I’m halfway through all the HC interviews from American... Conference media days. Here are my quick notes: - Memphis HC Charles Huff makes national headlines every time he takes the podium - UTSA HC Jeff Traylor seems more calm overhaul. I think his comments about OC Rick Bowie are cool because he’s “getting back” to running the kind of offense that suits his philosophy. - USF HC Brian Hartline has an intensity about him that will be good for a successful team. If they’re not successful though, his shtick could go in the other direction. - Rice HC Scott Abell being so committed to his formula is just cool to see. If they’re get Jacurri Brown rolling, they could be a legit threat and just an annoying team to play. - ECU HC Blake Harrell was cool to hear his perspective on the new coordinators and how he’s excited to shake things up. They have a lot of position battles to sort through in camp. - Tulsa HC Tre Lamb impressed/surprised me the most. Really good energy, coming into his own as a HC and has a sneaky confidence his team will make legit noise this year.show more

The confusion about whether former Eagles OC, Kevin Patullo,... was fired or not isn't that confusing. They never used the word fired. In short, they care about him, value what he has done for the organization, and are allowing him to weigh his options and decide if he wants to come back in a different role. Philadelphia, & their entire front office, are a class org. They value people, respect them, and treat them right. They also know what he has meant to their 2 Super Bowls runs, despite not working out at OC. The players who praised him all season and after the wild-card loss do so with sincerity. It is not lip service or professionalism. They genuinely respect him. Almost every player was asked about him after their loss, nobody wavered in their praise for him. This is the type of play I worry about... with the Hawks picking up Ben King. At this stage of his career, he should kill a young defender in this position. This should be a simple case of holding position and taking the mark. But where is the body use? Where is the physicality? He has Harry Dean (and credit to Harry for making the spoil) in all sorts of trouble here, but allows him to get to the fall of the ball in a spot King should have owned. Nice changes to a massive inside takeaway with of... of my guys James You'll see in the "before" video, James would shoot his hands OUT & away from his body, forcing the club excessively inside & behind him. The momentum of this movement would cause the club to get too far across the line & create an excessive over the top movement, late shallowing & he'd get the club stuck behind & hit block cuts Now, the takeaway is less inside & the momentum of the club now allows him to set the club more down the line at the top, reducing the chances of the club getting stuck behind him I don't mind the little over the top hand path & steeper shaft in transition (relative to P3 - lead arm parallel in the downswing) Still work to do & to perform at speed, but we are getting better!
