A big part of our lesson was learning front-side compression how the front leg and hip stabilize so the body can rotate up against it into contact. Too many hitters think forward momentum is “bad,” but it’s not. Moving forward is necessary, the key is keeping the body connected as it moves. We worked on using the rear lat and back side to pull back and stay connected to the front side. This keeps the body together instead of pushing forward. Through resistance band and towel drills, they learned the feel of: •Holding strong direction through the front side, •Allowing the pelvis to pull the rear leg through, •Creating whip of the barrel against the front side and through extension.show more

Single leg, upright, knee driving up with load. Focus points: → Stand tall on one leg → Place a light kettlebell on top of the opposite foot → Brace your core before you lift → Drive the knee up to 90°, hold the kettlebell balanced → Lower slow and controlled, don't let the foot touch down between reps → Stay tall through the standing leg, no leaning back 3 x 8-12 per leg. Aim for RPE 7. The standing leg gets a stability challenge. The driving leg gets loaded hip flexion. And your shin works isometrically to keep the kettlebell from sliding off. In addition, the FIA requested to the teams to use cameras in Free Practice Sessions to monitor the on-track deformations exhibited by the cars during the Australian Grand Prix. Having analysed footage from the rear wing deformations combined to the static deflections measured inside the FIA garage in Melbourne, the FIA has concluded that sufficient grounds exist for a tougher test to be introduced from the forthcoming Chinese Grand Prix on the upper rear wing. More specifically, Article 3.15.17, introduced in 2025, states that if 75Kg of vertical load is applied on either extremity of the rear wing mainplane, the distance between the mainplane and the flap (also known as “slot gap”) must not vary by more than 2mm. From the forthcoming Grand Prix in Shanghai, this limit will be reduced to 0.5mm. Due to the short notice for Shanghai only a tolerance of 0.25mm will be added to this new limit. The Teams were informed of this revised test early Monday 17th of March. Most runners have underdeveloped internal rotation. That's why stretching... your hips never seems to fix anything. 90/90 heel lift trains the exact range that's missing. → Front leg in flexion and external rotation → Back leg in extension and internal rotation → Lift the back heel against gravity, that's the hip IR working → Can't lift it? Lean your torso slightly away from the working leg → Move slow. 2-3s up, 2-3s down I'm using a 1kg weight here. Start without load and build up. I'm adding this exercise in my routine because just like most runners, my adduction and internal rotation strength is lacking. 3 x 8-10 each side. If your pelvis is rotating, drop the weight. “Staggered trap bar work is rapidly becoming a favorite... derivative. By using a quasi-bilateral stance (staggered), we can emphasize glute far more, due to the lower starting torso position and thus a deeper hip angle. It makes the movement a little more challenging for the trunk also, and I prefer a rear heel elevated stance to further emphasize the lead leg. The benefit is more forceful unilateral work— the same reason I like hand-supported work. I usually program this in conjunction with the bilateral stance trap bar and staggered Zerchers and RDLs.”show more
