This is real gun camera footage from a P-51... Mustang, chasing a German Bf 109 down to the treetops until it goes down in flames. The American pilot flying it, Lt John Kirla, shot down five enemy planes in a single day, becoming an ace in one mission. This footage captures one of his victories over a Bf 109. This is his story.. From Trainee to the Yoxford Boys John Kirla was not a born fighter ace. He was an ordinary young American who had come up through flight training in Texas, graduating at the start of 1944. He learned his trade on trainers, moved up to fighters, and got just 15 hours in the P-51 Mustang before being sent to England as a replacement pilot. He joined the 362nd Fighter Squadron of the 357th Fighter Group, a unit based at Leiston that was already becoming a legend. The 357th was the first group in the Eighth Air Force fully equipped with the Mustang, and it would go on to produce more aces than any other fighter group in the Eighth, including Chuck Yeager and Bud Anderson. Kirla was the newest pilot in a squadron already filled with experienced aces. His job was to escort American bombers deep into Germany and protect them from the Luftwaffe. On November 27 1944, he got the day that would define him. Five Victories in One Mission That morning the 357th ran headlong into a massive swarm of German fighters trying to get at the bombers. Kirla's flight dropped their fuel tanks and dived straight into the middle of it. Almost immediately, the fight became a swirling, low-level brawl of Mustangs, Messerschmitts, and Focke-Wulfs twisting across the sky. Kirla picked out his first target and opened fire, and from that moment he did not stop hunting. In his own account, he spotted a Bf 109 that was attacking an American bomber. He went after it, closed to just 30 yards, and when the German threw his fighter into a tight barrel roll straight down toward the ground, Kirla stayed glued to his tail and, in his words, clobbered him all over until he went down. An Ace in a Day He kept finding more. Again and again through that wild, sprawling fight, Kirla latched onto an enemy aircraft and did not let go. At one point he watched a German fighter shoot down one of his fellow Mustang pilots right in front of him, and closed in for revenge. As he described it afterward, he opened fire, saw pieces start to fly off the enemy aircraft, and watched it fall out of the sky like a leaf drifting to the ground. Rather than breaking away and climbing back to safety, Kirla chased his targets down low, following them almost to the ground, the fighters weaving over villages and treetops until the enemy aircraft finally went down. By the time the fight was over, John Kirla had shot down five German aircraft in a single mission. He had become an ace in a day, one of the relatively few American fighter pilots to achieve that in a single mission. The Mustang That Changed the Air War The Mustang was the aircraft that made days like Kirla's possible. The P-51 combined long range, high speed, and deadly firepower, and it could follow the bombers all the way to their targets and fight the German fighters on equal or better terms. By the end of the war, P-51 groups had claimed close to 5,000 enemy aircraft shot down, about half of all American air-to-air kills in the European theater. Kirla's own group, the 357th, became the top-scoring Mustang group in the Eighth Air Force. Flying one of the finest escort fighters of the war, men like Kirla helped turn the tide of the air war over Germany. The gun-camera film rolling every time he pressed the trigger captured it all, including the footage you are watching. John Kirla's Legacy John Kirla flew on to the end of his combat tour and finished the war as a double ace, credited with 11 and a half enemy aircraft destroyed in the air. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his courage in the skies over Europe. He had gone from a trainee with a handful of hours in a Mustang to one of the deadliest fighter pilots in one of the deadliest fighter groups of the war, in the span of a single year. The footage of his Mustang chasing a Bf 109 down to the trees is only a few seconds long. But behind those few seconds is a young American who climbed into a fighter, dove into a swarm of the enemy, and shot down five of them before the day was out. This was the story of John Kirla. I post a story like this every single day. Most people never see them. Follow so you don't miss the next one.show more

This is facts and I'd even give two clear... examples a lot of Arsenal fans may remember. Last season when we played Brentford at home, Saka was on an attack for us and he did not have a clear chance to shoot the ball, Gyokeres was down in the middle and squaring that pass would have resulted in an easier goal for us but Ska chose to shoot, luckily the ball went in but Kelleher had a bad punch on the ball which is why the ball even went in. Chelsea vs Arsenal Carabao cup semi final, Saka was on an attack again, he could have played the cross first time in for Gyokeres but he decided to cut back before now passing to Ben White who eventually squared it to Gyokeres, luckily for Gyokeres, Robert Sanchez let the ball slip underneath him which resulted in Gyokeres tapping the ball in. If you see Gyokeres's reaction in the buildup to the goal, he got frustrated Saka did not release the ball to him on time. There are many more occassions similar to this from Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard and co where they could have released Gyokeres quickly but chose not to. So yeah, this tweet I quoted is absolutely spot on.show more

This book was just an ordinary book with pictures... and text. But I wanted to bring it to life—to digitize it so that readers wouldn’t see it as just another book, but as an experience that takes our parents and #Chiranjeevi fans on a nostalgic journey through his movies. It all started with Nwin Kumar Anna. In my space, he spoke about life and the lessons of Megastar Chiranjeevi Garu, which deeply inspired me. Then, I saw a post from the Janasena Party where Pawan Kalyan Garu was holding *Megastar: The Legend* book. Pawan Kalyan Garu rarely holds books unless they are truly worth it. That made me curious. I searched for the book online but couldn’t find it. Luckily, I managed to get the author’s details, contacted him, and finally got my hands on the book. When I saw the book, I felt it was too simple. I thought, Why is this just an ordinary book? Why not bring it to life using my skills? And that’s how this journey began. To make it happen, I watched all 151+ movies of Chiranjeevi Garu. The most challenging part was finding the exact scenes from the movies that matched the pictures printed in the book. Days and nights passed as I worked on this, but in the end, it was finally completed. I first shared the concept with Adithya 🚩🚩🚩 Anna, and he absolutely loved it. The encouragement he gave me was invaluable. Huge thanks to Akhil for guiding me on how to manage both the tourism thread and this book my office work , and to @KalyanCult_1992 for helping me with some movies. I had initially decided that I would only show this book to Nwin Kumar Anna after it was completed, and finally, I did. ❤️ it's a small gift from my side to all Megastar fans like you. Thank you, Nwin Kumar Anna. At last, I showed it to గుడుంబా శంకర్ 🇮🇳 Anna. I don’t know if my work will ever reach Chiranjeevi Garu, but I felt really happy. When I showed it to గుడుంబా శంకర్ 🇮🇳 Anna, the hug he gave me truly felt like a hug 🫂 from Chiranjeevi Garu himself. That meant so much to me, Anna. ❤️🙏 And finally, a heartfelt thank you to Chandra Sekhar Garu Akshit Singh 🇮🇳 bhai MegaPower 🇮🇳 Anna for all the support you’ve given me—words fall short. 🙏❤️ This how I showcase my love towards Chiranjeevi Konidela annaya ❤️❤️ #Chiranjeevi #jaichiranjeeva #PawanKalyanshow more

Claude Monet painted the same stretch of cliff more... than ninety times. The place is Étretat, a small fishing village on the coast of Normandy, where the chalk cliffs fall into the sea in great arches and a single spire of rock, the Aiguille, stands alone in the water. Monet had known the place since childhood. He grew up in Normandy, and these cliffs were among the first landscapes he ever saw... He returned to paint them again and again. He worked through the 1880s in front of the same rock formations, and across that time he produced more than ninety canvases of them: the cliffs at dawn, at sunset, under storm, under calm, in winter light and in the gold of a clear evening. In his letters to Alice, the woman he would later marry, he described the agony of it: the weather turning, the tide rising, the sun moving, the colour he had begun to capture vanishing before he could finish. He often worked on several canvases at once, switching between them as the conditions changed, racing each one against the hour. In a letter to his friend Frédéric Bazille he wrote: "It is beautiful here in Etretat. Every day I discover even more beautiful things. It is intoxicating me, and I want to paint it all, my head is bursting. I want to fight, scratch it off, start again, because I start to see and understand. It seems to me as if I can see nature and I can catch it all." The cliffs of Étretat had stood for millions of years and would look, to most people, the same on any given day. Monet saw that they were never the same even for two minutes. He stood on that shore and tried to hold, on canvas, something that exists only for an instant and then is gone forever. And that's exactly what those paintings really are: 90 attempts to keep a single, vanishing moment of light from disappearing. As Dylan Thomas once wrote: "Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light." -- -- -- If you want a deeper dive into the craft of painting, I recently wrote a piece exploring it in detail. You can read it here: And if you'd like to support my work, a paid subscription is what makes it possible:show more

Did you know that in 1947, GE (General Electric)... scientists were involved in a secret government program called Project Cirrus that seeded hurricanes to steer them? After seeding, the hurricane took an immediate sharp turn towards the southeast US. They did this 80 years ago... Did you also know there was another program called Project Stormfury from 1962-1983 that seeded hurricanes to a substantially higher degree to "learn whether the force of the storms can be diminished"? It's completely rational to think that they also learned more about how they can impact their trajectory towards landmass and increase it's destructive power. What if the government is just creating a human trauma farm and disaster economy so they can continue to make you more and more reliant on them and profit from it at the time? If still you're struggling to comprehend that kind of malice from these orgs, you must have been dead asleep for the past 4 years. To quote Richard Spinrad from a 2009 memo to HSARPA, who was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) assistant administrator for the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR). "While OAR recognizes that weather modification, in general, is occurring through the funding of private enterprises, NOAA does not support research that entails efforts to modify hurricanes" Read this part very slowly - "is occurring through the funding of private enterprises" Geoengineering and weather modification is reality and you have to be blind or dishonest not to believe it at this point. The government can create, diminish, and steer hurricanes, and they've had the capacity to do so for decades. So yet again, you must now ask yourself... Would they do such a thing and willfully cause destruction and harm to their own citizens for a nefarious or profit motivated purpose? The answer is a resounding and undeniable YES, they would.show more

This wallet did not exist yesterday. At 3 AM,... I could not sleep. I was scrolling through the leaderboard and stumbled upon an anomaly that made me rub my eyes. It started with $213. That is the price of dinner for two. One day later, it had $54,871 on its balance. In just 36 hours, it earned enough to buy a car. I clicked on the transaction history, expecting to see a lucky all-in on some piece of news. Instead, I saw a machine gun burst. > 869 positions in a day and a half. > One trade every 2.5 minutes. > No breaks for sleep, food, or the bathroom. At 4:30 AM, while you were deep in your tenth dream, this address closed a $1,899 profit. That was when I realized I was not looking at a human. I was looking at a predator. This bot hunts on 15-minute BTC and ETH markets. Where most people see a casino and flip a coin on up or down, it sees flaws in your thinking. Here is how it works: > When Bitcoin drops 0.5%, the crowd panics. > The price of NO skyrockets to 75 cents. You sell out of fear. > But the bot knows the math. After such a drop, the actual probability of the trend continuing is only around 52%, not 75%. It buys your fear for 25 cents, when it is actually worth 45. It does not need to know the future. It just needs to buy dollars for 50 cents. But you know what scared me the most? There is a single trade in its history with a $3,213 loss. A normal person would freeze. Light a cigarette. Start doubting. This wallet opened its next position 54 seconds later. It has no ego. No tilt. No I need to win it back. Only an algorithm: if the probability is 55%, and the market pays as if it is 40%, press the button. This is the new form of mining. In 2017, you bought GPUs. In 2026, you write code that mines liquidity from other people’s emotions. Before you rush to search for scripts on GitHub, stop. The $213 starting point is an illusion. Behind it are servers next to the exchange, 50-millisecond latency, and a team of engineers. You will not beat them manually. You are not a player at this table. You are the food. While you were reading this post, it made another $50. Just watch.show more

This is why I felt so out of it.... 10 years today. I take solace in the fact that my mother loved us well and did her best for us. She was a fighter, protector and provider. She endured harassment by the SAP in the Apartheid era to keep us safe. She was the keeper of secrets, my secrets in particular. She loved all of us equally and never spoke a bad word about one of my siblings to me. She endured the loss of a child with dignity and later in life would be the matriarch of the family. Keeping us together when it seems we were drifting apart. Whoever came to visit, never left empty handed. I remember Geraldine and Jasper , adopted kids that she fed and nurtured through their formative years. She was there at my lowest points in life and never failed to support me.. She could cook up a storm in the kitchen and sew dresses for us and if Matthew Duiker would allow it she would make him an underpants. The death of my brother almost destroyed her, but again she rose from the ashes to keep the home fires burning during the most terrible times her life. She loved all her grand kids equally and often talked of Cheyenne and Edwynne and just wished she could see them. Go in peace my sweet mother. Till we meet again. Hamba Kahle. lala uxolo. Since most of this year’s hashtags come from Sunghoon’s... iconic memes, here’s an explanation of each one: 1. 내가 오늘생일인 박성훈이다 “I am Park Sunghoon” meme: A winter meme in Korea. When roads get icy, people joke, “I’m not Park Sunghoon,” meaning it’s hard to walk on ice because they don’t have Sunghoon’s skating skills. It goes viral every winter 2. 진짜잘노는 성훈생일이래 Sunghoon’s famous “He really knows how to have fun” meme: This started from a story where someone did Sunghoon’s TikTok dance at a club, and a guy next to her said, “Wow, you really know how to have fun” It became a huge trend in Korea 3. 훈선대원군 성훈생일상 대령하라 Hoonseondaewongun: A nickname based on Heungseon Daewongun (a historical figure known for isolationist policies). Fans gave Sunghoon this name because during Weverse Lives he usually reads Korean comments more than English ones, so even international fans end up typing in Korean when he’s live 4. 누구생일인가봐 웅성웅성훈 (“All the chatter… guess it’s Sunghoon’s birthday!”): This was another tweet that went viral in Korea. Tesla robotaxi will be banned in New Jersey. Vision-only... may work 99.9% of the time. But Robotaxis don't just need to handle 99.9% of scenarios—they need to handle at least 99.9999% of them. That's a 1,000x reduction in failure rate. Imagine a fleet of 1 million Robotaxis making just 40 trips per day each. That's 40 million trips every day. Even a 0.1% (1 in 1,000) long-tail failure scenario would occur 40,000 times per day across the fleet. Can you imagine Elon Musk 's face if Tesla Robotaxis ended up causing 40,000 failures/indidents every day? And the reality is, we still don't know whether Tesla's Robotaxi system can achieve 99.9% safety, let alone the level required for mass-scale autonomous deployment. This is exactly why you don't see unsupervised Tesla robotaxis everywhere today. Scaling too quickly would inevitably expose far more edge cases—and potentially far more accidents. That's also why redundancy matters. Adding LiDAR isn't about replacing cameras—it's about covering their blind spots. Ouster Rev8 LiDAR takes this even further: it delivers true colorized 3D perception, 48 bit color depth, 116dB dynamic range, and operates across lighting conditions from near darkness (1 lux) to direct sunlight(2 million lux). It complements vision rather than competing with it, providing another independent layer of perception when cameras are challenged. At Robotaxi scale, sensor redundancy isn't overengineering—it's engineering. $OUSTshow more

The hypocrisy here is unbelievable.. lol Hunter: “Don Jr... got the single largest loan guarantee from the department of defense ever handed out.. $600M for an energy company for which he has zero.. zero experience in.” And again…. Candace Owens did not grill him about Burisma… like at all. 🔻 And for those wondering… these are the Key Differences between what Donald Trump Jr. did vs. Hunter Biden /Burisma: • Hunter Biden was personally paid ~$1M/year on Burisma’s board. —— Don Jr. is a VC partner with an equity stake in Vulcan via his firm—no personal board seat or salary. • Hunter/Burisma was a corrupt Ukrainian firm while Joe Biden ran Ukraine policy. —— Don Jr/Vulcan is a U.S. defense startup getting a $620M DoD loan to counter China on critical magnets (bipartisan goal). • Hunter Biden had documented access-leveraging (emails, calls) tied to policy actions. —— There is No evidence Don Jr. ever lobbied for the loan. • Hunter Biden’s relationship sustained personal foreign enrichment with clear red flags. —— Don Jr.’s case is standard VC timing on a national priority with indirect exposure.show more

Yesterday I was moving into a new apartment, and... I had some help from a couple of guys who do moving work. I first noticed something when I went to pick them up at Home Depot. While talking to the older man, he received a call and answered, “Yes, commander, I’ll call you back.” I ignored it at first. Fast forward to when we got home and started loading and moving stuff. Another call came in from the same “commander,” this time on speaker. The moment I heard the voice, I knew something was wrong, and the man didn’t realize it. On the phone, they were asking him for $2,000, saying the girl he was supposed to marry next week was sick and needed money for treatment, even though she’s supposedly a military nurse according to her profile. I signaled him and muted the call. I told him to ask for the commander’s name, and he did. The guy said his name was “Marthin” and then “Martinez” 😂. I took the phone and said something, and the scammer immediately hung up when he heard my accent. A few minutes later, he called again, asking why the man had handed the phone to someone else and claiming it was against their “security rules.” I took the phone again and cursed him out. I told the man to block them, which he did. Then he showed me many more messages he’d been receiving. The man was already far gone into the scam. I’m glad I was able to stop him from being scammed. These people really work hard for their money, really hard. I told him it’s better to get a new phone line.show more

Just got sick when I realized that there was... a massive fire set early this morning (Jan 7th) in DTLA at Hope & Pico which occurred at approximately the SAME TIME as the Palisades fire. Strangely, this is directly adjacent to where another huge fire occurred the day after Christmas (1.5 weeks prior) at the famous Morrison Hotel. I imagine most people were too busy celebrating Christmas to even hear about it. Attached here is an exclusive video of the DTLA Morrison Hotel fire, an exclusive photo showing the damage from both fires (Hope/Pico damage circled in red) and news articles about both. Hard Questions: Did the same entity start BOTH fires to divert resources so they couldn’t effectively combat the Palisades Fire before it became catastrophic? CBS said over a hundred firefighters were busy battling the DTLA fire this morning. Was the fire on the same DTLA block 1.5 weeks ago the “test” fire for the one set this morning? Oh and apparently someone has been trying to develop that entire Hope block where the fires occurred for years but that would be extremely difficult to get approved due to the historic buildings. It’s giving Maui Fire land grab vibes imo. Coincidence? Or Occam’s Razor? FSD 14.3.5 Down Under initial review Let me start... right at the top by saying that in my 2.5 hour drive, I had 2 instances of a critical issue which I'm sad to say, in my opinion is a blocker to any wide roll-out of this build. The issue is shown in the clip below, which I'm calling the "Wiggle of Death". Half way through the roundabout you can see the steering wheel start wiggling from left to right as the car heads straight for the curb. Had I not intervened, it could have resulted in an impact. The other instance was the same behaviour, only towards a curb while turning right in a car park. Sorry guys, but it is what it is. It's what early access testing is for. On a more positive note, several major issues have been addressed in this build: FIXED: 🎉110km/h zones - they work perfectly now! Locked in at 115 in hurry, 112 in standard and 109 in chill. We don't talk about sloth on this account 😆 🎉 Follow distance / tailgating is resolved. Hurry now feels super comfortable and standard sits just a little further back again. 🎉 Lane changes were not a problem the entire drive. Every single one felt natural. I never really had many issues on 14.3.3 though tbh INCONCLUSIVE Speed sign recognition - I didn't have any instances today of it misreading a speed sign, however I didn't pass any 90 signs this time which have been most problematic on 14.3.3 - need more testing to confirm either way Exits on freeways - Didn't have any instances of it trying to take incorrect exits on freeways, though this had only happened a couple of times to me on 14.3.3 so need more data to confirm either way UNRESOLVED School zones - same issue occurred near my house where the car goes 40 regardless whether school zone is active or not and did not read the END SCHOOL ZONE sign to signal it to return to the speed limit. Didn't test during school zone hours though. Brake jabbing / hard braking due to indecisiveness at roundabouts - still had several occurrences of this tonight. Not particularly unsafe, but still uncomfortable. REGRESSION Noticed a couple of random slowdowns on the highway for no apparent reason. Nothing major, just strange. CONSLUSION A real shame about the Wiggle of Death, because other than that it's a really solid build and has fixed the major usability issues from 14.3.3. I'm hoping for a quick fix from the Tesla AI team. I logged lots of snapshots and some disengagements for them to review.show more

1B Anthony Martinez (UCI Baseball) is an intriguing college... bat to keep an eye on this season. Was one of the best Freshmen in the country in '23 and posted a gaudy .394/.471/.619 slash line with 19 2B, 11 HR and 60 RBIs. Enjoyed another productive season last year and hit .316/.422/.492 with 18 2B, 9 HR, 74 RBIs and more BB (36) than Ks (29). This summer he did what very few players do nowadays, which is start on the Cape, leave for Team USA and finish out the summer on the Cape. At 6'3" and 230-lbs Martinez is plenty physical with present natural strength. Stands upright in the box with a slightly open front side and a medium-high handset. Relaxed setup. Martinez has a rhythmic load that includes a small barrel tip. Minimal drifting of his hands and is a small-strider. It's a compact operation in which he consistently takes a direct path to contact. Real hitterish look. Martinez has a bit of an interesting profile for his position in that he's a hit-over-power guy. He has a highly advanced feel for the barrel and double-plus contact skills. Martinez in '24 worked an 86% overall contact rate and an eye-popping 96% overall IZ contact rate. All-fields approach and sprays line drives from foul pole to foul pole. Advanced pitch recognition skills and swing decisions, will sometimes expand the zone against secondaries down. However, it's far from a hindrance. Not afraid to get aggressive early in counts. Comfortably 55 hit for me. While it's hit-over-power, Martinez isn't without some thump. He can drive the baseball into either gap, though the vast majority of his HR power is to the pull side. Posted a Max EV last spring of 104.3. More XBH power than HR power. Would give it a 50. Martinez is without a doubt a 1B/DH type professionally, so you're buying the bat. Finished product physically, but I believe in the hit tool. 4th-6th round type for me this July.show more

【🌷 3D REVEAL~! 🌷】 It was a dream (of... spring hehe) come true to join some of my most precious friends to celebrate Nimi's 1-year #nimiversary at her 3D concert and to sing and dance together~! 🎶 This is actually both my new 3D model and was my first time doing mocap. 💖 It means a lot to me, and I'm so happy it got to be with friends!!! I love love love how Ayn @ VGEN was able to bring my wonderful mama さえきやひろ💀's art to life so skillfully and beautifully. 🎨 This is the reveal of my proper main hairstyle too~! I'm able to express myself so well with it, from every soft and silly expression, so the way the flowy dress moves like petals in the wind, to the bounce and flutter of my wings! 🎀 And this model actually was made possible BECAUSE of Nimi 💚 I didn't have a 3D model at all at the time, but I'm happy that she wanted me to be able to stand by her side and dance together and hug her ;////; I will treasure this model always. It's another important addition to the fairytale we've been writing together! I'll keep putting all of my heart into blooming more and more as an idol, and making happy memories with you all like we did today!show more
