4. TV watching behavior. 5. Contacts. 6. Documents and spreadsheets. 7. Files. 8. Location data. So I expect Google's robot will be attractive to many. But how do you see the others shake out over the next five years? Make some guesses. But remember what an AI pioneer told me years ago about AI: it's all about the data. The Chinese ones have huge advantages: the Chinese have more data on their citizens, and many more citizens to boot AND they can make robots cheaper than we can. Karpathy's Agentic Engineering finally has proper tooling! (built by... Google) Karpathy defined agentic engineering as the discipline that separates production agent work from vibe coding. The core skills he listed were spec design, eval loops, and security oversight. The problem has been that practicing this still requires a different tool for every phase: - editor for code - a terminal for scaffolding - a browser for testing - a cloud console for deployment - and a separate framework for evals. Every transition is a context switch. The solution to production-grade Agentic Engineering is now actually implemented in Google’s Agents CLI. It covers the entire workflow in one place for scaffolding, evaluating, and deploying ADK agents. One setup command injects 7 ADK-specific skills into a coding agent's context, which lets it handle scaffolding, evals, deployment, and enterprise registration through natural language. I tested this end-to-end by building a RAG agent from scratch using Claude Code. It scaffolded the full project from the ADK agentic_rag template, generated 20 eval scenarios with LLM-as-judge scoring, and returned a quantitative scorecard. Finally, it also deployed everything to Agent Runtime and registered the agent to Gemini Enterprise, so the entire org can discover and use it. I AM LIVID. Let me tell you what just... happened. Last week I set up my AI agent. First thing I did: review my website security. What it found made my blood BOILLLL. Over 50 invisible links to gambling websites were BURIED in the source code of …..they were hidden from anyone visiting the site BUT fully visible to Google. Pointing to casinos like Pin-Up, Mostbet, 1Win, and Parimatch…. I didn’t know it was a thing until I found out it’s actually called SEO spam injection. Hackers break into your website and hide their casino links in your code. Google crawls your site and thinks YOU are vouching for their sketchy gambling platforms. It tanks your SEO and boosts theirs…ALL while you have absolutely no idea it's happening, you think your website sucks, and people don’t even bother to look at it. To the gambling sites tanking my SEO: I don't care what you do with your life. But hijacking small businesses to do it? That's just pathetic. It’s low. And it’s plain sad. The wild part: I never would have caught this without my AI agent. Shoutout to Clawbot for literally saving my website. AI out here protecting businesses while we sleep. Google dropped a new AI paper called LUMIERE. It's... remarkably flexible, supporting video inpainting, image-to-video, AND stylized video generation tasks. Say hello to “space-time diffusion” for video generation! Now what the heck does that mean exactly?! 🌐⏳ → TL;DR it utilizes a “Space-Time UNet” architecture that generates the full duration of the video in one pass, rather than generating distant keyframes and interpolating between them like prior works. Because the computation is done in this “compressed space-time representation” to generate the full clip at once, it's far more temporally consistent. → Another benefit of generating the full video at once is that you can “direct” the video generation, making it easier to hand off to other models/tasks without having to stitch together partial solutions. You can condition generations on additional inputs, meaning you get the full stack of AI video capabilities – from video inpainting to image-to-video and beyond. → New SOTA for AI video generation? User study results in the paper suggest human evaluators preferred Lumiere over Runway Gen-2, Pika Labs, and Stable Video Diffusion in terms of quality, text alignment AND motion. But as always, we need to get hands-on with this tech when Google *actually* decides to ship it. → Could this end up inside YouTube? When Does Protest Go too far and when Do... Police Actions go too far? This video from pro-Palestinian protests in Brooklyn, New York last night is starting to circulate. Here you have thousands of protestors who refused to vacate the Bay Ridge street, which they had flooded for hours. Police ended up arresting over a dozen people, but this video stands out as you can see an officer clearly letting loose on protestors. Please note that the full context of the events here are not known. Also note that just because you may not agree with the protestors, it doesn't necessarily mean that the officers were right in this situation. Clearly things were incredibly tense.
