The PCB’s in today’s smartphones contain an ever-increasing density... of components and integration. The iPhone uses “Substrate-Like” PCB technology to achieve impressive levels of component density, everything is so closely packed, and no space is wasted. With this PCB technology, a "PCB sandwich" could be made by creating cavities in an FR4 PCB substrate and then stacking another PCB on top to form a lid, the “walls” formed by the cavities can be plated and then used as interconnects. This is similar to hollowing out the inside of a loaf of bread and then filling it with cheese & ingredients – or components in this case! Standard FR4 substrates A clever and smart PCB technology for the modern smartphone. Apple has been using Substrate-Like PCBs since the iPhone X and has been evolving and iterating it with every new iPhone release. It will be interesting to see how this concept is implemented now with the new iPhone 15, looking forward to seeing iFixit next teardown! #b3d #blender3d #geometrynodes #iPhone15Pro #iPhone15 #simulation #electronics #Engineering #hardware #Smartphones #science #kicad #altium #freecad #Eevee #pcbdesign #manufacturing #technology #artshow more

i'm writing my own gui framework in c++ and... rewriting my image editor using it, which is going good so far, i wanted to move from swiftui, qt, tauri, electron, react native, and flutter so i can use metal and directx gpu apis on macos and windows as much as possible,so i think going full metal/directx is the way to go i know i have a very hard and long way to go though as there are many many flaws, bugs in this very very early version and doesnt utilize the gpu as much as i want to but i hope we will get there soon ,i also need to make the ui look somewhat decent instead of whatever mess it is right nowshow more

Opus 4.6 vs GPT 5.4 (High) (1/9) prompt: Build... a single-file HTML/CSS/JS (no libs) demo that uses SVG to simulate a plant growing: stem extends, leaves sprout + unfurl with springy/windy “physics”, then seamlessly loops forever. For the initial impressions I'm really impressed by GPT, for speed they both felt about the same, but gpt was still half cheaper than opus. I also much prefer the design and animation that gpt produced, physics on the leaves are super cool and it also loops pretty nicely whilst opus just fades out the plant. Still got a bunch of tests to run but this is really exciting.show more

Bon bread is what we eat in my house,... and honestly we’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve even recommended it to a few friends, and none of them have complained so far. That said, I haven’t watched the video the lady made, so I can’t confirm whether she mentioned any specific brand or not. So just to be certain, I’ll run my own little test. I’ll stop eating from this very one here for about 1–2 weeks, then come back with a proper update on what I observe. Deal?show more

004/100 Buttons. A bit of the process on building... an animation. When looking at a finished animation or in this example a finished button, it can look quite complex inside the CSS. But when building it, it’s more like a lot of simple steps, one after another. Here I had the idea to make some kind of text animation like the footer logo on the Osmo site. I try to add the base animation with no complex easing, for example transition: translate 0.4s ease. Starting with just moving the one text from bottom to top and the other text to top. Adding a stagger, play around with it. Searching for a way to make it more circular. On the research I found the sin() function inside CSS which can build a more smooth non linear curve for the stagger which creates this circular effect. And step by step adding more complexity like, different easing for hover/hover-out, opacity, 3D transform and more. I use also the sin() function to rotate the letters, so the middle ones are getting more rotated than the outer ones. Another thing which helps is to add a small delay on hover, for example 0.05s or 0.1s, you don’t really see the difference, but when you hover pretty fast on and out it doesn’t get that jumpy. I’m using here GSAP’s SplitText to split every char into spans. And then I’m adding a CSS index variable to every span, starting from the center. SplitText can provide CSS index variables, but you cannot tell it from which direction. For the sin() it’s also important to have a max length, so I add another CSS variable with the max char number on it. Crafting 100 Buttons with Osmo ⏳ Total time: 63hshow more

Kitten update #8: The kitties are back home! Everyone... is getting very strong and active now. I forgot to take their weights this morning so I'll have to do it before the next feeding, but I'm confident everyone is continuing to gain. We started adding in some wet food today. I mixed up a slurry with some of the formula and stuck it in a syringe with a nipple on it. Nobody took to it right away except gray tuxedo, who loved it, but everyone else got some squirted in while they were chewing on the milk nipple and then they loved it. Well, except for dark tortie, which is a little ironic since she is by far the biggest little monster of the litter, but I guess she's done so well on the formula she's not interested in making a change yet. Butts are all looking SO much better now that I stopped using the wet wipes. However, we have now started to have some concerns about little to no pooping. Dark tortie hasn't pooped for 24 hours so I eliminated the yogurt from the formula and am crossing my fingers for some action before the end of the day or back to the vet she goes. I don't know how long they'll let me play with their tummies like this but it sure is fun for now!show more

Xenoverse 2's Infinite History DLC seems to have gotten... a bug with the recent XV2 update. If you play the "Rivaled only by One" path in the "Unwelcome Challenger" quest, the game will crash once Vegeta wants to transform into Super Saiyan. So far I can only confirm this issue exists on Xbox, I tested it on my PlayStation as well and the quest worked fine there. Gameplay was recorded on the PC Game Pass version of XV2, but also exists on the actual Xbox console. #Xenoverse2 #DBXV2show more

emotions running high right now.... nothing i say will... truly encapsulate the feeling, so i'm only left with gratitude. these past two years have been life-changing, so many new friends made, so much art created, i think i will look back to this moment when i'm much older and consider it the beginning of the best era of my life. with the present is now concluded, i can start focusing on the future, and i couldn't be more excited. not only for the work that is to come, but to create it in the company of the core, the loyal group of folks who believed in my vision and had made kept the dream alive. from the bottom of my heart. thank you 🖤show more

My 15 year old and I are on the... way to Waco to run a 31 mile ultra we haven’t trained for. My car is driving me so I can load up on carbs. My son’s longest run is 8 miles and my last run was 4 miles, 7 months ago. If it were a 31 mile hike with some running mixed in no one would look twice. That’s basically what this is tbh. Ultras aren’t about running fast. They’re about running as slowly as you can bear for as long as you can. It’s frog in boiling water pain. Very gradual. What’s the bigger risk: an injury, or going 80 years without ever realizing your potential? You can literally just do things. (This is the best running song in the world btw. That + Coke will carry me).show more

The S3XY Dash from Enhance - S3XY Buttons is... one of the coolest Tesla accessories I've seen yet. I know many people want Android Auto/Apple Car Play, and this gives the OPTION to use those with your Tesla, along with tons of other info. They have 20% off for preorder, and you can get an additional 10% off with my link: I love using Waze on road trips, and this looks like the way to do it going forward. On top of having a customizable sized android auto experience, the Dash can display charging, vehicle, motor, battery and tons of other info. Enhance was also smart enough to not force it directly in front of the air vents. You can place it where you'd like with their included kit. All the widgets are also customizable, so you can add any you like and resize them. You can also make multiple pages to quickly flip through different info. There's SO much you can do with this *if you want it*. Great job on this one.show more

ZoArtix + AnaHí 📻 Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! ❤️🩹... This is a collab I did with ZoArtix! I decided to make everything based on my most well-known project so far, “As Goofy As Can Be.” There are so many options on their website — I chose a shared pair of acrylic keychains, another keychain with a holographic finish and double-sided artwork, and two character stands featuring their outfits from the fancomic! ✨️💕 I’m honestly tempted to make more designs of other characters I’ve drawn 👀 (The designs will be available to buy soon on my Patreon!) . . #AsGoofyAsCanBe #Maxleyshow more

Sakuga Over The Years (October 2010) KA: Yoshimichi Kameda... (亀田 祥倫) PV: Naruto Shippuden (NARUTO -ナルト- 疾風伝) ED15 It pains me that this ED is for filler because it is my favorite ED visual of all time and a bunch of people might not know it exists. It’s just Kameda, Kutsuna, ShingoYama, Koyanagi and others doing some great hand to hand and weapons combat for a minute 30 straight with a stylistic limited color palette. This Kameda cut is one of my favorites as well (if not my favorite) and while it definitely feels very Kanada in its pose-to-pose nature, it has this pretty fluid feeling as well. It’s funny how I said this about the post I highlighted for Hiroyuki Yamashita because he actually directed this ED! He was the director, storyboard artist, animation director, and did key animation as well. This is one of the first times he’d be involved in a project to this degree (this first being Shippuden ED12 which also looked good) and would continue to deliver for the franchise.show more

HTML Artifacts are a big part of how I... work with agents now. Artifacts can be more than just static files. When combined with agents, they can take action or help you take action. This unlocks all kinds of interesting ways to work with agents. This is clearly the future. Check out this writing and scheduler artifact I built in a few minutes. It uses a bit of HTML and JS. All the data is in markdown (Obsidian vaults), so the agent can access and modify it at any time. No DB needed. No sophisticated functionalities. The agent decides all that for me based on the skills, context, and memory it has access to. The best part about this simple stack is that all the important information stays with me. This has allowed me to build a recursive self-improving system and automations that can better tap into coding agents like Codex or Claude Code. I could have paid or built an entire app for scheduling posts, and there are so many of them out there. But I don't need to. I've realized a simple artifact does the job. And the simplicity of it is actually an advantage. Very little maintenance for very high returns on personalization, time, and efficiency. The other benefit of this is that I can add features as I please. That level of personalization feels magical, and we should all be pursuing more of it. All of this just keeps compounding. Of course, this example is just about writing. But I have similar artifacts for research, design, experimentation, evaluation, and so much more. And no, I didn't actually publish the post example I shared in the clip. It was just for demonstration purposes. I actually spend more time than this when writing together with agents. Lastly, having built my own agent orchestrator tool has made me realize that simplifying the tool stack is a superpower. If you are curious about how all this works, I will do a live session next week:show more

I explored a further possibility with local models: Qwen3.6... 35B A3B + NVIDIA LocateAnything-3B as a local Computer Use agent (proof of concept). In the demo, I asked it to switch my Mac to light mode. It did. Then back to dark. Did that too — finding the right toggle in System Settings, clicking it, and verifying the change itself. It's fully screenshot-based, so no Accessibility API needed. If it's on screen, the agent can see it and act on it. This runs entirely on your own hardware — private, local, built from two small open models.show more

Aidan O'Connell gets sacked on his final play last... night and in my opinion the sack is on the #Raiders QB just as much as it is on LT Andrus Peat. AOC has a 3 step drop which means the play is designed for him to get the ball out quick. If you don't get the ball out then a QB is going to need to Create something. But what you don't want him to do is back pedal into a sack. Peat does lose the rep, but he does a good job recovering and pushing the DE up the field. I think AOC's ability to feel pressure, get away from it, and throw on the run were some things I saw from him last year where he struggled with. So I do hope next week he shows a little bit more in that. Overall the play didn't work because Luke Getsy designed a really poor play where the spacing is off, I will talk about this more on my Youtube channel later today but you can clearly see that Bowers was supposed to be a natural pick for Tre Tucker at the bottom of the screen. But the spacing didn't work and the WR and TE run into each other.show more
