Kidney stones are hard deposits made of minerals and... salts. While smaller stones often pass naturally through hydration, larger or more stubborn stones require medical intervention to be cleared. Here are the 4 primary methods used by doctors: 1. Shock Wave Lithotripsy (SWL): This is the most common non-invasive treatment. A machine uses high-energy sound waves (shock waves) to create strong vibrations. These vibrations break the large stone into tiny "dust" or sand-like pieces that can then be passed through urine. 2. Ureteroscopy: For stones located in the ureter or kidney, a doctor may use a thin, flexible scope. The scope is passed through the bladder and up into the ureter. Once the stone is located, it is either captured in a small "basket" and removed or broken apart using a laser so the fragments can pass later. 3. Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL): This is typically reserved for very large or complex stones. A small incision is made in the patient's back to reach the kidney directly. A nephroscope is then used to locate and remove the stone, often using ultrasonic or laser energy to break it up first. 4. Natural Passage: For stones smaller than 5mm, the most common "removal" method is simply waiting. This requires high fluid intake (water) and often medication (like alpha-blockers) to help relax the muscles in the ureter, allowing the stone to pass with less pain. ⚠️ Note: If you are experiencing severe pain, nausea, or fever, it is important to consult a healthcare professional immediately, as these can be signs of a blockage or infection. 🪦Here, carved into a 200+ year-old stone, lies the... mystery of Allord Myrick. During a cemetery clean-up last fall, the light hit this headstone at the perfect moment and caught my eye, so I knelt down to read the hand-carved inscription. It said: “Allord Myrick, b. April 18, 1796, d. Jun 1799.” Only three years old when young Allord died, his family was likely distraught by the loss. And in that era, grief was literally carved in stone. Back then, family members often carved markers for their loved ones themselves, which adds another layer to this story. Because it isn’t just the story of Allord, but the story of the family who lost him and chose to memorialize him in a stone that still holds his name more than 200 years later. I wanted to know more about them, but there are no other Myricks buried in this cemetery. So where did his family go? Maybe they’re here too, and the records have been lost to time. Or maybe they moved on after losing their son. We may never know, but it’s fascinating to imagine what the full story might have been.show more

THE ENGLISH LYRICS TO THE SONG 😭🥹🤍 "On a... night without stars in the sky. It's just an ordinary, quiet night. The atmosphere around me doesn't help at all. I want to take your hand and hold it tight, to tell you how much I love you. But I've never managed to say it out loud. Because usually, I'm not good with words. You probably know and understand this better than anyone. And the reason I don't say anything sweet or touching like others do. It's because I believe a love song, the one I give to you. Should only be one, just enough. If there are too many, those sweet words might lose their meaning. I want you to know. Let us speak through our eyes, every time we look at each other. Let you feel and know that I'm never far away. The stars in the sky fade because of the city's bright lights. But they've never truly gone anywhere. Because usually, I'm not good with words. You probably know and understand this better than anyone. And the reason I don't say anything sweet or touching like others do, it's because I believe a love song, the one I give to you. Should only be one, just enough. If there are too many, those sweet words might lose their meaning. Just like the word love, if said too often, I'm afraid you won't feel as moved as before. Though I don't say it much, deep in my heart. This person loves you more than anyone. I want you to know. That's the only one love song for you. The song I wrote for you will never lose its meaning. Even if I'm no longer here, or a hundred years pass by, my love will stay with you forever. Because I believe a love song, the one I give to you, should only be one, just enough. If there are too many, those sweet words might lose their meaning. Just like the word love, if said too often. I'm afraid you won't feel as moved as before. Though I don't say it much, deep in my heart. This person loves you more than anyone. Any rules experts want to weigh in on this... interesting play in Baltimore a bit ago? Daulton Varsho stole second, throw went into center, Varsho turned to go to third and collided with SS Jorge Mateo. Umpire clearly signaled obstruction, but Varsho didn't see the call and scampered back to second. Varsho wasn't awarded third base. Orioles broadcast said him going back to second nullified the obstruction, but I don't see anything in the rules allowing for that. Blue Jays broadcast, of course, thought Varsho should have been awarded third base. Unless I'm missing something, I agree with them.show more

This video brought joyful tears to my eyes this... morning. Two years ago, my nanny decided to leave abruptly. I was rotating through general surgery with heavy patient load, frequent calls, and needed to stay in the hospital for several days during unit calls and patients that required us to operate till 2am. My husband had just closed for the year. So I had to drop our 10-month-old with him for about 3 weeks before I got another nanny. He bathed her. Fed her. Washed her hair. Spent quality time with her while I was at work. I didn't have to choose between my career and my child because he stepped up. This morning, that little girl, now 3 years old, knocked on my door and said: "Mummy, open the door. I want to greet you and Daddy." Oh, my word! Fully cohesive. Fully intentional. I can't believe how much she's grown. People talk about "having it all" like it's something you do alone. It's not. You can be an excellent surgeon AND an excellent mother, but not without a strong support system. Who you marry matters because they hold the line when you can't. I'm grateful for this man. And for the bond he built with our daughter when I couldn't be there. I can't even be jealous. Partnership isn't about splitting tasks 50/50.It's about stepping in 100% when your partner needs you to. Enjoy your weekend 😘show more

“Bruce Lee had me up to three miles a... day, really at a good pace. We'd run the three miles in twenty-one or twenty-two minutes. Just under eight minutes a mile [Note: when running on his own in 1968, Lee would get his time down to six-and-a-half minutes per mile]. So this morning he said to me ‘We're going to go five.’ I said, ‘Bruce, I can't go five. l'm a helluva lot older than you are, and I can't do five.’ He said, ‘When we get to three, we'll shift gears and it's only two more and you'll do it.’ I said ‘Okay, hell, I'll go for it.’ So we get to three, we go into the fourth mile and I'm okay for three or four minutes, and then I really begin to give out. I'm tired, my heart's pounding, I can't go any more and so I say to him, ‘Bruce, if I run any more, — and we're still running — ‘if I run any more I'm liable to have a heart attack and die.’ He said, ‘Then die’ It made me so mad that I went the full five miles. Afterward I went to the shower and then I wanted to talk to him about it. I said, you know, ‘Why did you say that?’ He said, ‘Because you might as well be dead. Seriously, if you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it'll spread over into the rest of your life. It'll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.’” - John Little, “The Art of Expressing the Human Body” (1998)show more

Perrie admits she’s “frustrated” by how Jesy Nelson has... portrayed the breakdown of her relationship with Little Mix, adding that she feels the group consistently tried supporting Jesy at the cost of their own mental health, and that accountability should be taken on all sides: “Sometimes you just won’t win with people. And what annoys me the most… I have to be careful how I say this because I don’t want to seem like a bitch… But what upsets me the most when situations like this happen is when the other person doesn’t take any accountability. That boils my blood. I’m not blaming everything on you [Jesy]. I’m not saying, ‘She’s this fucking monster and everything was her fault’ and blah blah blah. But take some accountability for your actions and realise you were difficult. You did have difficult moments. Granted, there were reasons for those moments... but you can only pick somebody up so many fucking times before you start losing track of your own sanity. You want to be there for that person, but if they can’t accept the help and they can’t accept the love you’re trying to show, how do you win? You can’t. I hate that. I don’t like putting the blame on people. Don’t put the blame on me and make me out to be something that I’m not. Yes, I’m not perfect. I might not have been there enough, or I could have done better I suppose… but I thought what I was doing was enough. I thought I’d tried everything. So to then sit there in further interviews and discuss it publicly and be like, ‘I wasn’t supported’… You were, though. You were. So just take some accountability and I’ll feel better about it. I’d say [I’m] more frustrated than angry, because I don’t like being painted into a person that I’m not. Because I’m an open book, I have to be real. It exhausts me when I see people that I know inside and out not being genuine. It frustrates me.”show more

Five years ago, I became a mommy. A lot... of you know me as Logo Queen, but not many of you know me as a mom. Sometime in 2021, I gave birth to my handsome, adorable son. He is the reason I am who I am today. He’s the reason I became Logo Queen. He’s the reason I put so much effort into my craft and kept pushing even when life felt impossible. When I was pregnant with him, I lost all my savings. I was literally left with nothing. And I knew I didn’t want to bring a child into the world where he wouldn’t be proud of his mom. After giving birth in 2021, I went through postpartum depression and many difficult moments. But in that process, I decided to pick up a tech skill. I tried learning coding and design, and design was the one that truly clicked for me. So I focused on it around January–February 2022. My son is my everything. He’s the reason I pushed on nights when I had every excuse not to. He’s the reason I stayed consistent, the reason I fought to change my life, and the reason I decided to build something meaningful for myself. My story is proof that you can write your own story. Yes, motherhood can be heavy. It comes with so many responsibilities. But it can also be the stepping stone to greatness. It doesn’t have to be the obstacle standing between you and your dreams. So today, I’m celebrating myself. Happy Mother’s Day to me. 🤍show more

I saw a post about the furry community being... full of fake assholes, I agree, Ive been ghosted, ignored, passed by more times then I can count, hell most people hate me for who I am, the way I talk the way I act. But im never gonna apologize, because real people do exist, all the pain that people can cause, not accepting you for who you are, goes out the window when you find someone who does. I know I don't fit the mold, I know its hard to be my friend because im just so bizzare to put it lightly, and I know people out there feel the same way.. but im saying this all because I was once caught in that trap, I wasnt invited out, people ignored me didn't give a fuck, I doubted myself, hated myself, but all it took was one dude. One dude I just clicked with. I guess what im trying to say is don't lose hope, your friend is out there, I found mine in foxtrot. You will find your tribe even if its just one other soul. they exist, and it may take a day, it may take years.. but you will find them. More slop to come, I love you all, I hope this post helps someone, never give up, because if this borderline personality disorder, depression having, schizo bozo with no social skills can make friends so can you!show more

I'm laying in my tent reflecting on my life... right now..and I have to say, some would say my life situation of being homeless is a sad thing .. because you see people out there who are addicts and in bad situations .. but mine isn't anything like that. Although I havent had a home in 10 years, I see and feel the blessing. I'm so free in life to live how I want in life. Sure while sometimes I desire a bed to come home too.. I get to have a bed anywhere in life I want. I'm so free to live and explore as I please with nothing to tie me down. If I could share any piece of advice, it is simple do not trade your freedom of life for the chains of society and what they deem how YOU should live. I promise in this day and age you can be so free and make money without anyone there to tell you when to clock in, when to eat lunch, when you can use the bathroom, none of that! I hope you all find the bliss I feel in life someday.show more

A lot going on. So first let me make... the announcement that despite the DOJ and FBI deliberately stonewalling me for 5 years, I have retrieved (most of) my property that was wrongfully seized after January 6. It's mostly in disrepair, but I'll address that later. Today I had business to take care of in Congress. Framed as a domestic terrorist and insurrectionist after January 6, when I was only a comedian who peacefully picketed, I returned today to Congress in the wrinkled and torn suit the feds kept from me - ever the satirist. They should have just left me the fuck alone. Now with only a fraction of the property I had no access to before my trial, I can prove that FBI agents and vindictive prosecutors maliciously misrepresented my character and my motivations, wrongfully robbing me of years of freedom for questioning their regime, but again I'll address that later. I remember the names and faces of every person that worked to destroy me. Every single one. They're burned into my memory. I am not like most people. The more you fuck with me the longer I am willing to wait for justice to come to you. I have superhuman patience. I endured years of torment through nothing but faith and sheer tyranny of will. Judges, prosecutors, jailhouse snitches, backstabbers, reporters - I have survived all of their attempts to smear me, break me, and silence me. But I will be the one to write the history of January 6 and its aftermath, and their names will only be footnotes. If you were entrapped by the feds too on that fateful day, keep your chin up, because the torment we've endured must be documented for posterity and the people who did this to us need to be brought to justice. That can only happen if you stay in the fight. Every dirtbag that smeared you in the press needs to be confronted for publishing lies. Every informant, agent, prosecutor and judge who betrayed, entrapped, incarcerated, and dehumanized you needs to be named and removed from any influence they have in public life. The system will try to move on from January 6 and the humanitarian disaster it caused to thousands of Americans. If we all keep pushing back, the system will still keep trying to ignore us, sure. But if you don't push back it is a 100% certainty that your surrender will be gratefully accepted and nothing will change. I know we are all different. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, I will never stop demanding justice while I walk this earth. I don't care what party controls Congress or the White House. Most impressive and memorable Songkran 💦 🧸: can you... believe that I used to play Songkran in Silom (a well-known street in Bangkok for playing Songkran) for two years? But my dad was there too, I wasn’t there by myself. I was there with my friends from school, and the parents were all behind us. My dad would shoot (water gun) people who’d shoot me. 🦋: dad is protective 🧸: yes! I’ve never had anyone dabbed powder on my face. I don’t allow it to be touched as I’m very protective of my face. I’m mainly focused on spraying the water. This year I’m not sure where I’d be playing or if I’ll play, but let’s wait and see because I might pop up somewhere to play or I might just be sleeping at home. ……………………………………………………………………….. 🦋: on the back of a pickup truck in/around Chiang Mai moat (famous for playing Songkran in Chiang Mai) and got to have ice as well (in the water). Went all out! I used to be a real fan of Songkran, but since I’ve grown up, I’m like…there are very few days of sleep for me, so I feel like on days off I‘ll just sleep. 🎤: spend time with your family 🦋: yes, I tell my mum and dad to stay at home and sleep. ‘Let’s sleep at home. I mean you do have a very good point,... however I hope you can understand where I come from. (Sorry I’m advance for the long tweet back) This is exactly what I use to do when I was their age. We didn’t have the luxury of an independent scene we do now and even if we did I was 14 years old, I was only allowed to go to a training school to learn the basics. But I had an enormous passion for the business & if I wasn’t allowed to work shows I’d do it myself. - and I’d argue that because of this I had a head start on a lot of the people I trained with when I finally turned 18 From there I’ve been lucky enough to have the support of friends, peers & fans to push me into what I am today. The fact I’ve still had that same style for now 17 years and this is my first surgery, I think I’ve looked after my body. Think about it 17 years this is my first major injury. You think this is stupid, I would say it’s equally as stupid as to fall off a scaffolding breaking both your legs. And while I’m sure there’s a few people that wished you landed on your head, I for one hope you’re doing well & not in too much pain from your injury. But to me, it showed the care that you have for the industry at that time. I see myself in these guys that are finding any outlet to do what they love. Their bumps are solid & basing is great. Like I said I understand there is a level of danger doing this so I hope none of them get hurt but I can’t help but root for these guys and hope I one day see them in a ring. Once again sorry for the long arse tweet and hope the message finds you well boss.show more

There's something about design that truly makes me happy.... Before I was diagnosed with a complete SCI, I loved building thing with my hands and trying to make them unique and beautiful. The accident didn't just take my mobility, it robbed me of my creative drive. I didn't I would ever get that back that was up until Neuralink came into the picture. I was very serious about applying but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Then Noland Arbaugh comes into the picture and I see his video and I saw how passionate he was toward the whole ide and that was like a switch. I want to thank Noland because if I hadn't seen that video I wouldn't be typing this message with my thoughts. So the day I gained control of the device I had the guys install Autodesk Fusion and the first night I had my first part designed by BCI. I have been designing things non-stop since. Now lets talk tools and the first one is the ArcDroid it is a CNC robot that holds a plasma torch and can cut profiles in sheet metal. I have made numerous signs, letters and parts with this and i love it. I have also had the chance to help the local high school install and setup their CNC plasma table. I love being able to share my knowledge with others and show new technology to kids that want to learn. The next one everybody is more familiar with is the Bambu Lab X1C. It is my first 3D printer and I had no idea how dang handy these things were! I can go from thought, Neuralink, Fusion, X1C and poof! You have your part all in a matter of like a hour. I make everything from parts for my wheelchair or RC ✈ to toys for my nephew. These devices have completely changed my life. I now have my creative outlet back and I'm not done looking for new things to try. I'm thinking a laser next!!!😎 Thank you Elon Musk for the opportunity to showcase my skills, I'm extremely grateful🙏show more

I began my art journey in 2002 as a... mature student, applying to Leith School of Art for their portfolio preparation year and then to Edinburgh College of Art for the 5 year MA Fine Art program. I was 38 years old at my graduation. My classmates called me 'Grandpa Jones', seriously. 😂 I spent the next 7 years working 3 or 4 jobs/100+ hours a week (waitering, art tutoring, charity director, Airbnb host) so I could pay for my very expensive painting habit and paint enough for an annual solo exhibition (that I had to organise and pay for myself for most of them as no commercial galleries were interested in QR code/AR tech infused paintings)... and every year but one I lost money. I was my accountants biggest loser over and over and over. 😅 So, from 32 to nearly 50 years old with my art career being a horrendous detriment to my financial future I questioned my life decisions... daily. But I never gave up. In fact, it was the opposite. With every rejection letter, with every let down and disappointment, with every financial loss, with every exhibition that didn't sell enough to even cover the costs of paint, canvas and framing, I pushed even harder. I worked even harder. I looked for new ways to differentiate myself from all the other artists around me and I invested everything I had into me and my future. Fortune favours the brave. If you're willing to put in the time, the work and the risk you will be rewarded. It may take 5 years, 10 years, 20 years or more but eventually, if you keep working and taking the risks that the rest are not willing to take (creatively and financially) you will succeed. Don't blame others for your failure. Take the knock backs, take the disappointments, take the rejections, and use them to drive you. If you are willing and able to commit 100% for however long it takes, you will succeed. This is a fact and I'm proof of that. Stop listening to the FUD, stop listening to those who don't believe in you. Show them how wrong they are. Again, it may take years, even decades, but fortune favours the bold and this is undeniable. Will you give up or will you keep pushing, learning, growing, expanding your ideas and your creative output? If you are, I look forward to seeing what you're doing, what you're creating and where you'll be in the next few years and beyond. Comment below and then connect with me in 2 years and tag me. So much of my time here I have spend... dreaming. Dreaming for the day that has now arrived. For years I spend my days grinding to fulfill a promise made by a 25 year old right after having the biggest night of his life. Midnight夏季Breeze sold out in 30 minutes. And for someone who had less then 5000$ in the bank, suddenly making 1.5 million dollars was kind of insane. Euphoric I said "v2 will come for those who hold a breeze" Little did I know how much that single promise would affect my life. I have spend majority of my late 20s painting this world. And been very critical of what this space is about. I wanted to be a voice you could rely on. Someone that shows up, is approachable, but also be the change I'd want to see. Everyday looked the same for me, make coffee, walk dog, turn on pc, paint until dinner, walk the dog again. I sometimes quite literally went insane. The pressure was high. I had to make this project real. And there was always so much to do. Art direct, animate, color grade , composite, 3d , sound effects , music, development, management like countless hats to wear all the time. The Vision however, called me. There was no way I was gonna give up, or quit. Though every vibre in me wanted to. My health , my personal life, they demanded it. But I did not stop. And that persistence has let to today. It has let to an industry that doesn't care. A timeline that can only talk about something if its $ related. And a world that is more chaotic then ever before. And amidst it all, I fulfilled my promise. Fragments of the Lonely Road is here. And I do not think you will ever understand what it means. But, I do know, that this art. This project. This vision. It has been worth it. So now, if you made it all the way down here. I want you to rally. I want you to make noise. I want you to share with the world what this is about. I want you to be the storm that says, "shit can be different". And I will be the wave, and show, why that's the case. GM. STAY BREEZY AND... (you say it in the comments!)show more

I don't think carbs are a problem for building... muscle. I want to be clear about that, because I'm going to be misquoted on it within fifteen minutes of posting. Carbs can be very useful. They're perfectly healthy in the right context, eaten by someone whose metabolism handles them well, in quantities that match their training. There are physiques built on rice and chicken. There are physiques built on potatoes. The world is large. What I don't think is that carbs are necessary. When you train the way I train, low rep, low volume, high intent, you're predominantly using the phosphocreatine system. The first ten seconds of any heavy effort. Glycogen is barely touched. You're not draining a system that needs refilling. You're not running a marathon at the end of every set. Once you're properly fat adapted, six months in, sometimes longer, the body becomes extraordinarily efficient at running on fat and ketones for everything that isn't a sprint. Meat and fat take care of the building. Ketones take care of the energy. The system is closed. The bonus is everything else. You feel better. You recover faster. You look trimmer because you're not retaining water from glycogen storage. You don't have post-meal slumps. You don't need a pre-workout to get through a session that should already feel manageable. Six years on carnivore. Six years of training. The physique is there. The strength is there. The recovery is there. Carbs aren't the enemy. They're just not the requirement they've been sold as. You can build a body you're proud of without them, on meat and fat and a pot of butter. That's been good enough a reason to keep me here.show more

VTubing is for everyone! I don't like to bring... this up, but recent events in the VTuber community made some people really vile. I had my M&G at HolMat last week and had people come up and just yell at me for being a girl in the "womans world", that is VTubing, no idea about who I was, or why I was there. I had the same group return to my handler multiple times, I felt really worried about the person carrying me around having to deal with this repeatedly and tried to steer them away from the group. It seems they found my YT and left me a handful of the same comments, luckily all caught by moderation tools. While I will refrain from M&G's for a little until this calms down I want to say this; I have been managing for over 1.5 years now, I deliberately take on male VTubers to show them that they can still do it. I take on people that have babiniku accounts, those that are changing from one gender presentation to another and want help, and those that have no gender presentation in their avatar. A lot of male VTubers struggle to find a manager because the stereotype is that all male VTubers are evil and it perpetuates a stereotype that extends beyond entertainment industry subcultures like streaming. VTubing has always been a medium, while character and marketing matters, it's about what makes you happy, YOU are the person that makes the content. Use whatever you want as an avatar, use a voice changer if that's what you want to do. Every month I have a male client bring up they can't do it the same way, that it's easier if jiggle physics or a cute voice is the answer to fast growth. And I tell them yeah, I can also do ASMR, I can do drama content, collab with a larger person, and get to x amount of viewers. There are shortcuts in every entertainment profession and subculture. Does it last? Do quick fixes for anything ever last? Yes, great physics and an expensive model can get people in, but if your value, your way of interacting with people, your content plan and marketing is ass, you can pack up. Most of us start on a small budget, premade or resold models, and it's the same in the big league entertainment industry too. Can I take out a loan and put myself on a billboard tomorrow, can I pay the most expensive model artist and rigger and get in along corporate VTubers tomorrow? Sure. Will it last, will it be genuine, will people trust me? Hell no. Genuine communities and growth build trust. I think streaming, creative industries, entertainment, are full of people, regardless of gender, that will see success and call it "easy", because of what they see as the end product. They don't see most VTubers working a second job, they don't see the managers, they don't see 100+ hours a month going into content production, years invested in singing and voice lessons, model redebut after redebut. I think a lot of male VTubers get a bad rep, because so many boys are raised without putting emphasis on empathy and creativity, watching my brothers be told they should not pursue art, that theatre class is a waste of time, and that they needed to go study x or y to make money for their families in the future was heartbreaking. Nobody should have to look at others and feel so much hatred for society they turn against a whole group of people. If you want to pursue entertainment, please do. If you want to grow and try and make a name for yourself, you should start there, not with yelling about how you already failed. "Oh but I can't", "Oh but the odds are stacked against me", look at the big streamers, look at Ironmouse who overcame everything with hard work, look at Kiara who rose from the ashes, look at everyone that fights against their odds every day and give it your all. If you already think you lost, then you have nothing to lose. Don't give up on your dreams because others tell you to.show more

Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles and the Utah... Jazz were up 3-1 on Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets in the 2020 playoffs. But Denver came all the way back to tie the series at 3-3. And then in Game 7... With 30 seconds to go, the score was tied 78-78, when Jokic backs down Gobert for a righty hook that put Denver up 80-78. But somehow the ball found it's way to Conley for this buzzer-beating pull up 3 for the win that rims out. I think Mike would tell you that might have been the low point of his career. There's something fitting about Conley, at 38 years old, out of nowhere, moving back into the starting lineup with his team up 3-1 on Denver. I think an earned shot at redemption.show more
