A little more from what we’ve been creating for... ColorOS 17. This time, we’re taking smoothness a little further — beyond performance, into visual flow. Our new Luminous Effect brings light, material, and motion together, making the interface feel more fluid and translucent. And the Fluid Cloud is where you can really see it come alive — flowing with gestures, pulsing with music, and transforming across different moments. For us, visual flow is not just about how things move. It’s about how naturally everything comes together.#OPPOColorOS17show more

The telephoto system on the vivo X300 Ultra is... a bit insane. This generation brings upgrades not only in sensor specifications, but also in stabilization and subject tracking, pushing smartphone telephoto photography closer to the level of professional cameras. 1. Upgraded 200MP “Thanos Telephoto” system The X300 Ultra uses a Blueprint × Samsung HP0 200-megapixel telephoto sensor, representing the fifth generation of the Zeiss-branded “Thanos telephoto.” Building on the previous HPE solution, vivo further refined the sensor through deep customization, improving color rendering, autofocus, HDR performance, and power efficiency, allowing this 200MP telephoto to deliver stronger overall imaging performance. 2. Gimbal-level stabilization and 60fps tracking capture The X300 Ultra introduces around 3° optical stabilization on its telephoto lens, a massive jump compared with the 0.7°–1° typically seen in telephoto OIS systems and even beyond the 1.2° on the X200 Ultra. This enables CIPA 7.0-level professional stabilization. The stronger stabilization significantly improves handheld shooting at long focal lengths, including 200mm, 400mm, and beyond. In addition, the device features a Blueprint high-refresh tracking engine that supports 60fps motion capture, doubling the industry’s common 30fps capability and allowing telephoto cameras not only to capture static subjects, but also to reliably track fast-moving targets.show more

Prompt: Ultra-realistic first-person POV construction site scene, a partially... completed multi-story reinforced concrete and steel-frame building standing in front of the camera. Two black-gloved hands visible in the foreground, one hand pointing toward the building as if controlling or constructing it. With a magical cinematic effect, concrete slabs and steel structural elements rapidly assemble and rise into place, creating realistic dust clouds and debris movement. Bright clear blue sky, warm sunlight, active construction site, exposed rebar, realistic sand and machinery, dramatic perspective, handheld camera movement, photorealistic textures, cinematic lighting, high detail, 4K, vertical 9:16, realistic physics, smooth continuous motion, no text, no watermark.show more

Alfred Hitchcock on the Vertigo effect: Interviewer: "In Vertigo,... where they’re climbing up the stairs in the tower, there is a very strange effect." Hitchcock: "That effect took thirty years to get. It really did. When I was making Rebecca, I had a scene where Joan Fontaine is supposed to faint. I explained to Selznick I wanted to get the effect of her looking and everything seeming to go far away. Where I got the idea from was at the Royal Chelsea Arts Ball in London on New Year’s Eve. I remembered at a certain time during the evening everything seemed to go far away. And I asked for this effect and they said they couldn’t do it. I tried again about five years later. For Vertigo they tried different effects and finally it was arrived at by a combination of a dolly shot and a zoom lens crossing each other. Dollying in and zooming out. When the head of special effects came to me I said how much was it going to cost. He said $50,000 to put a camera high and take it up and zoom it, because of the enormous rig. I said, ‘‘But there is no one in the set.’’ Why didn’t they make a miniature and lay it on its side? “Oh, I hadn’t thought of that.” So they did it and it cost $19,000." — "Dialogue on Film: Alfred Hitchcock", American Film Institute, 1972show more

I have been exploring Pexo Pexo as a simpler... way to turn ideas and footage into polished, editorial-style videos. With Collage Motion, you can bring together different clips, movement, transitions, and visual elements to create social intros, event teasers, interviews, or brand stories. What I like about this direction is that you can start with a simple concept and build it into something that feels much more produced, without needing a full production team. For solo creators, it’s a practical way to experiment with different visual ideas while keeping the workflow simple.show more

Tried something new today. I made a character based... environment and color direction board. First extracting the character’s palette, then translating it into an environment palette, and finally mapping where those colors should appear on the background, midground, foreground, lighting, shadows, and accents. Hard to tell if it’s fully working in this clip, and this might not be the best example, so I’ll test it again with a different style and a longer video, perhaps. This is just me overcomplicating things, 100% not needed. You can get same results with simple prompts and random environments. Prompts below.show more
