Many 3D generators output Gaussian Splats (3DGS) for fast... rendering, flexible deployment, and high visual fidelity. Static 3DGS aren't world models (no dynamics/semantics) but a true world model must allow distilling 3D-consistent representations for any given time step (3DGS/meshes). This post-distillation serves a dual purpose: 1) validates physical consistency of the model. 2) extracting explicit representations avoids continuously running a heavy generator, thus saves compute and facilitates real-time interaction.show more

Gaussian splats are incredible—until you want them to move.... Normally, that means crazy 4D capture setups. Not anymore. Here is how anyone can rig and animate static splats using Mixamo. Blender playback can get brutal, so big props to PlayCanvas—their brilliant Super Splat sequence import saves the day. 🧵 Watch the full tutorial breakdown in the comments!show more

🚀 Gaussian Splatting Performance Breakthrough Achieved 6M photorealistic splats... rendering at 60-80 FPS in real-time in Unity. Mixamo character conversion + GPU compute shader skinning = photorealistic animated characters. Key optimizations: ✅ GPU compute shader skinning ✅ Efficient bone matrix updates ✅ Optimized buffer management ✅ Smart frame skipping This makes photorealistic characters from Nano-Banana PRO viable for real-time VR/AR applications. 🎨 Gaussian Splat rigging opens infinite artistic possibilities! Realtime... rendering with my VHS effect in VR 1.5M splats running at 80 FPS in VR with bone-based Mixamo rig animation. Travel into the volumetric worlds of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, reimagined in that bold 1980s sci-fi aesthetic ✨ World Labs Theoretically Media Technical • GPU compute shader skinning (256 threads) • Linear Blend Skinning (LBS) with up to 4 bones per splat • Bind pose capture for accurate deformation • CommandBuffer synchronization for frame-perfect timing Why splats are perfect for comic art I think: Each splat is a volumetric 3D ellipsoid that naturally creates crisp edges and flat color regions—the essence of cel-shading. No complex shader tricks needed. The volumetric representation itself gives you that graphic novel aesthetic. #Realtime #GaussianSplatting #VR #GameDev #Unity3D #VolumetricRendering #ComicArtshow more
