WOW v14.3.2 is very decisive and is able to... execute with great confidence. Big fan. That said, in my first drive it messed up *spectacularly* twice in <15 miles of suburban driving. In one instance, it swerved out of its through lane of traffic into a lane that was ending, right as it was ending. It was not trying to overtake any vehicles, it just swerved over violently. ugh The other, in the video below, it did not consider that the left lane was turn-only, and tried to use it overtake other vehicles while their light was red. (this intersection begins with left turn green and through-lanes red) It is still very slow to merge into the proper lane in time for a turn, and ended up cutting off a large truck to make its turn. Could it have completed its maneuvers and continued without intervention? Yes. Would it be safe or legal to do so? No. Plenty of work left to do on FSD.show more

In 1401, the cathedral chapter of Seville met to... decide what to build on the ruins of the city's mosque. According to tradition, this is what they agreed: "Let us build a church so beautiful and so great that those who see it finished will think we were mad." It took more than a century, and when it was finished it was the largest cathedral on earth, and it is still the largest Gothic cathedral in the world... The minaret of the old mosque was left standing and turned into the bell tower, the Giralda. It has no staircase. Inside are thirty-five wide ramps, built so the muezzin could ride a horse to the top to call the city to prayer. People have been climbing them for hundreds of years. And inside the cathedral stands what its own archives call the largest altarpiece in Christendom: a wall of carved wood and gold nearly thirty metres high, telling the life of Christ. The Flemish sculptor who began it, Pieter Dancart, worked on it until he died. It took almost a hundred years to finish. Not one of the men who said that sentence in 1401 lived to see the building completed... India Picks Global South Oil Over US Crude One... of India’s biggest refiners, the Indian Oil Corporation, has skipped buying oil from the US in its latest purchase, and instead has bought 2mn barrels from West Africa (Nigerian Agbami and Usan grades) and one million barrels from the Middle East (Abu Dhabi’s Das crude). It its previous purchase, it bought 5mn barrels of West Texas Intermediate, but the cost of US oil was higher this time, around $4 higher than Brent. The latest buys are expected to arrive at Indian ports in late October to early November.show more

Ukrainian drones have attacked Moscow's largest oil refinery. One... in three cars in Moscow runs on fuel from that refinery—but now, drones have struck it. The Moscow refinery meets around 35% of the Russian capital's fuel needs. The facility supplies up to 40% of Moscow's gasoline requirements and about 50% of its diesel needs. Bitumen from the Moscow refinery is used in the construction or repair of one in every two roads in the Russian capital.
