Cloth Remesh · Progress 01: As I continue posting about cloth remeshing, I want to share some of the challenges I faced during development, as well as how I approached and solved them. This is Part 1. Remeshing clothing is more challenging than remeshing most other types of 3D models. Because clothing contains folds, wrinkles, and complex surface forms, it is very important to preserve as much detail as possible throughout the remeshing process. Standard methods that work well for organic models don't always give good results here, because they often require a much higher polygon count to preserve those details properly. To address this, I decided to use the garment's existing UV layout as part of the remeshing process. Each UV island is remeshed independently, and once the process is complete, all of the parts are combined back into a single mesh. This approach helps achieve better detail preservation with a lower polygon count, while also making the remeshing process faster and producing a more acceptable final result. #blender #b3dshow more

Got the BVH (AABB tree) working with a nice... visualization. (The circles and arrows show the hierarchy of the tree.) This is all CPU-side for now, so next is to ship the BVH to the GPU for accelerating SDF brick baking. It's already in a flat buffer so that is straightforward.show more

Sparse allocation/rendering of SDF bricks is now working! The... pipeline is fully GPU-driven - a series of compute shaders that manages brick allocation/baking in a 3D texture atlas, followed by draw-indirect for rendering. Still a lot more work to do, including automatic LOD.show more

BLACK BEAN CHOCOLATE CAKE 🎂🍫 Ingredients: • 1 can Goode Foods Black Beans, drained and rinsed • 3 large eggs • ½ cup sugar • ⅓ cup melted butter or oil • ½ cup cocoa powder • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1 teaspoon baking powder • ½ teaspoon baking soda • Pinch of salt • Chocolate frosting Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8-inch cake pan. 2. Blend the black beans, eggs, sugar, melted butter and vanilla until completely smooth. 3. Add the cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Blend again until combined. 4. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. 5. Let the cake cool completely before frosting. Make two layers and stack them if you’re trying to cause a little family drama.
