I was digging around the HyperCard 1.0.1 floppy image... tonight, as one does, and found a curious private file: FONT 31756. It's a font file containing all of the glyphs for HyperCard's tool palette, likely created by Kristee Kreitman and Marge Boots (credited in the app for Graphic Art). I can't believe they were using this technique back in 1987, although it seems Bruce Tognazzini invented it with MouseText two years prior (!). From 30 years ago, a spacecraft I designed and... rendered using POVRay for an animation I created portraying the diversion of a comet using a nuclear weapon. This wasn't designed in a modeling program, it was hand drafted and the geometry transcribed into POV Scene description language by hand.show more

Hello artists, I have a problem! I'm looking for... a way to fix this issue in Clip Studio Paint: As you can see in the video, my shadow layer is clipped to my base color layer, but it's still stretching the color to the edges of the base color. I've tried looking for an option or something to fix this, but haven't found anything. I've changed my brush settings, created a new brush, etc., but nothing works. I went back to Paint Tool SAI and saw that when I make a selection, it doesn't do this in Paint Tool SAI. So I tried it in Clip Studio Paint, and unfortunately, the problem persists. It spreads the color to the selection edges where Paint Tool SAI doesn't. If anyone has a solution, a better-programmed brush, an add-on, or anything that can fix this problem, I would be very grateful!show more

You may not know this about me. During COVID... I attempted for 3 years to build a bridge from the farm gate to the local town. We were the center of the plate of many local restaurants, as well as portioned controlled meats for major food distributors. We went from 6 to 46 employees 20k a month to 800k/month. But it didn't just take my 46... it took a constellation of other people filling in the gaps. Tearing it down was just as much work as building it. I am proud of where I stand now with everyone involved. I grew more with that storm. For a while I was embarrassed that I couldn't make this thing run forward. One day I decided to look at it from a different angle. I decoupled experience from failure. Today I want to facilitate whatever it takes to pick up the pieces of what I learned to help whoever it is that wants to be part of the change in direction. I don't want to own the damn thing. I want to find the missing pieces of the puzzle so we can build back better.show more

Four years ago, I was laying in a hospital... bed for a routine procedure when a new tune came to me. It was just before Rosh Hashana and the words of אתה זוכר, which were ringing in my head, fit seamlessly with the melody. I knew there was something "Ribo" about the song and wanted to have Ishay Ribo - ישי ריבו sing it. Unbeknownst to me, Ishay had already been thinking of a duet with Mordechai Ben David for a while, and they were waiting for the perfect song that would compliment both of their styles. It seems MBD liked the song as well because "אתה זוכר" was born not too long after! I couldn't be more proud of the results. I hope you are as inspired listening to it as I was writing it.show more

I was at a beach club in Bali with... a few friends. We were drinking, hanging out, and eventually they decided to head home. I wasn’t ready to leave, so I stayed. I ended up talking to a group of Australian girls. We were all getting along, and after a while they asked if I’d buy everyone a round of shots. I did. One round turned into several. By the end of it I’d had around 6-7 shots and was definitely drunk. Then one of the girls asked for my Instagram. She took my phone to add herself. In January, we lost 15 cows to January Disease.... The dip in Gutu near our homestead is about 10kms away, so the lads on the ground often didn't bother going. Ticks where the cause. For ten years I ripped around in that bad boy. I wasn’t what one would call “car savvy” and so it was about three years in, during my drive to a session one day that I finally tried the button for the sun roof. This week I got to interview Hamish McArthur for... Climbing Gold. One of the interesting nuggets was that he said one of his gifts as a climber (besides being the first person to climb V17 in a session…) was his ability to quickly assess and learn from his movement.
