Russian scientists breakthrough in safer rocket design with model... that predicts when space fuel ignites The new mathematical model calculates ignition delay time with high accuracy (within 10–15% error) for hypergolic fuels — propellants that ignite on contact without a spark or heat 🔸The model accounts for heat exchange, evaporation, vapor mixing, and chemical reactions — both in liquid and gas phases 🔸Ignition timing depends on droplet size and temperature; the model accurately predicts both 🔸Larger droplets evaporate faster, but beyond a certain size (about 3 mm), ignition delay time stops changing 🔸The technology allows real-time monitoring of temperature and mixture composition during ignitionshow more

🚀New paper out - We present Video-MSG (Multimodal Sketch... Guidance), a novel planning-based training-free guidance method for T2V models, improving control of spatial layout and object trajectories. 🔧 Key idea: • Generate a Video Sketch — a spatio-temporal plan with background, foreground, and motion in the pixel space. • Encode this structure directly into the latent space of the diffusion model during generation, which does not require fine-tuning or additional memory during inference. 🧵show more

This video shows a static fire test of the... Archimedes rocket engine, developed by Rocket Lab. Archimedes uses liquid methane (LCH.) as fuel and liquid oxygen (LOX) as the oxidizer, a combination known as methalox. During combustion, these cryogenic propellants produce extremely high temperatures (over 3,000°C), hotter than lava. To survive this, the engine circulates cold fuel through its walls before burning it, a technique called regenerative cooling. Multiple Archimedes engines will power Rocket Lab's upcoming Neutron rocket, which is being built to launch satellites and cargo to orbit with lower cost and higher reliability. Rocket Lab is best known for its Electron rocket and is now expanding into larger, reusable launch vehicles with Neutron.show more

U.S. company Mara has presented its Spike counter-drone system,... designed to defend against FPV drones. The system consists of two main components: the Spotter detection module, which uses visual and acoustic sensors to identify incoming drones, and the Seeker interceptor UAV. The Seeker reportedly has a maximum speed of up to 200 km/h (124 mph) and an operational range of approximately 1.5 km (0.9 miles). Mara estimates the complete Spike system will cost between $30,000 and $100,000, depending on the number of Seeker interceptors included. A single system can reportedly accommodate up to 48 interceptors. The company says the interceptor itself is intended to cost approximately the same as its target, or up to twice as much. A stationary version of Spike is planned for late 2026, while vehicle-mounted and portable versions using manual launch are expected in 2027. The system reportedly underwent testing in Ukraine in July 2026. #USA #Mara #Spike #CounterUAS #CounterDrone #FPV #Drones #DroneWarfare #Interceptor #MilitaryTechnology #Defenseshow more

Watch the flawless launch sequence of SpaceX’s Starship, showcasing... one of the most advanced engineering feats in modern rocketry. Notice the hot staging sequence, where the upper-stage Starship ignites its Raptor engines before separating from the Super Heavy booster. This method reduces gravity losses and improves overall flight performance, although it requires additional shielding and adds some complexity and weight to the booster. Also pay close attention to the engine startup sequence: the outer Raptor engines ignite first, followed by the center engines, ensuring a smooth, stable, and efficient ascent into space.show more

Another explanation for Oumuamua's unusual shape has been proposed... The asteroid Oumuamua, which flew through the Solar System in 2017, amazed scientists with its unprecedentedly elongated shape. It is 230 meters long and about 35 meters wide. Astronomers have never seen such objects before and tried to explain its origin. Oumuamua is the first known object to arrive from interstellar space. Its trajectory and speed left no doubt that it does not belong to the Solar System. The object rotated around its axis, changing its brightness, which made it possible to determine its size.show more

🇷🇺 Andrey Bezrukov, advisor to the CEO of Rosneft,... Igor Sechin, stated yesterday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (which itself came under Ukrainian attack) that Russia will remain in a state of war for the next “two decades”. According to him, Russia must learn to live under wartime conditions, and its state system and economy must be restructured not only for development but also around defense. He also noted that two “wartime generations” will be formed in Russia and admitted that Ukrainian drone strikes, which now reach any region of the country, have become a serious problem for which Russia was unprepared. This is a very frank and long-term assessment coming from a senior figure within the Russian establishment. The admission that Russia is preparing for decades of war, along with the recognition of the serious threat posed by Ukrainian drones, reflects the growing realism (and concern) even among those close to the Kremlin’s power structures. Living in the concrete jungle of London, for years... I would watch "Wilderness Cooking" on YouTube, and say to myself; 'One day I'll be able to live somewhere with Masajid, safety for my wife and kids, scenery, good air, open space and a better climate.' I didn't know how or when, only that I desperately wanted to get out from London A thought becomes a seed which grows in the heart, it develops into a seedling of a plan which is then nurtured and worked upon until you see the fruits of your efforts after months and years of cultivating your vision. It doesn't happen overnight and it's never easy, but the results are worth the struggle. Today, our long-range sanctions once again worked to limit... Russia’s oil revenues, which it uses to finance the war and the killing of Ukrainians. Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the aggressor’s facilities more than 1,300 kilometers from the front line. The Bashneft-Novoil refinery was hit in Bashkortostan. In the Yaroslavl region, nearly 700 kilometers from our border, the Slavneft-YANOS refinery was hit. Our responses to Russian aggression in the Black Sea were also successful. In particular, two military patrol boats and shadow fleet vessels were struck. I thank all the warriors of the Defense Forces who are systematically expanding our long-range capabilities and thereby increasing the chances for diplomacy. Russia must choose peace.show more
