Failure On January 10th, 2025, a Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-300 (registration N589NW), operating flight DL-2668 from Atlanta, GA to Minneapolis, MN, experienced an engine failure during takeoff from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The crew rejected the takeoff at around 85 knots, and the aircraft safely came to a stop approximately 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) down runway 09L. Following the incident, an evacuation was carried out via both the left and right slides due to a reported engine fire, though the exact cause remains unclear. Four passengers sustained minor injuries during the evacuation, with one being transported to the hospital. Southwest reports that while approaching BNA amid gusty wind conditions, pilots of Southwest Flight 507 executed a precautionary go-around. During that action, the pilots used instructions from air traffic control and an onboard traffic alert to avoid conflicting with Southwest Flight 1152, which was departing from another runway. Flight 507 was able to land after the go-around and Flight 1152 continued to its destination in Knoxville. “We are engaged with the FAA as part of the investigation.
