This clip really showcases the difference between a human... driver and Tesla FSD. FSD sees the (stupid) person crossing the road at night and slows down for them, meanwhile a human driver from the other direction nearly runs down the pedestrian. Should the person not be crossing there? Absolutely! But that’s beside the point - the reality is pedestrians do unpredictable things, and FSD is always watching for that to happen. I find this clip very interesting. Tesla FSD 14.1.7... sees leaves on the road, slows down, and avoids them by moving to the other side. The concept of avoiding road objects exists; it just needs to better distinguish what is what.show more

FSD reacted quickly and swerved once the vehicle started... pulling out of the driveway, but a human driver anticipates it earlier from the headlights reflecting across the pavement before the vehicle was visible. Tesla FSD 14.3.3 just saved me from a potential... side-swipe collision — again. Watch this: I’m cruising in the right lane at ~45 mph when the green station wagon on my left suddenly drifts over, cutting sharply into my lane and toward the shoulder. FSD spots the intrusion instantly, smoothly steers right to create maximum safe distance, and progressively slows us down while keeping everything controlled. Almost got into an accident this afternoon while on... FSD. FSD thought the FedEx truck would make its turn quicker. When it realized it couldn't, it tried to go around. At the same time, there was a car approaching in the right lane. I assume FSD calculated there was space for me in the right lane, but it really should have just slowed down. I had to slam on the brakes and steer the car to the left to avoid the driver side of my car clipping the trucks bumper. It was way too close for comfort. I have done tens of thousands of miles on FSD and have never had anything this close happen before.show more

Posting this as a Tesla FSD public service and... the outside chance Tesla see’s this. Yesterday FSD nearly drove into the concrete jersey barrier on hwy 17 as I was traveling to Santa Cruz California. I intervened a fraction of a second before impact. This video doesn’t show the event but does show the conditions a few minutes later when I thought to honk the horn to save a clip. I have used FSD for years and this was the most epic fail. There are some small differences in UI between Tesla... FSD V14 Lite and HW4 V14. • Starting Self-Driving requires brake to confirm. It’s on by default. • There is no FSD intervention survey, just a voice message. • No Self-Driving stats (hope that can be added in the future). • Arrival options do not appear when approaching the destination. • It does not say “Driving to Whole Foods” when FSD is activated (I hope that’s added in the future as well). Keep in mind, this is a legacy Model Y with an Intel chip. All in all, V14 delivers on the main features from HW4 FSD. It parks in your driveway, in parking lots, at Superchargers, etc. It’s been really incredible. A night-and-day difference compared to V12.show more
