Chinese aircrafts are competitive, but time will tell about... reliability. Since we've been discussing Chinese aviation lately, I want to show how Chinese aircraft are becoming increasingly competitive in a market traditionally dominated by the West and Russia. The J-35 and KF-21 are expected to enter the market only by the end of 2026 or early 2027. However, I have estimated their costs. I dare say that, with the current level of automation in the Chinese defense industry, the prices of these aircraft are likely to decrease even further. The Gripen and Su-35 are competitive, but what attracts most to the Su-35 is the R-37M missile, which has a range of up to 400 km and its radar irbis-E Reaching also 400km. It operationally both reaches 350 km would be already significant advantage without analogous. Western aviation remains expensive, and in my view, it will only become more competitive with the arrival of the AIM-260 missile, which has a range of over 300 km. Additionally, maintenance costs are very high, with the Gripen again standing out in that aspect as a cost-effective option for acquisition and maintenance. Another advantage are the interoperability on multiple terrains. Values are based on recent deals and local estimates. Costs can vary depending on the package. - J-10C: Cost: 40-50M. Radar: AESA KLJ-7A (~150-170 km). Missiles: PL-15 (~200-250 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$8,000-$9,000. - J-35 (FC-31): Cost: 70-85M. Radar: AESA (~200+ km). Missiles: PL-15 (~200-250 km); PL-21 (>300 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: $10,000-$15,000. - Rafale: Cost: 80-120M. Radar: RBE2-AA AESA (~200 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$16,000-$22,000. - Su-30: Cost: 50-86M. Radar: Bars PESA (~150-200 km). Missiles: R-37 (~300 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$10,000-$12,000. - Su-35: Cost: 80-90M. Radar: Irbis-E PESA (~350-400 km). Missiles: R-37M (~300-400 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$12,000-15,000. - F-16C/D (Block 70): Cost: 80-120M. Radar: APG-83 SABR AESA (~135-160 km). Missiles: AIM-120D (~160-180 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$25,000-$44,000. - Eurofighter Typhoon: Cost: 110-117M. Radar: Captor-E AESA (>200 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$30,000-$45,000. - Gripen E: Cost: 85-120M. Radar: Raven ES-05 AESA (~200-250 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$6,000-$7,000. - KF-21 Boramae: Cost: 70-110M. Radar: AESA (~150-200 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$15,000-$20,000. - JF-17 Thunder (Block III): Cost: 40-60M. Radar: AESA KLJ-7A (~170 km). Missiles: PL-15 (~200-250 km). 🚨 THE RACE TO 6G JUST ACCELERATED. Northrop Grumman... has developed a W-band GaN chip operating at up to 110 GHz and took it from concept to market-ready hardware in less than six months. The new gallium nitride chip operates in the W-band (75–110 GHz), a frequency range that delivers massive bandwidth, extremely high data rates, and much lower latency than current systems. What makes this impressive is the speed: the chip went from concept to market-ready hardware in less than six months through a U.S. government-backed microelectronics program. That’s unusually fast for advanced defense-grade semiconductors. The chip acts as a high-power signal amplifier that can strengthen wireless links while shrinking the size and power consumption of the hardware. It’s designed for military radar, secure satellite communications, and the coming wave of 6G networks. Why this matters: • W-band offers far more spectrum than current 5G bands, enabling much faster data transmission and higher-resolution sensing • Gallium nitride can handle significantly higher power and frequencies than silicon, making it ideal for these demanding applications • The rapid development cycle shows how public-private collaboration can accelerate critical semiconductor technologies • The same tech that strengthens military radar and satellite links will directly feed into future commercial 6G infrastructure The deeper implication: We’re watching the foundation of next-generation wireless and sensing systems being laid in real time. High-frequency GaN chips like this won’t just improve existing radar and satellite systems they’re likely to become core building blocks for 6G, autonomous systems, and advanced defense platforms. The fact that this moved from lab to market in under six months suggests the pace of high-frequency electronics is accelerating dramatically. The future of wireless isn’t just faster. It’s operating at frequencies most people have never heard of and it’s being built right now. How soon do you think W-band and GaN technology will start appearing in everyday 6G devices? Follow for more frontier semiconductors, defense tech, and next-generation wireless systems.show more

THIS GUY DID A SPECIAL FLIGHT TRACKING RADAR USING... CLAUDE THAT SHOWS EVERY AIRCRAFT NEAR WHERE YOU ARE USB-powered. AMOLED touchscreen. Tap any dot on the screen - it tells you the airline, the speed, the registration, whether it's climbing or descending. It sits on his desk. He glances out the window and knows exactly what's flying overhead. He built it in a week, just as a project for himself. Then it blew up. Now people want one. Total cost in parts: about $100. Most people look up and see a dot. He built a window into the whole sky. He built his radar for what's in the air. I built mine for what's on the ticket - using Claude to find the cheapest flight before you book.show more

🚨#BREAKING: The National Weather Service facilities are on High... Alert After Militant Threats Claim Weather Radars Are being used as a weather weapons against people in the United States 📌#Unitedstates | #USA The NWS known as the National Weather Service are currently on high alert as both federal and state law enforcement agencies are investigating series of threats targeting weather radar facilities operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The threats are reportedly linked to Veterans on Patrol, an anti-government militia based in Arizona, led by self-proclaimed Christian nationalist and conspiracy theorist Michael "Lewis Arthur" Meyer. Meyer and his group claim that the NWS's Doppler weather radar systems are being used as a weather weapon against Americans. The militia has allegedly sent multiple threats to radar sites across the United States, openly encouraging attacks on the facilities. According to internal warnings from NOAA, the group has been advocating for "penetration drills" aimed at identifying vulnerabilities in radar installations, with the ultimate goal of dismantling the systems and causing harm to NWS staff. Federal and local authorities are actively monitoring the situation to prevent any potential acts of violence or sabotage.show more

I actually first heard of $RBNT from Gilbert back... in 2019 He mentioned an impressive project being closely watched by the Australian Government.. one claiming transaction throughput in the hundreds of thousands Had my eye on their developments ever since.. Yes, its been a terrible start for the token and execution has been incredibly poor, to say the least.. which is why the token deserves the price its currently sitting at.. But I have no doubts about Redbelly Network from a technical pov.. Formally verified, fork-proof, instant finality.. one of the fastest, most secure and scalable blockchains in the world, already securing assets in the billions on chain.. I could go on $RBNT was always going to be a long term conviction hold for me It’s been on my radar for 6 years.. and it’s one of those assets I fully expect to still be holding in some capacity 6 years from now It's not how it starts.. it's how it ends $RBNTshow more

‼️🇺🇸F-35 Hit Over Iran? What Really Happened On a... combat mission over central Iran around 2:50 AM local time, a US Air Force F-35 Lightning II was reportedly targeted by Iranian air defenses. Iran’s IRGC released infrared video showing a lock-on and strike, claiming they hit the stealth fighter using their Bavar-373 system or an infrared-guided weapon, calling it the “world’s first” F-35 shoot-down. The plane sustained damage but did not crash. The pilot safely made an emergency landing at a US base in the Middle East and is reported stable. US Central Command confirmed the aircraft was operating over Iran, declared an emergency, and is now under investigation. While Iran says the hit came from their advanced air defense, experts believe it was most likely a passive infrared (heat-seeking) system rather than radar, as the F-35’s stealth makes radar locks very difficult.show more

Video: Sarhang oilfield was attacked in Amedi district of... Duhok this morning. Two KRG oilfields in Duhok and Erbil have now been attacked since last night which together produce 40% of the KRG’s oil. This is unprecedented. Following the drone strikes on Khurmala last night, the Sarsang oilfield’s storage facilities, reportedly full of oil, were attacked, leading to a large explosion. The fire remains not fully extinguished three hours later. The operating company, HKN, stated that operations at the field have been halted. It is unclear whether the attack was carried out by drones or rockets. These incidents come amid the ongoing KRG salary crisis, with public employees unpaid for 76 days and no breakthrough yet in the Erbil–Baghdad negotiations over oil and salaries.show more

I believe that StoryDiffusion has the potential to be... Animatediff's complex motion sister-model! While AD is amazing for granular control, micro-motion and all kinds of abstract motion, it fails at complex realistic motion - walking, human movements, cars, etc. StoryDiffusion seems very promising for this + also has characteristics that will likely make the community very receptive to it and likely to extend its capabilities: 2) Appealing base-model results - likely to get the community excited - feels like significantly better realistic motion than AD 2) Modular - their approach is built with a number of components that can be combined and taken apart - it works by generating consistent images, then animating them together - each of these stages can likely be upgraded, used and influenced in different ways. 3) Flexible - they demonstrate a bunch of different conditioning options 4) Likely easy on RAM - it's based on SD 1.5 + authors mention precautions to reduce RAM consumption 5) Built to plug into the existing ecosystem - e.g. the fact that it works with the SD1.5 ecosystem will give it a huge advantage! While it's very early to say - e.g. the video model hasn't even been released yet! - it does seem very promising. With 9 months of SD1.5/Animatediff-esque progress improving every element of it, I can see an an extremely extended version of this beating Sora + running for a fraction of the compute resources on a consumer GPU. Together with Animatediff to drive the micro-motions and abstract stuff, it could produce be extraordinary/otherworldly/insane/beautiful stuff. This is the first open video model I've been excited about since Animatediff - though cautiously optimistic! Link here:show more

About Siri AI and EU: 1. Your data (gallery,... messages, email, call logs, notes, files, and much more) is indexed for personal context, and that info is stored on your iPhone. 2. When you use Siri AI, the request is either handled on-device or in cloud using PCC. It’s never stored or logged on Apple’s servers. Apple does not have access to it. Now, according to Apple, here’s what EU wants: “According to EU regulators, the DMA requires Apple to give any AI system nearly unlimited access to a user’s device, as well as the ability to act on that access autonomously without a user’s ongoing visibility and control. That includes the ability to read and send messages, make purchases, access files, and execute actions across any app.” What EU is asking is scary dangerous. And apparently they have rejected all the solutions proposed by Apple. And, as hinted by Joz, “We will NOT compromise on privacy and security”, Apple is likely not going to give up, so EU users are likely not going to get Siri AI anytime soon.show more
