Shaq is back with us. I’m not meant to... have favorites but he has always been one of mine. The hardest part is making the right decisions for the dogs on an ongoing basis… 🏀 We fixed him initially and it took 2 months and 3 operations. Hardly any vets would take on the operation and it was a case of nearly losing him. 🌴 He recovered well. I used to love spending time with him as we had such a deep bond during his recovery at Happy Doggo 🐕 Shaq was not suitable for adoption. He’s a street dog through and through. He was a bad around other other dogs and quite old. I thought long and hard about his options 🏡 We found him his safe place to live. Some locals would look out for him and he was in no danger. He had shelter, regular food and 2 other friends he knew. Shaq loved it there. 💊 I would call down to him every month with his meds and for a check up with some sausages. He has been doing great. ☔️ Recently with very damp weather and humid temperatures a lot of dogs have been getting skin issues. Shaq has some of the worst I’ve seen despite being ok 2 weeks ago when I last saw him. 🦠 Shaq has a bacterial and fungal infection. 🧑🏽‍⚕️ We’ve brought him in for a 2 week stay to get it all fixed up and all his blood work and other little bits fixed. It’s like a spa break for him. People were messaging me asking if I was angry he ended up like this. Not at all. Shaq is a street dog who has a great life but he just needs some medicines and care now. Just like any pet or other dog we look after. I always told Shaq we’d look after him no matter what so it’s nice to have him back for a little bit of pampering.show more

Had the most strange night in a LONG time.... At midnight, my ring cameras go off at the shop with deputies all over the property... I have no idea what is happening, and it gets insane from there. Moral of the story? You cannot be kind to people any more. A former employee reached out a week ago and asked if his girlfriend (who is like a daughter to me) and his 2 year old daughter could stay with us for a few days. I told him we didn't have room at the house currently, BUT she was welcome to stay in my RV at my shop until we could find her a place. I would make sure she was safe, and taken care of. This young man has been like family since he was 13. I taught him to weld. I have given him vehicles, employed him multiple times, etc. Tried my best to talk him out of the stupid stuff he does. Just petty crimes, fighting, evading police, etc. I have tried for years to get him to just straighten up and be the man I know he could be. Day before yesterday, he tells me he has a warrant out for his arrest and I tell him he cannot stay there with her. I can't have him staying there and getting me involved with whatever shit he had going on. She is welcome to stay, but he can't be there. He lost his mind and called me all sorts of things as he stomped out. Well, last night he decided he was staying there regardless, and when she wouldn't unlock the door, he decided to put his fist through the glass. Drugs destroy people, man. This young man had so much potential and I have tried and tried to get him clean and get him to a good life... Buster Gets His Happy Ending 🥹🐶🥰🙏 Buster was on... a chain for years on cold concrete. We were told it was because he was vicious and dangerous. It turns out he was the complete opposite. He only knew love and his fav thing to do was sniff the flowers. The first part of his long recovery was his health… 👂 He had to have an ear removed as it had been left for so long 🫁 He could hardly walk 10 yards as he was so unfit. We were able to build his stamina up 🧫 He had a bad fungal infection all over. It took lots of care and bathing to fix 🥴 Buster started having epileptic fits. It was vital he had an owner who could help him with his medicine and care. He found that owner in Kitty who came all the way to visit him. To say they fell in love would be an understatement. She takes him on hikes, he goes to work with her as a tennis coach and every video I see he is sleeping in her bed with a big stuffed toy. Although his medical history is complicated he is well looked after now and proves that you should never give up in life. There is always hope. I’ve never met a friendlier or more gentle dog in my whole life than Buster. He deserves this. Well done to Buster and Kitty 🥰🙏show more

Hank the Tank has fully healed now. He’s is... the friendliest and biggest goofball I’ve ever met. All the humans and especially the other dogs adore him. I need to find him a home as nobody deserves it more… ⚽️ His favorite things are running, playing and treats. ✈️ He’s too big to fly anywhere at 32kg and his height 🇹🇭 He is looking for a home in Thailand. I’d pay for his transport anywhere ✂️ Fully healthy and getting sterilized this week 📆 He’s about 5-6 years old 😢 When we fixed him and told his owners they said “keep him” I spend a lot of time with dogs. Hank is the one I’d pick if I had a choice. He’s so fun and also loving and gentle. He is the centre of everything that is going on. He’d love to be in a home and even though he is the biggest softie I know his big face will scare people off and protect you!! Any help finding Hank a home would be much appreciated. 🥰🙏show more

Everyone please join me in celebrating a very special... agent at Matthews™, Ryan Garveigh, who is based out of our Atlanta, GA office. This past June, in his first year in brokerage, at 24 years old, Ryan was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system, and Ryan was immediately started on a chemotherapy plan to treat the disease. I heard about Ryan’s diagnosis shortly after he received it so I called his cell phone to check in on him and tell him we were all thinking of him, and get this… When I was talking to him I asked him “what are you up to right now?” And he replied, “well to be honest, I am currently sitting here getting my first treatment of chemo while making cold calls”… I couldn’t believe it. Dude was getting chemo injected into his veins and yet was still hitting the phones trying to talk to owners, set meetings, and build his business. Ryan was not going to let his cancer diagnosis get in the way of him building the life he envisioned for himself. Needless to say I was beyond inspired and impressed with his mental toughness, and while I told him I appreciated the hustle, I did encourage him to focus on his health, and not let the stress of making “coldies” affect his recovery. Regardless, he ensured me he would take it easy if it became too much… Well fast forward six months, and here is a video Ryan just sent me this morning of him leaving the hospital after completing his full chemotherapy treatment, and I wanted to share the video and good news with all of you. This is a reminder to be grateful for things we take for granted, like our health, it is a reminder that “fair” in life is all a matter of perspective, and it is an example of the mental toughness and lack of victim mentality we are all capable of. It has come to my attention that there's a... video in circulation of a Ugandan actor Jovan Victor Nsubuga who is homeless in the streets of Canada. I woke up to inbox messages of the video asking me "ISN'T THIS JOVAN?" The little i know about Jovan is that he is a brilliant actor who left the Uganda in such of greener pastures but the plans did not go well. When he was still in Uganda, I was contacted about how Jovan was struggling with addiction and he had moved back to his mother's house in Lugazi. One of the things that hit us hard as artists is isolation. Many times, many of us feel left out or distant from each other and this leads to more complications and vices. I mobilised a group of actors, we fundraised to take essentials home and I was trusted with the responsibility of sitting with Jovan to understand his predicament and standing with him. Fast forward, with all help coming from all who cared for him, Jovan found himself and fought to get back to what he did best. ACTING. We tried to get him acting jobs and he even got back online, he was accessible whenever we wanted him for work. Later, i heard that Jovan had relocated to Canada, I thought that was something great. His online content showed a lot of love and merry. The brother was back on his feet. And THEN..........Now our Jovan is on the streets homeless. I am trying to get in touch with some Ugandan colleagues in Canada to see how they ca help Jovan. I know actor Mushema Housen is already looking for him, film producer Walta Gabriel Busulwa (Ugandan based in Canada) is also working helping and filmmaker Bwayo Moses is also trying his best to find Jovan We wish Jovan all the best and i will be back to update you when i have anything new.show more

[Part 6] Taehyung's military colleague is back with another... story! Story of going to Christmas service with V-hyung: Even though only his eyes were visible, everybody recognised him! 👤As seen on youtube, you know there was the story of going to the church and mordekaiser? it's probably after that, I suggested to V-hyungnim to go to church again together, because it was Christmas time and if you go to church on December 25th, they give out hamburgers and also do a musical performance. It's one of the most fun things to experience in military camp because they also dance like this. This kind of things happen at the Nonsan Army Training Camp. So I was like, "they're saying there is a big musical there, how about going together with me?" and so we ended up going together. V-hyungnim always had everything covered up, wearing a mask and pulling his hat all the way down low whenever he went around. But what's fascinating is, people still recognized him. He was disguised with just the military cap on, and then the mask too, so really only his eyes were visible but people recognized him anyway. It was so amazing to me. I remember thinking, ‘Ah, a celebrity really is a celebrity.’ You could exactly see that with him. So after it ended, we were about to leave but the people there started to wave, "Woah! Taehyungie hyung!". They were like, "Please say hello to us!" He was walking out with his head down, but at the very end he suddenly waved with his back to them. We’ve seen a lot of dogs in bad conditions... but I think this lovely boy might be the worst pain I’ve ever seen a dog in. We’d been told about him by a kind man in the community who found him but had no idea how to help beyond giving him water, food and putting a little electric fan on him. He eventually got through to us in sheer desperation. The dog has been there for days apparently and probably hit by some sort of major trauma. He hasn’t eaten or drank his water and he was laying in his own pee and poop. That little alley way was where it was all going to end very soon because I could see from his gums and other signs he was in big big trouble. We had to just go for it and make a stretcher with what we had and push through the pain. It took us 40 minutes to get back to Tina’s hospital and he screamed at every tiny bump on the road. I thought his spine was broken and was super relieved when it wasn’t. I thought he might be so bad that we’d never be posting this video as it might be better to put him out of his misery. He is very sick and has some stuff going on internally but it is pelvis related we believe. He is by no means 100% going to make it as he has so much going on inside him but we have some hope now. The team are in full action mode to try and save him. I called him Bear as he is a big fluffy gentle giant I can tell. I’m not sure how this story ends but it’s already better than he was alone in that alley this morning. He’s having a huge sleep now with lots of pain relief and meds. 🤞🤞🤞show more

Big Hank is one of those dogs who just... couldn’t fit in. When we first found him he had horrible flesh wounds and was full of maggots eating him. He wouldn’t have survived long. After getting him fixed up the answer from his “owners” was simple… keep him. After a lot of effort and luck I found him unbelievable owners in Bangkok who tried everything but it just didn’t work out with their 6 dogs. Despite their brilliant efforts and patience Hank was just too big and too disruptive. He come back to the sanctuary. I didn’t know what to do at that stage. He’s an older, bigger dog with a bad leg injury now and he doesn’t get on with other males. Chances of adoption were close to zero. Hank himself was also miserable. You could tell he’d just had enough in this world of not fitting in. Thats when I decided to bring Hank home. I’d recently had 4 dogs pass that I cared for with various life ending illnesses so the house was quiet. I only take in the ones who have no real options left. It turned out that myself and Hank needed each other in equal measure. Finally for the first time in his life Hank was home. He’s completely changed as a dog. I can’t explain how much he loves his home. Every single walk he sprints home at top speed the second he sees the house. He can’t get back inside quick enough. It’s just a simple couch, some food and some love but that’s all he ever wanted in his life. Love you big Hank.show more
