Ghanaian passengers were reportedly delayed by Qatar Airways at... Kotoka International Airport for a flight to Doha scheduled to depart at 5:15 pm. Passengers did not board as scheduled but eventually boarded about two hours later. After boarding, they experienced further delays due to a tire burst. It appeared that the flight might be canceled, but no communication was provided to the passengers. After being left without information for about four hours, they disembarked from the plane and their boarding passes were collected with the promise of accommodation being arranged for them. As at midnight, they were still stranded at the airport with nowhere to rest and Qatar Airways were not being forthcoming with updates. However, after fighting them, they finally got their accommodation issues sorted out around 12:30am.show more

Fun fact. Stoopee (the black one) wandered into our... house a week after our dog Watson passed. A month after we adopted him, he made sure to bring his friend from the street Lucy (the white one) by. We knew it would have to be both of them adopted together. Now during the day, whenever they sleep they like to be in each others eye line. At night, she sleeps in the bedroom and he makes sure to sleep in a bed right outside the bedroom door. Like he’s keeping watch on the three of us. We moved back to Mumbai exactly a year ago. With our two goa indies. We were so stressed about whether they would adapt. Strangely, the minute they got to the city, away from the street they lived on, it’s like they knew they were set for life. Because the reminder of the street they used to live on was gone, so they weren’t always on edge. They know now, Wherever we go, they know they are coming. Seeing them settle here, sleep 16 hours a day without a care in the world, is I think the greatest moment of this year for me. It’s been an amazing amazing blessing 🧿show more

My surgery went well yesterday - thank you everyone... for all the kind words and prayers. I know this corner of ours means it when they say it. Lotta pain, but that's to be expected. Now lemme put a smile on your face: We've done this so many times with old shelter dogs, and the pattern is almost always the same - when they get here, they're usually nervous and quiet; unsure of what is in store and what their life is gonna be like. After being here with me, OBX Dog Walker and the rest of the dogs, they start to relax and be the dog they wanna be; the dog they were or could have been before they were abandoned. Molly was so quiet and reserved when we got her, and now? Yeah. She's right at home, letting me know I need to get off my ass and feed her. Love to see it. And I'm grateful to all of you.show more

How long should my baby use a pacifier? I... get this question a lot and it’s a tough one - both because there isn’t a single correct answer and because (like feeding and sleep) the topic brings out lots of strong opinions. But if you ask me, the family in this video has the right idea. Infants are born with a strong sucking reflex and pacifiers can help them to soothe and sleep. There’s even some evidence to suggest that sleeping with pacifiers might reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). In short: for babies (up to a year), I’m a big fan. But it’s not uncommon to see children with pacifiers well into toddlerhood, and in some cases, even beyond. And here I’d raise some important cautions. Children who rely heavily on pacifiers may be more prone to middle ear infections. And dentists note that prolonged pacifier use can affect your child’s teeth and create bite issues. Perhaps most importantly is their potential to impact expressive language development. Your child’s ability to speak is an important one. After a point, language shapes not only the content of our thinking, but the very structure of our cognition. By otherwise occupying the mouth over long periods of time, pacifiers may slow language development by limiting opportunities for expression. Speaking with a pacifier in the mouth can also lead to distortion of speech sounds (even when they aren’t in the mouth). All told, I’m an advocate for beginning to wean off of pacifiers at around a year of age - which is why this video spoke to me. We see an infant appropriately using one and big sister demonstrating her expressive language, her mouth unencumbered and free to chatter away happily. Sometimes people make comments like "Those poor service dogs;... all they do is work. They never get to just be a dog and play." Comments like that are far from true. I have lots of play time, lots of nap time, and lots of time for shenanigans. Us dogs don't view work the way humans do. To us, most of our work is made up of play or games. Like push the button with a paw or nose, retrieve the item, or even odor detection which is basically true or false with your sniffer. A good portion of being service dog is simply being there. We're not working every moment of the day. It's basically a paid on call position. I'm ready anytime she needs me to lend a paw. But I still have time to play with my baby brother, watch my favorite TV shows, go for walks or to the park, have social visits, and do dog sports! What I don't have is long periods of time at home alone. There's actually Chesnyy alone time that's scheduled, like when my brother goes for walks, so that I have some me time and don't develop separation anxiety. Basically I get to go pretty much everywhere with my best friend and I get paid to play games. I think I am super lucky to have this job. What started as a random moment in a busy street turned into a heart-melting scene. My theory on "non-binary" identities: Some women have extremely... low self-esteem, which leads to them being uncomfortable with the idea of femininity. And after all, if women are supposed to be feminine beautiful, but they're not feminine & don't *feel* beautiful, they must not be women. So they reject womanhood in favor of a more neutral label. "Non-binary." Now they don't have to deal with the associations or expectations of being a woman OR a man. As someone who has struggled with self-esteem and body image, I understand the thought process and inclinations. However, being a woman or man isn't something you feel or perform. It's just what you are. Putting on a suit doesn't make you a different gender. I feel for people like Bella Ramsey, but the truth is young women not being comfortable in their own skin is nothing new or revolutionary.show more

The answer is that young children’s early play closely mirrors their day-to-day experience: feeding and care routines, hugging, kissing, and bedtime. So what better plaything than a baby of their own? Playing with dolls nurtures a host of skills - fostering language and motor development, creative thinking, and social- emotional development. MY HEART DROPPED today 😳 This morning, 5 Law... Enforcement Vehicles came flying into my driveway as I was leaving. The SWAT guys got out with guns pulled. I had to walk VERY slowly to them with my hands up. It was the longest walk of my life. Long story short, a call was placed on their hotline that a man was in the house with a shotgun threatening to kill everyone inside. That obviously wasn’t the case but they had to do their job and they are the best at what they do. Very grateful for our Law Enforcement Officers even though in the moment I didn’t like one’s that had guns aimed at me 😂. After the situation was cleared, we were all able to breathe and even laugh together. 2025 has been a WILD ride so far.show more

10 days. Two countries. JUST THE TWO OF THEM...from... quiet walks and random shopping stops, to meeting friends.... We can all see that they are so so happy and IN LOVE...
