They just launched SL2T (Sign Language to Text), an AI model that translates sign language directly into text. Most spoken language dictation tools rely on audio to text, but sign languages have their own grammars and involve complex 3D movements. Instead of using raw camera feeds or physical gloves, SL2T tracks body landmark coordinates locally with MediaPipe Holistic and translates those spatial points into text. It’s powering sign to text dictation on Pixel 11 in Gboard and Live Transcribe, starting with ASL. This time I used a more detailed video prompt, but I wasn't describing the sequence shot-by-shot. The storyboard acted more as a visual guide for the action flow, camera language and overall narrative than as a strict frame-by-frame blueprint. World modeling and imitation learning have largely been considered... two disparate worlds. In our recent work, Unified World Models, just accepted to #RSS2025, Chuning Zhu provides a dead-simple unifying solution: just train a joint diffusion model over actions and future states, but with *decoupled* diffusion time steps across these modalities. Manipulating these decoupled time steps then allows for marginalization or conditioning on actions or states; a single model can serve as a policy, forward dynamics model, video prediction model, or inverse dynamics model by simply setting diffusion timesteps carefully. The resulting model can leverage video datasets along with robot training data much more effectively, and shows improved robustness, generalization, and flexibility. It’s not the old accents we knew it’s this flat, mashed-up way of speaking that sounds half “chav” and half something else. It’s like they’ve never heard proper English spoken at home or in school. I’m convinced a big part of it is the migrant influence that’s flooded our culture over the years. We’ve brought in huge numbers of low-skilled people who didn’t grow up with our language, and instead of proper assimilation we just let it all mix. Now the clear, straightforward English that used to get passed down through families and proper schooling is getting diluted. Kids pick up whatever’s around them on the street and online, and it shows and it’s definitely coming from gang culture and rap music. This isn’t harmless evolution. It’s what happens when you change the makeup of a country fast without caring if the basics like speaking our own language properly. Our youngsters aren’t thick, they’re just soaking up what’s put in front of them. And we’re the ones who let it happen, this Chav Language disease is even infecting middle England now.
