Stealth “unmarked” Robotaxis seen testing with roof-mounted Starlink Performance... dishes. 🚗📡 My brother and I have seen numerous Model Ys, all mounted with the exact same configuration (one roof crossbar with a mounted Starlink Performance dish). They’re driving all over Austin—especially in the same areas and routes as the official Robotaxis. We’ve seen plenty of stealth Robotaxis driving around Austin, but these appear to be specifically testing the network and high-speed bandwidth that will inevitably be in all Cybercabs! The beginning of the in-motion high-bandwidth network… then you throw in compute—the hivemind. I can’t say exactly what they’re testing, but that’s what it looks like. In light of the Cybercab event this week, here... are my expectations: Of course the first official Robotaxi rides in a Cybercab will happen. Good chance it's limited to a certain portion of the geofence, especially for the launch event to avoid any edge cases I think Elon will say a few words. Likely nothing we don't already know - thanking the teams and explaining the importance of and vision for Cybercab Frankly though what happens at the event doesn't matter. It's what the Cybercab service looks like the following day. I think best case scenario would be Tesla having ~25 active Cybercabs operating in Austin for a majority of the operating hours (6A - 10P). I think we all need to be prepared for somehwere around ~5-10 Cybercabs to be active for a week or so after the event and then a slow build from there While we don't know how many active Robotaxis Tesla has in Austin, we can guess it's ~50-75 on any given day. I think increasing that fleet by up to 50% is the most we should be hoping for. I think the survey going around where ~50% of people are expecting > 100 Cybercabs to be deployed is overly optimistic. Not that it can't happen, and I'd love to be wrong, it would just be a stark departure from everything we've seen/heard so far This event shouldn't be viewed as a scaling announcement, but rather a beginning of operations and celebration of the Cybercab. I know Elon said over the weekend Tesla is "about to" flood Austin with Cybercabs, but in his mind that could mean later this year with V15, not this week Given Ashok's recent commentary about why they're going broad instead of deep (more different cities instead of higher fleet volume in each), I'd be more impressed with Cybercab starting operations in the other active Robotaxi cities in the following week or two after the event. To me, that would be a great signal that the validation is going well with Cybercab more generally, not just in the Austin geofence where Tesla has extensive data So while this is a huge milestone (no wheel, no pedals, purpose built for autonomy, cost profile, attention-grabbing design etc.), I'm still not expecting to see hundreds of Robotaxis in Austin or other cities until later this year or early '27 $TSLAshow more

CCS adapter doesn’t interface with the Cybertruck due to... the plastic wheel arches. We ripped those suckers off and plugged it in Wasn’t able to charge at a high voltage charger but it’s possible a low voltage one could work, but then what’s the point? I genuinely think the Terafab is going to end... up being one of the biggest moves ever made in human history to secure the future of AI... and I think most people still don’t fully see what Elon is trying to do here. The signs are clear to me. This is Tesla, xAI, and SpaceX essentially hinting to us that they are not going to wait on the world to give them the compute the team needs. They are going to build it themselves at a scale no one has ever attempted. When you really break it down, it gets a bit nutty. This is going to be a fully vertically integrated chip factory that will be producing over 1 terawatt of AI compute per year. This is NEXT LEVEL BIG. Today, AI is limited by chips. You can have the best models, the best engineers, the best everything... but if you don’t have enough compute, you will eventually hit a wall. Elon told us, the world can only supply a tiny fraction of the chips his companies will need. So this is the solution. Terafab puts everything under one roof like design, manufacturing, memory, packaging, testing, which means that they can build chips very fast.. like really fast. I'm talking about 100-200 billion custom AI chips per year at full capacity. It doesn’t matter what material you build your house... from, when a fire, fueled by high winds hits, it’s not being saved. This is from a “small” recent fire in Gatlinburg area that got close to a house I owned. Took out quite a few homes. The wind just carries the sparks everywhere and often the fires start at the roof level (not the ground or side of the house). Once the roof area is hit, it’s all over. The fire will burn the house from the inside out. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a metal roof…think of all the wood components that metal roof attaches to and the eaves, soffits, etc. Just one spark can start a fire. When the wind is blowing at 60-80 mph gusts, you’re getting millions of sparks. The fires also get into the tree tops (especially of pine) and then balls of fire can also start raining down in clumps onto houses below as well. ICF, poured walls, concrete block….all irrelevant when you have a massive fire coming your way.show more

Last night I drove on Jinja road & I... must say it’s by the grace of God that you reach your destination when you drive on this road - especially at night! Besides maneuvering an unmarked road amidst potholes, you have to be ware of broken down trucks stuck on the road with no warning signs. As if that’s not enough, the road is full of slow moving sugarcane trucks - most with no tail lights & you barely see them in time, unless you are driving in full beam. And then there’s the high speeding, ever impatient taxi drivers always overtaking in dangerous spots, risking the lives of their passengers, and other road users, Lord! If you survive all that, you’re likely to crash straight into one of those Uganda Police Force road blocks that appear without warning. Kwegamba, that road is a ticking time bomb. There are some small differences in UI between Tesla... FSD V14 Lite and HW4 V14. • Starting Self-Driving requires brake to confirm. It’s on by default. • There is no FSD intervention survey, just a voice message. • No Self-Driving stats (hope that can be added in the future). • Arrival options do not appear when approaching the destination. • It does not say “Driving to Whole Foods” when FSD is activated (I hope that’s added in the future as well). Keep in mind, this is a legacy Model Y with an Intel chip. All in all, V14 delivers on the main features from HW4 FSD. It parks in your driveway, in parking lots, at Superchargers, etc. It’s been really incredible. A night-and-day difference compared to V12.show more
