Some insider info regarding Deadlock PvE. The PvE mode... features 4 game variants and 7 different stages* (*?). Heroes have a progression system and personal Artifacts (currently one of the testing options). You kill monsters and get a chest containing an item. In one of the variants, chests drop from bosses. In another, they are rewarded for completing challange (potentially along the lines of: "kill 100 monsters using the 1st skill, get upgrades beneficial for the 1st skill"). Items can stack and be upgraded (similarly to Streetbrawl, but like you'll get 4 items, but each duplicate will affect the damage percentage, radius, etc.) The number of items and possible upgrades is limited. There are also legendary items from Streetbrawl, as well as a new type of item (artifacts) that have a separate inventory slot. Bosses can disable your stamina and items, and affect both you and the monsters in general. The final objectives differ for each mode, but exact descriptions are not available yet. --- In reality, this is the exact same thing that happened with StreetBrawl 6 - Valve threw in a wide variety of ideas and is currently testing them. (For those who don't remember, there were initially many different rumors about how StreetBrawl worked, but the final 4v4 system, random items, and round-based combat remained). Information from an anonymous source who previously discussed the mod-split in the Ranked update and the item changes in the Minor Update (prior to the Ranked update)show more

BREAKING: "Short Term Pain for Long Term Gain" is... the new GOP talking point as markets plunge: Whenever you hear a Republican say "Short Term Pain for Long Term Gain" what they really mean is. "Oh Sh-t, Trump F-cked up and I can't explain this away." Now Republicans are suddenly fans of “short-term pain for long-term gain” after spending the last few years screaming about gas prices and inflation under Biden. The irony? Biden already delivered the long-term gain: inflation down, wages up, and a resilient economy that avoided the recession they swore was coming.show more

I’ve been thinking a lot about stamina systems in... my game. A lot of players hate stamina because it limits how much they can act. At the same time, some players like it because it prevents mindless dodge and attack spam. After thinking about this for a long time, I came up with an idea. What if stamina wasn’t a resource at all? Instead, attacks and dodges build fatigue. Higher fatigue means you take more damage (and maybe deal less). You can always act. You’re never locked out of attacking or dodging because a fatigue bar is full. If you like aggressive play and feel confident managing that risk, you’re free to go all in. If you prefer a safer approach, you can manage fatigue and fight more steadily. At the end of the day, you have more freedom to decide how you want to play. This is a pretty big change, and I’d really love to hear your thoughts. Player feedback matters a lot to me!show more

Gambling is a dangerous silent killer. That thing will... wreck your life while you keep a fake smile on your face and your friends & family not noticing a thing. With drugs, changes are damn near instant and aggressive. They affect everyone in proximity to a point that we either get intervention or the addict is ostracized from their community. Gambling thrives on many of our communities treating money like this boogeyman we never talk about. It feeds on people’s terrible relationship with money and a false pride they have in wanting to do things by themselves. The dopamine hits, the hope, the isolation and worshiping of money. It’s even worse now that it’s not just in casinos but its clicks away on our cell phones.show more

Building The On-Chain Cooperative 🟡 Welcome to the dawn... of a new era in the crypto space, where the buzzword "community" is not just a hollow echo but a vibrant force that propels us towards a brighter future. Let's delve into the heart of MODE, the Onchain Cooperative that seeks to redefine the landscape of web3. What does MODE stand for? MODE stands for building an on-chain cooperative focused on sustainable growth and collective prosperity. At its core, MODE is guided by the principles of cooperation, shared incentives, and community-driven development. The goal is to shift from the "fat protocol" mentality where most value accrues to the blockchain/protocol itself, towards an ecosystem where builders, users, and applications can thrive together. What’s MODE's vision and mission in the web3 space? MODE's vision is to return to web3's founding promise - a future that is better for all, not just the individual. A world with aligned incentives that drive growth for everyone involved. A place with opportunities for all, not just the few. The mission is to pioneer the on-chain cooperative - where contributors are rewarded fairly based on the value they provide. Features like Sequencer Fee Sharing distribute a portion of fees to smart contract developers, incentivizing participation. The aim is to encourage collaboration instead of confrontation. Together, the MODE community can deliver new models for cooperation and shared prosperity in web3. Mode Network will solve many problems today in Web3: • Lack of incentives for developers: Developers creating decentralized apps (dApps) currently have few direct economic incentives to create and maintain their projects. Mode provides them with a steady source of income through fee-sharing. • Lack of collaboration: There are few incentives for blockchain projects to compete less and collaborate more for the benefit of the entire ecosystem. Mode's model encourages collaboration by aligning participants economically. • Excessive value accrual at the protocol layer: Mode aims for a more balanced model where the protocol's success is fueled by the success of application developers/builders and the wider community. Growth is a two-way street – "as we grow, you grow". The MODE Pledge 💛 The promise of crypto and blockchain is a brighter future. One that is better for all not just the individual. Where nothing is more important than community. We've strayed from this path. Entering a world of player vs player. Where value is extracted rather than shared. The game is zero sum rather than positive sum. And incentives are aligned with domination, rather than cooperation. Mode is the dawn of a new age. and a return to the promise of what can be. A world with aligned incentives that drive growth for builders, users and projects. A place with opportunities for all, rather than the few. Where we say goodbye to the 'fat protocol', and hello to the onchain cooperative. Join us on our mission to grow together. If this vision for a community-powered web3 ecosystem resonates - where creators are rewarded for their contributions - you can join the MODE on-chain cooperative! Visit Join the discord community Follow Mode 🟡 Together, we can transform web3 into a positive-sum game that unlocks new possibilities for all. Where your growth fuels the growth of others. Let's build the on-chain cooperative!show more

This video was posted by Russian propagandists today. A... Russian drone is adjusting a fire with four guided thermobaric bombs on the position of one of our brigades near the village of Lyptsi, a key village on the approaches to Kharkiv. The small landing is literally demolished by powerful explosions, and the hits are very accurate. After this strike, with the help of a drone adjustment, a Russian assault group went to assault the landing site. They were supported from above by a drone that dropped grenades. And even in such difficult conditions and after such strikes, a group of Ukrainian soldiers survived. And they, all shell-shocked, did not run away or surrender. A few Ukrainians dug themselves out of the trenches completely covered with earth, got up, and suddenly met the Russian assault group with aimed fire. Ukrainian heroes withstand a high density of enemy strikes, they fight to the death for every meter of land near Kharkiv and do everything possible and impossible. They know that they will not be covered from the air, they know they will have to equip their positions on the front line themselves with shovels, they know that the enemy has a lot of force. But they are Ukrainians, and behind them is Kharkiv, and next to them are their brothers-in-arms, who are fighting and also repelling all Russian attacks. We need to destroy Russian aircraft on Russian territory. We need to save our Warrior Heroes.show more
