Almost got into an accident this afternoon while on... FSD. FSD thought the FedEx truck would make its turn quicker. When it realized it couldn't, it tried to go around. At the same time, there was a car approaching in the right lane. I assume FSD calculated there was space for me in the right lane, but it really should have just slowed down. I had to slam on the brakes and steer the car to the left to avoid the driver side of my car clipping the trucks bumper. It was way too close for comfort. I have done tens of thousands of miles on FSD and have never had anything this close happen before.show more

First safety intervention I’ve had to make on FSD... v14 in about 1300 miles. During an unprotected left, FSD began the turn but hesitated and paused mid lane. I pressed the accelerator to clear before an oncoming vehicle would have had to stop. Unprotected left turns are still not fully solved and are one of the few situations that still get my heart rate up.show more

By far the most unsafe driving by FSD HW#3... in my 8 year experience with it. Navigation gets confused and takes this left instead of the suicide lane next intersection. Worst FSD critical takeover I've ever had – potentially... fatal – and I've been an OG beta tester across multiple vehicles. On 14.3.3, the car appears to misread round red glare spots as a small animal and jerks hard into oncoming traffic. Had I not intervened, a head-on was likely. Reported as critical. This is the regression you get when you raise the gain on small-animal detection: a phantom obstacle triggering an evasive swerve into oncoming cars. I was startled for a second and can only imagine the shock for someone trying FSD for the very first time. No, the car in the opposite lane did not come over to my side either Again, that alone would have been enough for my wife's solid "Nope, I am not using that."
