Errors by political and military leaders, combined with slow support from the West, have led to significant losses in both territory and lives in the Pokrovsk axis. For instance, I personally have reservations about the operation in Kursk for my own reasons. However, I am fully committed to doing everything I can to save Ukrainian lives during this operation. I was pleased to personally greet @ABaerbock at the... Kyiv train station this morning. This is a symbol of our gratitude for her personal efforts to support Ukraine over the years. This is her ninth visit since Russia's full-scale invasion, and the eleventh of her tenure. On Maidan, we paid tribute to the fallen Ukrainian defenders, who gave their lives protecting Ukraine and all of Europe. I thanked my colleague for her work that has contributed to Germany taking the lead in supporting Ukraine, including the recent €3 billion military aid package, and saving thousands upon thousands of Ukrainian lives. I presented Annalena with our special MFA of Ukraine 🇺🇦 award for supporting Ukraine's diplomatic efforts in recognition of her personal efforts. During our talks, we discussed current bilateral and international issues, including ways to achieve a just and lasting peace, strengthen Ukraine, put more pressure on the aggressor, and hold Russia accountable for its crimes. I am grateful to Canada for its strong support... of the PURL initiative. The additional $200 million announced today by Prime Minister Mark Carney is an important contribution to protecting our people from Russia's constant ballistic strikes. In total, Canada has already allocated more than $830 million to support this initiative. These are decisions that truly save lives. During the meeting, we discussed in detail strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Canada, further support for our people, and efforts to bring back Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. I met with the President of the Council of... Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, in Rome. We had an excellent and very substantive discussion on all aspects of the diplomatic situation. We appreciate Italy’s active role in generating practical ideas and defining steps to bring peace closer. I briefed her on the work of our negotiating team, and we are coordinating our diplomatic efforts. We are counting greatly on Italy’s continued support – it matters for Ukraine. I also want to express my gratitude for the package of energy assistance, the necessary equipment – this is exactly what will support Ukrainian families, our people, children, and everyday life in our cities and communities, which continue to endure constant Russian attacks. Over the past month, we’ve made great progress supporting... Ukraine with vital engineering equipment. Thanks to your help, we’ve delivered several machines to frontline brigades, but the demand keeps growing, and we can’t do it alone. Here’s what we’ve achieved recently in Kharkiv, led by the amazing work of vaycartana and our team: 🚜 Repaired and delivered 5 Yanmar excavators 🏗️🚛 Supplied 4 crane trucks to units like the 92nd, 3rd, 43rd, 154th, and 43rd artillery brigades. Smaller vehicles went to several other units as well. Before the year ends, we’re aiming to deliver 2 more excavators and 2 crane trucks to the 58th Brigade and Kord. We’ve also started building armored cages for Krab systems and infantry vehicles to defend against FPV drones. In total, the equipment is valued at $400,000. But with new requests pouring in, we need to raise an additional $150,000 to keep up. I had a good meeting with the Prime Minister... of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen Statsministeriet. We discussed the continuation of military support and direct investments in Ukraine’s defense industry. Denmark is one of the leaders in supporting our state and is preparing the 26th package of military aid for Ukraine. This support helps save lives, and we deeply appreciate it. We also talked about the negotiations in Istanbul and the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the U.S. and European partners. We share the view that pressure on Russia is crucial if they refuse to agree to a ceasefire. In July this year, Denmark will begin its Presidency of the EU Council. We are counting on their support for Ukraine’s European integration, which we discussed during the meeting. I met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.... We coordinated our positions ahead of the upcoming meeting of the Coalition of Willing. Now is the time when there is a real chance to end the war and stop Russia. To achieve this, we must continue increasing pressure on the Russian Federation, expand support for Ukraine, and finalize the security guarantees. We discussed the consequences of Russian strikes on Ukraine and the strengthening of our air defense and energy resilience – this is one of our key priorities at this stage. Today, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is in Ukraine.... During our meeting, we discussed, first and foremost, what next joint steps of ours can provide Ukraine and all of Europe with greater security and bring the real end of the war closer. Most importantly, this includes our diplomacy, security guarantees, and weapons for our warriors. In particular, the PURL program is already operating, enabling the purchase of American weapons with partner funding. We already have $1.5 billion from European countries. This is significant. Discussed diplomatic efforts to bring an end to Russia’s... war against Ukraine and Europe’s role in this process with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb Alexander Stubb. Transatlantic unity on the path to peace is essential. We coordinated our positions on the next steps. Importantly, during our meetings, partners note Ukraine is now in its strongest battlefield position over the past year and has become a reliable security provider in Europe and other regions. Our teams are already working on preparing a Drone Deal, and we expect a prompt result. Special attention was given to Ukraine’s European integration. A necessary window of opportunity has now emerged to open all six negotiation clusters. I thank Finland for its support of the PURL initiative, which is helping greatly protect lives in Ukraine, especially in light of massive Russian air strikes like the one we are seeing today. The key priority is working on strengthening our defense and obtaining licenses from the United States for the production of air defense equipment. As long as there are no meaningful signals from Russia about ending the war, it is crucial to strengthen our defense and especially to invest in Ukrainian production.
