While I have premium I definitely want to do... a long post breaking down the main scene from this show that I obsess with. There's so much that I feel could be learned from it. Not just for expansion animators either. There's honestly a LOT that can be learned from how this show directed its expansion scenes that can be applied to even safe for work animations. Obviously yes, the expansion alone is really good. What makes it so good though is just the fact that there's things you pick up on that you likely don't even realize until you re-watch. I'm using this scene as an example as it's not AS good I would say, but it still has a lot going for it. One thing I've always loved from it that I want to use in my own animations someday is that the expansion sort of comes in waves as opposed to one consistent growth. In a way, it makes it feel more natural while also selling how tight the top is getting. It could have been accompanied by showing the knot getting tighter or smaller with each growth. It's a small part of the animation but just that one thing already adds another layer to appreciate. It's not like most expansion scenes where there's very little outside of just "growing" on its own. There's a bunch of little things that subtly improve it without being obnoxious. well, didn't die, but i kinda almost did. kinda... scary and it was my first real "wtf I'm not invincible" moment. it honestly messed my head up, I'm still processing it and kinda depressed about it. today was my first day being able to do anything physical at all. I walked for 30 minutes on a treadmill. tomorrow I'll try some very light compound lifts just for movements sake. I didn’t expect Grok’s video model to improve this... much. Today, when I was generating a video with Seedance 2.0, I found the results weren’t very good. So I tried using the exact same source material and prompt in Grok instead. To my surprise, Grok actually produced better results than Seedance 2.0. Seedance 2.5 launched today. But it fairly disappointed me.... In terms of the realistic side, I know it's doing very good! But for the anime side, it's a true regression. The model has an insane amount of noise that is literally so weird. Fast-paced actions feel like paintings, not true anime anymore. I don't know what happened with the training of this model, but in terms of anime, it became a true regression. There is better camera work on 2.5! That's for sure, but the quality took a heavy, heavy hit (art style as well). I hope Dreamina AI sees this. But a fix is needed because anime is totally broken on this model at the current moment.show more

Uhhhhhh I was admiring this beautiful view and took... a bad step and just sprained my ankle — THE ONE THING you can’t do early on in a hiking trip to #norway and #iceland I’ve planned for months…grrrrrrr! Now I have to hike down this mountain for 2 hours on a busted ankle so please pray for me! Very similar to trading, all it takes is one bad/cocky trade to blow up — especially for short sellers — so it’s at least a good lesson to be extra-careful when hiking on uneven ground and trading in a choppy market like we’re seeing right now!show more

Kitten update #8: The kitties are back home! Everyone... is getting very strong and active now. I forgot to take their weights this morning so I'll have to do it before the next feeding, but I'm confident everyone is continuing to gain. We started adding in some wet food today. I mixed up a slurry with some of the formula and stuck it in a syringe with a nipple on it. Nobody took to it right away except gray tuxedo, who loved it, but everyone else got some squirted in while they were chewing on the milk nipple and then they loved it. Well, except for dark tortie, which is a little ironic since she is by far the biggest little monster of the litter, but I guess she's done so well on the formula she's not interested in making a change yet. Butts are all looking SO much better now that I stopped using the wet wipes. However, we have now started to have some concerns about little to no pooping. Dark tortie hasn't pooped for 24 hours so I eliminated the yogurt from the formula and am crossing my fingers for some action before the end of the day or back to the vet she goes. I don't know how long they'll let me play with their tummies like this but it sure is fun for now!show more

This is Bertha - and this is exactly the... situation I have been struggling with. She was my first cow purchase. Bought her as a milk cow and then soon learned she was mostly past time for being a good milk cow. She’s about 14 or 15 years old. Still gives a calf each year but her time for a natural end is coming quickly. Many would take her to the sale barn, receive some money for her. It’s difficult to explain but that feels wrong - it’s not, but it feels terrible. So at this point she will likely live her life out here, she’ll serve as a lead cow (she’s really not great for that either), but she will do okay. She means a lot to me and I just don’t want to think of her at auction or otherwise being transported somewhere away from this farm. So for now, and likely until her very end, she remains here.show more

I told my 65 year old father NOT TO... GO to the Pudgy Pop up! My parents live in NYC, I asked them about the pop-up to see how close it is. Turns out it's 50 minutes and 2 train rides away. I'm not gonna put him through that journey. Saturday night, he calls me up & sends me this video In the video, he says: "This is very very very incredible. So very! It's very beautiful!" I share this to say this is a 65 Yr old man who knows nothing about this world except what I share with him. He went to casually pick up an item & surprise us, waited in line, & got the warmest treatment from the team. Walked out with the Pudgy Bouquet for us and the Pax & Polly keychains for him and my mom (jealous) and stories he could not stop talking about The phone call was literally him just going on and on about the vibe, the staff, the smiles, the people and everything in between. My dad went to his first Pudgy event before I did & I'm happy for it! Thank you Pudgy Penguins for putting a smile on my old man's face and getting him to feel the Pudgy experience IRL.
