Right to Exist After winning the Michigan Democratic Senate primary, Abdul El-Sayed appeared today on Morning Joe and suddenly tried to reassure Jewish voters. He promised: “My commitment to Jewish safety is the same as my commitment to the safety of my own kids… I am looking forward to fighting the fight against anti-semitism… with you.” This comes after he spent the entire campaign: • Calling Israel’s actions a “genocide” and an “illegal apartheid” regime • Demanding the U.S. stop “arming” Israel because its government is doing “the most heinous things” with American weapons • Repeatedly refusing to say Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state, claiming he “struggles” with the question and dismissing it as a “gotcha game” One day he’s campaigning against Israel’s right to exist and labeling it a genocidal apartheid state. The next day he’s pitching himself as a friend of the Jewish people. The pivot is hard to miss.show more

This is not Hiroshima. This is not Gaza. This... is not Lebanon. This is not Iran. This is Ukraine now… bombed with FAB-3000, a 3-ton bomb. Events that should not be publicized, yet must be highlighted. I remember when I sat alongside President Zelensky's representative during a closed-door diplomatic meeting under the mediation of the Turkish president aimed at encouraging Ukraine to resume the “Istanbul peace talks” with Russia. When we reached a critical juncture, the Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister asked a question while I was trying to persuade him to return to negotiations: "What if you were in my shoes—with your land occupied and your people killed every day, while Putin violates international law on a daily basis? Would you continue to fight and support the resistance, turn to negotiations, or surrender?” At that moment, I wanted to give him an answer based on a similar personal experience, not a diplomatic one; for I was thinking of Lebanon, where our people were being killed daily and our land was under occupation. I pointed out that Israel currently occupies and controls 10% of Lebanon (that was the figure at the time; it has since risen to 20%)—the same proportion that Russia occupies and controls of Ukraine. The World condemned Russia, but cannot condemn Israel! Ukraine itself sided with Israel, citing the right to self-defense! The issue was never occupation. It was the identity of the occupier. I mentioned that international law hasn’t failed in Ukraine or in Lebanon or in Gaza and beyond. This’s not the failure of the law. The law stands and its principles remain clear. The failure is our collective will to uphold it. And to put a punishment for those who violate the international law. International law is not optional that you invoke only when it suits you. Double standards in international law—and the weaponization of that law to serve national interests—have led to a situation where international law is no longer respected. War crimes beget war crimes—When the international community failed to bring one state to justice for violating the international law, they knew they can do it again, and another state will inevitably follow suit with impunity. I concluded by stating that I would shift the focus to human security rather than state security; however, negotiating human security requires a ceasefire first. Otherwise, it would be tantamount to surrender, allowing the other to impose its terms and forcing you to concede. International law must be the same for everyone everywhere, and no State above international law. If I criticize your side, you assume I'm on theirs. If I criticize their side, they assume I'm on yours. You are both wrong. My position is guided by principles and upholding the law rather than alignment. I am basically against anything that kills people or destroy the planet we live on. I belong neither to this side nor that; I belong to humanity and Earth.show more

We said goodbye to our beloved Odom last night... as it was his time to go. To say I am devastated would be an understatement because that dog has saved my life more times than I could even begin to fathom. To be with him at the end of his amazing life was an honor I do not take for granted. Most of my days and routines over the last few years were centered around him and ensuring that he received what he needed. Whether it was receiving insulin for his diabetes at the same times every day or planning walks and meals to accommodate what worked best for him, my schedule revolved around what he needed. To some, this might seem like a nuisance. For me, it made me better. I made his routines my routines. Walking him twice a day gave me time to reflect and appreciate all of the good in my life. Planning time for his exercise ensured I did the same for myself. Being immediately anchored by his weight on a walk because he wanted to appreciate something he had noticed taught me to slow down and take in moments in a way I wasn’t used to. His routine was my routine, and it made me better. When I first saw him at the Edmonton Humane Society Society, I wasn’t ready for a dog. My brother Alec was there, and he saw me with Odom, and he knew that I was in love immediately. I didn’t find Odom, but Odom found me. I left, not taking him home and immediately knew it was a mistake, and that he was meant to be in my life. I went to the Edmonton Humane Society the next day, 30 minutes before it opened, to ensure that I would be the first person to go through the doors. I headed straight for where Odom was, and he came home with me that day. With all of the ups and downs I have had in my life since, my love and pride in that dog were a constant. I am terribly sad, and I am taking solace in this quote from Andrew Garfield on grief: “This is all the unexpressed love, the grief that will remain with us until we pass because we never get enough time with each other, no matter if someone lives till 60, 15, or 99.” I love that dog because that dog loved me. We discussed our continued support for Ukraine and the way forward. The EU has stood with Ukraine since the very first day of Russia’s war of aggression, and we will continue to stand by Ukraine’s side. Ukraine can count on us. I commended the work that is being done to fulfil the accession reform criteria, under very challenging circumstances, and encouraged Ukraine to continue on that path. Tooele wow! You stirred up every emotion. We spent the entire day. The parade being our first ever will never be forgotten. The energy, the passion and commitment to family, loyalty, bravery and this great nation was felt in our hearts as we watched endless pride for this nation by young and old. Thank you for saying in action what we feel - thank you for our freedom America. We recognise and honor that it is earned by those who gave their lives so you and I can live this free! And to describe that feeling ‘free’ in words is impossible. My heart and mind is full. My soul confirms that there is only one better feeling than this and that is in the presence of the Almighty Himself. I am still singing. The time has finally come for me to watch... this biggest little film of ours fly out of our hands and into the world. To Chris Sanders, working on this story with you has been a dream come true. I was in the middle of boarding The Egg Hatches scene, when I got the news that my mom had unexpectedly passed away from a complication during surgery. And part of me feels like there is some beautiful symbolism there that right when I lost her, this thing was being born for me to help me deal with her loss. As story artists, we have to live in the scenes that we work on for hours each day. And this film (from peter brown! ‘s beautiful book) gave me a place to live. In scenes and a story that could honor my mom, and all mothers. And that is just a gift that I can never repay any of you for. I still ask myself sometimes, how did I get so lucky that they offered this to me? But I’m so glad they did because I think I needed this project even more than it needed me. On one of my last days in London watching the record of Kris Bowers’ beautiful score, sitting in the converted church that is Air Studios, I could somehow feel my mom speaking to me through the words of the lovely choir: I’m gonna live forever in you, long as the sky and oceans are blue, I’ll always love you and I’ll never stop. I’ll always be there even when I’m not.” And everything came full circle. I miss you Mom. I hope that this film will always stand as a love letter to all moms. As it was the place I put all of my unexpressed love for you. I used to own a company that went bankrupt... a year ago. At the time, it felt like everything was collapsing because of a series of wrong decisions—decisions that, looking back now, turned out to be blessings in disguise. During that time, I was hustling every single day just to cover rent and put food on the table. In the middle of all that chaos, I was learning how to trade. Deep down, I already knew I wanted to trade more than I wanted to save the company… but I still gave everything I had trying to keep it alive. After multiple deposits and plenty of setbacks, I finally became profitable on my last one (January 2025). At one point I was down to 0.28 SOL. I even wrote down: “I will turn 0.28 into 100.” That was my first real goal—about 25K at the time. I’ve never been the type to post PnLs, but I took a lot of inspiration and motivation from others. Might as well share my journey too. (And engagement farm) I genuinely believe everything happens for a reason—and God wouldn’t place a dream in your mind if you weren’t meant to achieve it. I remember that moment like it was yesterday. My... eldest son standing there, completing his training in his IDF unit. In one hand, his rifle, in the other, the Bible. Swearing an oath to protect the State of Israel. As a father in Israel, I’m telling you: it is one of the most moving moments a person can experience. Despite the fear and the constant worry, your heart simply bursts with immense pride. To see the next generation continuing the chain of the Jewish people, standing tall and strong in our homeland.
