In 2022 I drove across the country to watch the Vols beat Alabama for the first time in 15 years. I watched in the stands with the two people that made me a VFL— my mom and my dad. I cried real tears and as dumb as it might sound to some, it was a dream come true. Two years later I get a dream job— sports anchor in Knoxville. That already didn’t feel real. This time the third Saturday in October rolled around and another dream came true. I got to watch my favorite team beat Alabama in the house that built me.
