This 91 year old man known by the pseudonym... “Greybeard” just hiked the Appalachian trail and did a victory dance afterwords. He’s been pretty active his whole life, having mastered many sports such as spearfishing, paddling and boat racing. Aging well is an option you can choose when you understand your body’s needs and make a conscious effort to keep your inner child alive ♥️ (FWIW extreme sports are probably not as compatible with women’s physiology, but humans still adapted to walk roughly 6-9 miles per day)show more

Here it is in all its grotesque glory: a... child (a literal child) being forced into marriage with an old man while her family and community look on as the groom claims his "prize". This isn’t some quaint cultural ritual. This is child trafficking wrapped in the language of tradition. An innocent girl’s life stolen so an aging predator can have a wife he can control and a family can offload a "burden." Laws exist. They are ignored. Communities enable it. Old men participate without shame. And the rest of the country pretends this is someone else’s problem until another viral clip like this forces the horror back into view. If your first instinct is to defend this as "culture," you are part of why it continues. A child is not a bride. Period.show more

Wishing a very happy birthday to Shri Rahul Gandhi,... Leader of the Opposition. At a time when silence is safer, you choose to speak. When fear takes hold, you show courage. And when hate threatens to become the norm, you stand your ground - with love, with compassion, and with unwavering faith in the power of unity. Your commitment to justice, to the Constitution, and to the people - especially the marginalised and forgotten - is both inspiring and deeply moving. You carry with you not just your own legacy, but the dreams of millions who still believe in a kinder, more just India. May the year ahead bring you strength, peace, and good health as you continue to walk this path of conscience and service. With warmest wishes and admiration.show more

🚨What are you trying to show by having argument... with a 15 year old kid - Sanjay Manjrekar blasts Tilak Varma🤯 Sanjay Manjrekar said :🗣️ "I know you have been hurt by a young kid named Vaibhav Sooryavanshi but that's not the way a captain should behave. What are you trying to show by having argument with a 15 year old kid? This is totally unnecessary by Tilak Varma. You are vice captain of Indian team as well. It all looks good when there is a crunch match going on, or something like an ICC event, it just doesn't look good with your own teammates. I think he needs to be little more cautious & grounded".show more

An email sent to An Taoiseach Simon Harris TD... this morning. I’ll keep you all posted if I hear back ❤️ Hi Simon, I am writing to you as an incredibly concerned parent of an 8.5 year old boy, Harvey. Harvey has Spina bifida and scoliosis which in itself is challenging, but when those conditions are coupled with a lack of access to therapy, a hospital that is potentially misappropriating funds, and incredibly long wait lists for urgent and life changing surgeries, then it becomes impossible to adequately care for your child. Harvey had an Xray in January 2024 that showed his scoliosis curve is at 110°, if you have read in to scoliosis then I am sure you are aware how this is at a point where it is detrimental to his health and quality of life. Harvey was under Connor Green and was listed for urgent surgery in February 2022 after repeated pneumonia infections, 30 months later he is still only on the surgical list under Connor Green as he does not have a surgeon willing to operate. The task force you hold in such high regard has not made contact with my family, nor is there any details online of how to contact them to enquire as to when your child will finally be treated. You continually tell families like ours that you care, and you have been promising to fix this since 2017. 2017 was the year we were told that Harvey’s ribs were crushing his lungs and controlling his scoliosis was life and death. Here we are in 2024 and nothing has changed except we now have a surgeon under investigation, longer wait lists, more children waiting, a still not complete hospital, and funds not being spent as intended and no answers yet as to where the money *we* fought for went. You say you care but your actions have left us feeling anything but. We as a family also have a child facing open heart surgery next month and this is just more stress and concern that we do not need. Another summer has just passed and Harvey has spent the majority in his room, often needing to go back in to bed because he is in so much pain. Is that the life you think the children of Ireland deserve? Would you accept that if it was your own child? Can you imagine being told your child has a potentially life threatening condition but that it will be years before it would be treated? We need actual action, not more empty promises. You need to engage with all advocacy groups, not just those that are currently working with the task force. There are very valid reasons why the other groups have chosen to not engage and they need to be heard. We need contact details and open dialogue with the task force so that we can actually feel its existence. We need answers as to where the funding for scoliosis and spina bifida services went. Most of all, these children need to get their quality of life back before their whole childhood passes. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards. Gillian Sherrattshow more

Keep Going, AI Artist The World Needs Your Voice... The world can seem loud against us right now. Gatekeepers calling our work “fake,” comments trying to tear us down, friends and family still not understanding why we spend so many hours prompting and creating. Sometimes it feels like everything is stacked against AI artists. But here’s the truth I want you to hold onto: Every prompt you write is an act of courage. Every time you open the tool after a tough day and keep learning new techniques, you’re proving them wrong. You’re not just making images, you’re shaping the future of creativity. This path isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. The more we learn, the better we get. The more we share prompts, workflows, and encouragement, the stronger we become as a community. Every kind comment you leave, every artist you lift up, every experiment you try, it all matters. The hate is loud, but our creations are louder. So keep learning. Keep prompting. Keep supporting each other. The world may not fully understand us yet, but it will. And when that day comes, we’ll already be here, building, growing, and creating beautiful things together. You are not alone. Your art is valid. Your effort is seen. Keep going, friend. The best chapters are still ahead. With you in this, Keep creating. ❤️show more

The Catholic Church has been consistently AGAINST divorce and... separation for 2000 years. Marriage is not a wedding day, it is a death. The death of the isolated self. The death of the idea that your life belongs only to you. Before God, two people walk forward and allow themselves to be bound together, not with flowers or words, but with sacrifice. The same love that held Christ on the Cross was not soft. Iron tore through flesh and pinned Him to the wood, and He did not pull away. That is the image people do not want to see when they talk about love. Love costs blood. Love costs pride. Love costs the part of you that wants to run when things hurt. When a man and a woman become one flesh, it is not sentimental language. It is a joining that says, your suffering is now mine, your burdens are now mine, your future is now mine. You do not stand beside each other as spectators. You are fastened together and sent into battle. The world you raise children in will not be gentle. It will test you, divide you, try to convince you that commitment is a mistake and sacrifice is weakness. Marriage answers that lie with defiance. You stay. You endure. You forgive when it would be easier to walk away. You carry each other when one collapses. The vows are not promises made for the good days. They are spoken for the nights when everything feels broken and you choose each other anyway. This is why marriage is sacred. Not because it is easy, but because it mirrors something eternal. Christ did not abandon His bride when she failed Him. He stayed nailed there. So when you stand before God and bind your life to another, understand what you are stepping into. You are choosing covenant over comfort. You are choosing unity over ego. Catholic Weddings are auraful.show more

What does it feel like to realize that, in... your little boy’s eyes, you are one of the most important people in the entire world? There's something special about having a young son who looks up to you as a dad. At that age, Dad can seem almost larger than life. He is the guy who can fix things, reach the high shelf, carry the heavy stuff, answer the impossible questions, and somehow make an ordinary afternoon feel like an adventure. And half the time, he probably has no idea just how closely his son is watching him. A little boy does not need his dad to be perfect. He just wants to be around him. He wants to follow him around the house, help with whatever he is doing, wear his old hat, imitate the way he talks, and eventually say, “Dad, can I come with you?” The little moments can seem insignificant when they happen, are sometimes the moments that fathers remember years later. There is also something humbling about knowing that your son is learning what it means to be a man partly by watching you. How you treat your wife, how you handle frustration, how you keep your word, how you treat strangers, how you respond when things go wrong. He may not understand all of it yet, but he is taking it in. And maybe that is one of the greatest joys of being a father. You get to watch a little boy who thinks you can do anything slowly grow into a young man who understands that you are human after all, while still carrying some of the lessons and memories you gave him along the way. One day, he may not need you to carry him anymore, but he will always remember the years when being carried by Dad made him feel like everything was going to be alright. So if your little boy looks up to you today, have you ever thought about just how much that simple admiration might mean to him?show more

Adoption is not charity. It’s giving love where it... has been denied for far too long. Indie dogs are born on the streets, not by choice, but by circumstance. From the very first day, they face hunger, abuse, accidents, extreme weather, and constant fear. Many don’t survive their puppyhood. Those who do carry silent trauma in their eyes of being ignored, chased away, beaten, or hurt simply for existing. And yet, despite all this pain, Indie dogs love without conditions. They are loyal, deeply intuitive, protective, intelligent, and incredibly grateful. They don’t care about your status, your house, or your past they only care about your heart. Once adopted, they give you a lifetime of devotion, warmth, and companionship. Every time you choose a breed over an Indie, another street soul is left behind to struggle for one more day, one more night. But when you choose to adopt, you don’t just change their life you save it. You give them safety, dignity, and a family they’ve never known. Please open your homes, not your wallets. Adopt. Don’t shop. Give an Indie dog a chance they will give you their whole life in return. #AdoptDontBuy #dogsshow more

Want your child to take an interest in literacy?... Remember that in child development you reap what you sow. Daily reading (ideally configured face-to-face) is a wonderful way to plant the seeds of language and literacy with your baby from their earliest days. Not only will reading together substantially boost your child’s vocabulary over time, but it illustrates a powerful lesson: this is something YOU value and enjoy. And as I’ve written a thousand times, your baby wants nothing more than to be just like you. Don’t be discouraged as you get started. Infants have very short attention spans and will initially spend more time attuned to you than the book (hence the face to face), and may seek to explore books first with their mouths (which is why sturdy, laminated board books are a great first choice). Don’t let any of this deter you. Start small. But start. And make reading a part of your daily routine. As this lovely video shared to IG by sophia.s.playroom illustrates, the benefits can be huge.show more

In 4 days, I’ll walk the London Marathon carrying... 20kg, the same weight my son Hugh was in this video . Hugh died of cancer just two weeks after this video, which was his 6th birthday. Here he is blowing out his last ever candle. There should have been many more 💔 20kg is heavy. But not as heavy as watching your child die. Not as heavy as holding them through chemo. Not as heavy as living every day without them. I never imagined this would be my life as a dad. But it is. And now I walk for Hugh and for every family shattered by childhood cancer. Please, if you can, sponsor me. Every step is for himshow more

#ThoughtForTheDay Getting older is just a part of life,... but for a Dog, it's the ultimate test of loyalty. We don't mind the grey on our muzzles or the cloudy eyes, as long as your hand is still there to steady us. We don't need to run for miles anymore; we just need to know that you'll walk at our pace, however slow that may be. If you are lucky enough to have an old Dog waiting for you today, please be gentle. Give them an extra minute to get up, a little boost when the stairs feel like mountains, and all the patience in the world. Hills I will die on as someone who has... coached high school football for over 29 years: 1. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to coach, this profession is not for you. 2. As much as we need to know our trade, getting to know (and to love), our players is far more important. 3. This is an INTENSE game, and it’ll never be “just a game”, but it IS a game. Remember that when you’re with your team, and more importantly, remember that when you’re with your family. 4. Just as we teach our athletes to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our athletes better than they were when they first entered into our program. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every individual. 5. Life is complicated enough, let’s not complicate the game in such a way that we take the joy of it away from others. In other words… Keep it simple. 6. Our words carry little (or NO), value, if we don’t practice what we preach. WE as coaches should be learning and growing each and every day, just as we expect our athletes to. 7. As much as we all want to win those championship rings for our athletes, make sure you don’t lose your wedding ring in the process. 8. The athlete that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Be where your feet are. Don’t fall into the trap of chasing logos and thinking that a higher division, a bigger school, or going from HS to college, or even college to the pros, is going to be more rewarding or fulfilling. 10. The legacy you leave as a coach will never be determined by your wins and losses, but by the lives you were able to change for the better!show more

Your baby thrives on predictability. Specifically, yours. This week... I’ve been talking about attachment, which holds long lasting consequences for your child’s mental and physical health (not to mention their cognitive development). Secure attachments in infancy occur when parents’ interactions with their babies are: Warm. Responsive. Safe. And consistently so. I’ve shared lots of important tips in the past. Tips on reading to your child. Tips on play. Tips on language development. But I want to be clear that attachment has nothing to do with the number of toys or books in your home. Or how well you interact most of the time. Attachment is a product of your predictability. It’s how you interact EVERY time. It’s what you teach your child to expect from you as their caregiver. Inconsistency in the way adults interact with children - warm and responsive one day and potentially cold and distracted the next - is detrimental to secure attachment. When children don’t know what to expect from day to day, it creates anxiety. And this activates the body’s stress response systems. Continually. This is one reason that it’s so important for parents to thoughtfully manage their own stress, exhaustion, safety, and mental health needs. When you aren’t at your best for yourself, you likely won’t be at your best for your baby. As an aside, consistency is also why I’ve spoken out about viral social media trends that undermine trust and predictability by inserting chaotic behaviors into the parent-child relationship. Several months ago - if you can believe it - it was unexpectedly cracking open an egg on your child’s forehead. This week it seems to be throwing slices of American cheese at/onto your baby’s head/face. (I wish I was making this up.) While it’s easy for us as to dismiss such behaviors as jokes, to young children they are detrimental for precisely the reason some adults may find them funny: they’re unexpected. But when your otherwise kind and attentive parent randomly acts with callousness - if even for a moment - it breaks a stable pattern. It provides a new data point that suggests you may be warm and caring… but also may not be dependably. And this is precisely what undermines attachment. (The good news is that an otherwise stable attachment is unlikely to be permanently disrupted by one dumb mistake. We all make them. Still… don’t. Just don’t.) Be kind, be responsive, and do it predictably. I’ll never share the kind of videos I described above. In their place, enjoy this warm and secure interaction between storyoferica (IG) and her happy little one.show more

This mean I'll be inactive during that time, and you can tag/reach out to my friends and colleagues drew Marzio and Frank™ KEIENBURG 🏳️🌈 for your needs! Ive been 6 years with Brawl, so you and the community has been a big part of my life! but it's a good time to take a break, think of something else and maybe come back with new cool ideas for the community! I feel I'm already missing you, but this doesn't need to be dramatic or that long, because I'll be back in May 😅 ANYWAY, see you later!show more

Dear Mr. President, Thank you for writing against the... terrible, barbaric act of torture again, as you did in 2017 when many people were being tortured at the infamous Nalufenya detention center. Just in case you didn’t know, let me join many other Ugandans to bring it to your attention that so many more people have been tortured since then. I will list some of them but let me start with Sam Mugumya who was disappeared by security operatives a year ago and has never been released or charged in any court of law even when the courts ordered the state to investigate this matter. I also interviewed his 83 year old mother Ednansi Katungwesi who appealed to you to intervene and ensure that her son is taken to prison where she can visit him and ascertain that he is alive, if he committed any crime. Recently, a video of him surfaced and he has been visibly subjected to torture and inhumane treatment. He was tortured even worse than Nuwagaba (I say that because I interviewed Nuwagaba in 2024) and if Mugumya isn’t released to get the same treatment you offered to Nuwagaba, I am afraid he won’t survive. Many other Ugandans have been abducted and disappeared and held incommunicado and tortured. The reason suspects are not arrested in accordance with the law and held in gazetted detention is to torture them. Some of those that have been lucky to make it out have told this harrowing tales. Some haven’t been lucky because they have not been seen again for 7,6,5 years. As we speak, countless Ugandans are still held incommunicado including two very young people Christopher Gody (King Zale) and 18 year old William Baliza. Then there are others whose torture hasn’t even been hidden. Your son the CDF, has publicized it, e.g Eddie Mutwe, Erias Lukwago, etc. Just in case these had not been brought to your attention, I and many other Ugandans are bringing them to your attention. Otherwise Ugandans may think you only care about the torture of Nuwagaba who comes from Kiruhura where you also come from and not the plight of so many other parents like the 83 year old mother of Sam Mugumya and of these many other Ugandans that have been tortured. Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.show more
