A Canadian renewable corporation is trying to build an... 1,800 acre solar complex on one of the last grasslands of its kind in the northeast. Boralex, soon to be Brookfield, will likely be awarded its final permit by ORES (Office of Renewable Energy Siting) next week. We are prepared to sue over it. I recorded this video at the grasslands this past winter. It’s one of the last homes for short-eared owls in New York State. It’s such an important habitat that the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation covered the grassland in “critical endangered species present” signage. The X-ray flux has been mostly above the M-class threshold for *35 hours* now. There have been 25+ M-class and 4 X-class flares. It is unfortunate that most of these flares are impulsive, else we'd have a train of CMEs en route and likely impacting by now.
