Late-Night Thief Cutting Catalytic Converter Flees When Gunshots Ring... Out from Homeowner Tulsa, Oklahoma – November 1, 2025 Home security footage captured a dramatic and chaotic moment when a catalytic converter thief was scared off mid-crime by gunshots fired from the homeowner inside the house. The video shows a hooded suspect lying on his back beneath a pickup truck in the driveway at 2:16 a.m., tools in hand, illuminated only by a porch light and the thief’s small work lamp. The suspect works quickly and confidently, sliding a reciprocating saw against the truck’s exhaust system as sparks flicker across the concrete. The audio picks up the cold buzz of the blade echoing through the quiet neighborhood. He pauses once to adjust his grip, clearly experienced at the job, then resumes cutting with renewed urgency. Just as the catalytic converter begins to loosen, a loud bang erupts from inside the home — followed by a second. The thief freezes. For a split second he’s motionless, one hand gripping the saw, the other bracing against the pavement. Then instinct takes over. He scrambles out from under the truck so fast he nearly hits his head on the axle, leaving tools scattered on the driveway. The camera captures him sprinting into the darkness without even attempting to retrieve the saw or the partially cut converter. Porch lights in nearby homes flick on moments later as startled neighbors step outside to investigate the noise. Police later confirmed the homeowner fired warning shots into the air after hearing the saw and realizing someone was beneath his vehicle. Officers recovered the thief’s tools and requested residents remain vigilant, noting a recent uptick in catalytic converter thefts across the area. The vet had been honest with the Hollands. Baxter... didn't have much time left, and the kindest thing they could do now was make whatever he had left count. So on a warm Saturday in June , instead of a normal quiet day at home, they loaded the old Bernese into the back of the van and drove him two hours to the coast. Baxter had never seen the ocean. He was 13, and his whole life had been the backyard and the same worn spot on the living room rug. The kids wanted him to see something big before he went. He moved slow getting out of the van. His back legs weren't what they used to be, and the boys had to help him down onto the sand. For a second he just stood there at the top of the beach, nose up, taking in all that salt air and open water like he couldn't quite believe it. Then something in him shifted. He started down toward the surf on his own, stiff and determined, the way he used to trot to the door when the kids came home from school. When the first cold wave washed over his paws, his whole face lit up. He didn't run, he couldn't, but he waded in up to his chest and stood in the shallow water with the sun going down behind him, and the whole family just watched. Nobody said much. They didn't need to. They stayed until the light was almost gone, taking pictures, letting Baxter rest against their legs, giving him one perfect afternoon to hold onto. The vet was right about the time. Baxter left them a few weeks later, at home, surrounded by the people who loved him. But he saw the ocean first. And every one of them is glad they gave him that.show more

VIDEO: Residents rescue man gagged by wife, sons over... pension dispute Residents of Oko-Filling, a serene neighborhood in Araromi, Ijoko, Sango Ota, came to the rescue of a man who had been bound, gagged and left for death by his wife and children following a dispute over his retirement benefits. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, March 13, at the family’s residence. The conflict began when the man reportedly refused to hand over the entirety of his retirement payout to his wife and four sons. After receiving the money, he used a portion to open two shops for his wife in Abule after giving her N3 million. He also bought a N12 million car for himself while the family already owned a home in the area. However, his wife and sons, who are all university graduates, expressed dissatisfaction with the distribution of the funds and attempted to pressure him for more. The situation took a darker turn when the man sold the newly purchased vehicle shortly after acquiring it, raising suspicions among neighbors. A local landlord, who spoke to The Nation, revealed that the man was later discovered in his home with his mouth, hands, and feet bound. "He was tied like an animal to be slaughtered. They (his wife and kids) got some Aboki men, about six of them to tie him up. It was the strange noise from their parking that alerted residents who gathered in front of the house to know what was happening. "Landlords in the area who could not endure the noise at that hour, decided to go out and find out what was wrong. When they got to his compound, they saw a Korope (small bus) outside packing properties. "His wife and sons were the ones packing and so, the residents asked after the man. When the response given was not satisfactory, they forced themselves inside the house and saw the man completely bound with the Aboki people still inside the house, as though they were waiting to kill him. "The man was untied and rushed to the hospital. He's still at the hospital receiving treatment. The suspects were all taken to the police station. One of the Aboki men confessed it was the man's wife that contracted them to tie him up. They were all taken to the police station that morning," said the landlord. The crew at Ladder 7 had just finished cleaning... the bay when Ryan sat down outside the truck for a few quiet minutes. It was the kind of slow afternoon firemen don't trust for long, with the doors open, the flag moving above the driveway, and the smell of wet concrete still hanging around from the morning washdown. Two months earlier, Ryan had carried a black Lab mix out of a burning rental house on the north side of town. Nobody knew the dog's name at first. He was coughing, scared, and covered in soot, and Ryan had stayed beside him on the curb until the animal rescue van arrived. He kept one hand on the dog's back the whole time and talked to him like they'd known each other for years. "Stay with me, buddy. You're okay." The dog's name turned out to be Max. He spent weeks recovering with a rescue volunteer named Jenna. At first, Max barely slept unless someone sat near him. Loud doors made him shake. Sirens made him hide. Still, every time a truck drove by, he lifted his head like he was listening for something familiar. Jenna wanted to bring him back to the station once he was strong enough. Not for a show. Not for photos. Just because she thought Max might remember the man who sat with him when everything around him was smoke and noise. Ryan saw them from across the driveway. Max was walking calmly at first, but then his whole body changed. His ears came up, his tail started moving, and he pulled forward so hard that the leash slipped out of Jenna's hand. She gasped, then stopped chasing when she saw where he was going. Max ran straight to Ryan. Ryan barely had time to open his arms before Max jumped into him, whining and pushing his face against his chest. The firefighter laughed once, but it broke almost immediately into something softer. He held the dog with both hands, buried his face against him for a second, and shook his head like he couldn't believe it. "Oh Max," he said. "It's been so long. I missed you so much." Jenna stood back with tears in her eyes while the flag kept moving above them. Max didn't care about the truck, the station, or anyone watching. He had found the man who brought him out. Do you believe dogs know who helped them when they needed it most?show more

This was captured on the Markowski family's backyard security... camera last Thursday afternoon in Akron, Ohio. The man on the ground is Raymond Markowski. He's 67 years old. Retired factory supervisor. Raymond had been doing light yard work near his garden beds on a warm afternoon when he experienced a serious medical emergency and collapsed. He was alone in the backyard. His wife Carol was at a grocery appointment. His phone was inside on the kitchen counter. The dog is a large black and tan German Shepherd named Bruno. Four years old. Raymond had raised Bruno from a twelve-week-old puppy. Bruno had been Raymond's shadow for four years. Followed him through every room of the house. Joined him for every morning walk. Sat at his feet during every evening on the back porch. The backyard security footage shows Raymond moving along the garden bed at 2:14 PM. Then he goes down. Hard and sudden. He doesn't get up. Bruno is on him within seconds. The dog presses his body against Raymond's side. Nudges his face. Paws at his shoulder. Raymond's hand moves once but he cannot get up. Bruno stands fully. Looks at Raymond for one moment. Then he runs to the fence. The footage shows Bruno at the fence line, jumping repeatedly, body fully extended each time. The neighbor, a man named Gerald Park, age 71, was in his own yard at the time. Bruno's behavior at the fence caught his attention immediately. Gerald came to the fence. Looked over. Bruno turned the moment Gerald appeared and ran directly back toward Raymond's collapsed body. Gerald told us: "The dog looked at me once and then ran back. I followed the direction he ran and that's when I saw Raymond on the ground. I had my phone in my shirt pocket. I called emergency services immediately and climbed the fence." Emergency services arrived within six minutes. Raymond was transported to Summa Health Medical Center. He received treatment for the medical emergency and was stabilized. He spent four days in the hospital. He is home now and continuing his recovery.show more

🚨 WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR ABOUT THE ARLINGTON... HOUSE EXPLOSION Timeline of events: ➡️ Around 4:45pm Tuesday, Arlington County, VA police were called out to a report of “possible shots fired.” ➡️ Once officers got to the scene, they became aware that a man inside the home had fired a flare gun out the window 30 to 40 times ➡️ The owner of the home, James Yoo, then barricaded himself inside and refused to make contact with police. ➡️ As a result, they obtained a search warrant, and while attempting to execute it, the suspect fired multiple shots at the officers from inside the home. ➡️ Then, at 8:45pm, an explosion occurred, leveling the entire property. — WHAT CAUSED THE EXPLOSION? The exact cause of the explosion or how it was triggered has not yet been made public. I have however confirmed that this home DID have natural gas hookups and appliances Based on the videos, it seems the explosion originated in the basement, but I cannot confirm this. — WHERE IS THE SUSPECT? No massive manhunt seems to be underway, so he was most likely killed in the explosion. ICYMI🚨: According to witnesses and court documents, a man... who reportedly sleeps in the basement of Brown University's Barus and Holley building told police he spotted the suspect in the basement area earlier on the day of the shooting and followed him outside. As the witness approached the suspect, he observed the man walking toward a gray Nissan vehicle and unlocking it with a key fob. However, upon noticing the witness, the suspect backed away, relocked the car, and walked off. Following the shooting, the witness posted on Reddit: “I’m being dead serious. The police need to look into a grey Nissan with Florida plates, possibly a rental.” The post continued: “I know because he used his key fob to open the car, approached it and then something prompted him to back away. I found that odd so when he circled the block I approached the car that is when I saw the Florida plates.” This Reddit tip led investigators to the vehicle, which ultimately helped identify and track the suspect, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente.show more

Today, near my home, a CCTV camera captured a... moment that truly felt like a miracle. A brother and his sister were out shopping together when the brother suddenly noticed a small child wandering onto the road. At that exact moment, a speeding vehicle was rushing toward the child. Without wasting even a second, the brother sprinted forward. Just as the vehicle was about to reach the child, he scooped the little one into his arms in the blink of an eye. The vehicle sped past, and the child escaped without a single injury. It was one of those rare moments that made everyone believe the child had been protected by God. If the young man had hesitated for even a fraction of a second, the outcome could have been heartbreaking. Sometimes, ordinary people become heroes simply by acting without thinking twice.show more

♰ Handprint of Jesus - V Station of the... Cross ♰ "As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus." Luke 23:26 🎥 The handprint at the Fifth Station of the Cross on the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, Holy Land 🇻🇦 It is a small hollow in a stone wall located inside the Franciscan Chapel of Simon of Cyrene. Tradition holds that this depression was originally formed when Jesus stumbled while carrying the cross and rested his hand on the wall for support, leaving a bloody imprint that was later preserved as a relic. Over the centuries, the stone has been repeatedly touched by pilgrims, causing the surface to wear down and the hollow to deepen into a smooth, collective palm-print.show more

"A little boy on a filthy mattress had already... learned to fear footsteps in the dark. By the time Deputy Mason Cole reached the back room, the child was clutching a dirty stuffed animal so tightly it looked like the toy was the only thing keeping him together. Neighbors had called after hearing a child crying inside a house that was supposed to be empty. The property had been in foreclosure for months, the power was cut, and the windows were boarded over. When Mason forced the door open, the smell hit him first. Trash covered the floor, and somewhere deeper in the house a thin, broken whimper kept rising through the silence. That sound led him down a narrow hallway to a cluttered bedroom in the back. Sitting on a stained mattress surrounded by snack wrappers was a 3 year old boy named Eli, his face streaked with dirt, his hair matted, and his whole body curled around that stuffed animal like it was a shield. One look at him told Mason this wasn't a child who had been left alone for an hour. Fear had sunk too deeply into him, and hunger had already pulled the strength out of his face. Later, the truth came together piece by piece. Eli’s mother was a severe addict who had broken into the empty house to squat, then walked out 3 days earlier to drink and get high and never came back. Mason didn't stay in the doorway and manage the room from a distance. He stepped across the mess on the floor, climbed onto the dirty mattress, and lowered himself beside the trembling boy so he wouldn't feel another adult towering over him. “Hey. Hey. You’re okay.” Eli flinched at first and pulled the stuffed animal tighter against his chest. Tears filled his eyes when he looked up, and the words that came out were barely louder than a whisper. “I was scared.” Mason’s voice dropped even softer. “I know that. You’re safe now.” No answer came right away. Every muscle in the boy’s body stayed tight for another second, like he was waiting to find out whether those words were true. Mason wrapped an arm around him carefully and stayed still. “Believe me,” he said. “I’m not leaving.” Something shifted in that moment. Eli stopped curling away and leaned into the deputy’s chest instead, the fear finally breaking loose in a hard, shaking sob. A partner standing nearby caught the quiet scene for a second before they carried the boy out of the dark house and into the warm patrol car. Mason kept talking to him the whole time. “We’re going to get you warm. Get you something to eat. It’s okay.” A long breath caught in the boy’s throat before he cried again, smaller this time. Mason held him close and gave him the one thing that had been missing from that house for days. “You don’t have to be scared anymore.” By the time they reached the car, Eli wasn't clutching the stuffed animal quite as hard. His head was resting against Mason’s uniform, and for the first time since anyone had found him, he looked like a child who believed help had really come. Today, Eli is in a safe foster home where he has clean clothes, regular meals, and a bed that doesn’t smell like garbage and rot. Mason still checks on him, making sure the little boy who was found crying in the dark knows somebody did come back for him after all.show more

The abandoned shack was supposed to be empty, but... Deputy Caleb Turner heard a chain scrape against metal before he’d reached the back wall. Neighbors had reported movement around the property, and he’d expected to find teenagers, someone hiding from the rain, or maybe an animal looking for shelter. Near the darkest corner, a brown dog sat against a rusty pipe with a faded green collar around his neck and a short chain holding him in place. Dust covered the dog’s coat, while a dirty bowl sat nearby with only a little food left inside. Not once did he bark when Caleb stepped closer. Instead, he lowered his head, pressed himself harder against the wall, and followed every movement as if he’d already learned that people usually brought trouble. Caleb stopped before the chain pulled tight. Rather than reaching straight for the collar, he turned slightly to the side, lowered himself slowly, and held out one open hand. After a long moment, the dog lifted his nose and moved one ear toward the sound of the deputy’s voice. “Easy, buddy. I’m not going to hurt you.” Those words didn’t change everything at once, but the dog’s breathing slowly began to settle. Little by little, he allowed Caleb to move close enough to touch the collar without pulling away. Rust had nearly locked the clasp shut. Whenever the metal shifted, the dog flinched, so Caleb worked carefully and kept his other hand still where the animal could see it. Several attempts passed before the hook finally opened and the loose chain dropped onto the wooden floor. Freedom didn’t make the dog run. For a few seconds, he remained beside the wall and stared at the empty space in front of him, almost as if he didn’t understand that nothing was holding him anymore. Without pulling, Caleb moved both hands back and waited. One careful step brought the dog away from the corner. Another placed him close enough to smell the officer’s uniform, and then he pressed his head and shoulder against Caleb’s leg. By the time Caleb rested one hand on his back, the dog was leaning into him with all the trust he had left. Outside, another deputy called that the property was clear. Looking toward the open doorway, Caleb stayed still while the dog remained pressed against his leg. Whatever he said into the radio next would decide where the dog spent that night.show more
