This is your friendly reminder to take some profits... here! Days like this, when your positions are making strong moves higher, are exactly when it makes sense to look at what has gotten too big in your portfolio. I took some profits today to lock in part of those gains and free up money for other opportunities. Nobody ever lost money taking a profit. You do not need to sell at the exact top for taking some money off the table to be a good decision. You can remain bullish on a company and still trim your position, especially when it has grown large enough to control how your entire portfolio performs. I still think we are going higher but I expect volatility to pick up again especially as we get closer to the Fed meeting. Expectations around rates can change quickly and a single inflation report or comment from the Fed can shift sentiment. That is why I like having some cash available. When everything is green, nobody wants to sell then a pullback happens and suddenly everyone wishes they had money to buy. Taking some profits into strength gives me flexibility to add when opportunities show up. My broader AI thesis remains intact. I still believe demand for AI compute remains strong, with plenty of opportunity across the memory, networking, and power needed to support that buildout. These are investments that play out over years, and a few volatile trading sessions do not automatically change that outlook. But strong businesses can still have sharp pullbacks, especially when their stocks have already priced in a lot of growth. Being bullish on the next few years does not mean I expect a straight line higher over the next few weeks. For me, the balance is staying invested in the companies I believe in, trimming positions that have gotten too large and keeping some cash ready for opportunities. Taking a little off helps me stay comfortable holding the rest through volatility. I do not need to capture every last dollar of upside to have a great return.show more

I graduated!!! I earned a Bachelor of Arts in... Sociology with a concentration in Psychology, summa cum laude! Five years ago, I started this journey with an eighth-grade education, and even that was from a Scientology school, where critical thinking was discouraged and the quality of instruction was subpar, to say the least. I did not get here alone. Thank you to NYU School of Professional Studies and Angie Kamath. Thank you to everyone who supported me, encouraged me, and believed in me, especially on the days I was not sure I could do this. And there were plenty of those days. To my therapist, who told me not to give up when I was told I likely would not be accepted into a prestigious program. To my tutor, without whom I likely would have given up at the harder points along the way. To all those here who have sent me loving messages on social media. And to everyone else who has cheered me on in person through the ups and the downs of it, it means more than I can put into words. It got me over this finish line of being a student again and graduating. That goal once seemed impossible. To those who have asked me, “Why this? Why now?” I pursued higher education to reclaim a piece of myself. When you come out of a high-control group like Scientology, or even a high-control family, there are parts of you that were never allowed to fully develop. Those parts include your curiosity and your ability and right to question. Education was discouraged because knowledge creates confidence in your ability to trust your own mind and navigate the world. That leads to true independence, and that would never be allowed. I wanted that back. But more than that, I needed to understand. I needed to understand how my mother could have us join Scientology when I was just eight years old, and how my family and I could be part of something like this and stay in it for so long. I needed to understand how these systems work, how they influence people, and how they take hold. Without education, access to real information, and support, people can fall into systems that work against their best interests. Some assume that because they are educated, even highly educated, they would never fall for something like this. But it turns out that is not necessarily true. What many of us are impacted by, but never quite understand, is how high-control groups operate. Many still do not understand how misinformation spreads, and how tribalism and radicalization shape what we think, what we believe, and who and what we trust. Without that awareness, none of us are immune. Today, we are seeing how these forces can influence good people and distort reality. History has shown us that this is not new; it just comes in a different form now. Social media connects us in ways we never imagined, but it also creates echo chambers that reinforce beliefs and justify behavior without question. Real critical thinking is hard when we are fed so much by algorithms designed to appeal to us. In learning and achieving this milestone in my own life, it has helped me take a good, hard look at my own beliefs and ideologies. This journey was about healing for me, but also about figuring out how to help others in whatever way I can in the future. So what is in my future? I am considering continuing my education and possibly pursuing a master’s degree, with the goal of contributing to advocacy and policies that protect people, not systems. I mean you do have a very good point,... however I hope you can understand where I come from. (Sorry I’m advance for the long tweet back) This is exactly what I use to do when I was their age. We didn’t have the luxury of an independent scene we do now and even if we did I was 14 years old, I was only allowed to go to a training school to learn the basics. But I had an enormous passion for the business & if I wasn’t allowed to work shows I’d do it myself. - and I’d argue that because of this I had a head start on a lot of the people I trained with when I finally turned 18 From there I’ve been lucky enough to have the support of friends, peers & fans to push me into what I am today. The fact I’ve still had that same style for now 17 years and this is my first surgery, I think I’ve looked after my body. Think about it 17 years this is my first major injury. You think this is stupid, I would say it’s equally as stupid as to fall off a scaffolding breaking both your legs. And while I’m sure there’s a few people that wished you landed on your head, I for one hope you’re doing well & not in too much pain from your injury. But to me, it showed the care that you have for the industry at that time. I see myself in these guys that are finding any outlet to do what they love. Their bumps are solid & basing is great. Like I said I understand there is a level of danger doing this so I hope none of them get hurt but I can’t help but root for these guys and hope I one day see them in a ring. Wondering if you are “quad dominant” in your throw... and if you should change it? Maybe you shouldn’t 🤷‍♂️ A coach’s post coming from Austin Roark 🚀⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ One question I get from a lot of athletes is whether they should change their lower half because their knee is over their toe during their loading phase down the mound. ⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ The biggest thing that I look for when trying to figure out if it is an issue or not is to see how they are able to get out of that position. Some guys are able to leverage and rotate from that position extremely well, which then I would say that it’s not an issue.⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ On the other hand, there are some guys who will get out of this position by driving extension out of their back leg, killing their ability to rotate their pelvis and get it in an open position into landing.⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ This is when I would suggest trying to make a change. I think a lot of people jump into certain ideologies that you shouldn’t do certain things because it’s “inefficient” or it looks “wrong”. ⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ Take a look at these pitchers shown in the video. All 3 of these high level arms have some degree of knee flexion over their toe. Now, granted, they all have insane levers to help them, but the way they are moving is what makes them efficient in how they throw. ⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ I think if you told Dustin May that he had to hold a vertical shin down the mound, it would be a disaster and mess a lot of things up upstream that would impact him in a negative way.⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ The big takeaway here is that there are no absolutes. I'm laying in my tent reflecting on my life... right now..and I have to say, some would say my life situation of being homeless is a sad thing .. because you see people out there who are addicts and in bad situations .. but mine isn't anything like that. Although I havent had a home in 10 years, I see and feel the blessing. I'm so free in life to live how I want in life. Sure while sometimes I desire a bed to come home too.. I get to have a bed anywhere in life I want. I'm so free to live and explore as I please with nothing to tie me down. If I could share any piece of advice, it is simple do not trade your freedom of life for the chains of society and what they deem how YOU should live. I promise in this day and age you can be so free and make money without anyone there to tell you when to clock in, when to eat lunch, when you can use the bathroom, none of that! What is the answer for this? I know some... people genuinely need wheelchair assistance, and I understand that not every disability is visible. But let’s stop pretending nobody is taking advantage of it. On our last flight, there were at least a dozen wheelchairs lined up to board. I have been flying for years, and you used to see one or two. Now, some airport concourses look like wheelchair parking lots. Cruises and cruise lines are the same. Those chairs are for people who truly need help, not people who are too lazy to walk through the airport or stand in line. Abusing the service only makes it harder for the people who genuinely depend on it.show more

Universities and High Schools have not moved rapidly enough... to guide students to have skills for the next decade. THEY HAVE FAILED. It is a massive crisis that can be averted by understanding what AI and Robotics will bring about. Solutions are knowing how to use these tools and new industries that will rise. But this situation is also on ALL OF US. No “job” is safe from founder to entry level in most industries. You and I, by what we do, will be “replaced” ultimately. What to do? AI and Robotics are tools, the next decade is owned by those who know how to use them expertly, but this is also temporary. We have to understand that what we do for “work” will change giving ultimately a greater value to those that are: Creative Flexible Always learning Willing to be wrong Love being human Love being alive Know history Covet wisdom Knowing all tech has downsides Building strong family and friends Realize many institutions have failed The first four are required for you to be able to live through this period with your sanity intact. The rest will allow you to thrive. There are no true careers at this point anymore. There are advocation and vocations which will either earn you money or give life meaning. We will learn that we are not “what we do”, just like we knew for 99% of human existence. Let that sink in. — You and I are far, far ahead of knowing this and we can do two things: 1) Laugh at the “clueless” 2) Help people understand with grace Go to Reddit if you are 1, in fact don’t follow me because you will not like this next decade and what I post. You are 2 and thank you. Even if you and I have not solved this issue, we can help people understand what is ahead and with determination and creativity bound together to solve it locally. Or human family has done this millions of times. The evidence is: you are here. The Neo Luddite movement has not even begun and it will potentially rip apart society even more than all the fashionable moment in the recent past has. These Luddites will have a good point with the wrong answers cooked up by dying academics that cling to labels, “virtues” and victim hood. It will be readymade for some governments to enter in as “big daddy” to “help us”. You will not like what they do, but you will only know when it is too late. It will include YOU “volunteering” to “leave” by 60, to “help out” CanadaPod style. “Brian, I’m 24 what do I do?”. I hope to do much more here to help. But I do know this: 1) Learn a trade or vocation because it’s valuable. It may also be free to low cost if you do it right. 2) Learn everything you can about USING AI and TRAINING YOUR AI. Your expertise will be in the top 1% for a decade. But not forever. 3) Understand Bitcoin and how it will rise while other things sink. This is a short list for now. We will know more moving forward. When you see videos like this posted below, know one thing: Many of these folks had no real family of mental and physical support. Maybe no parent or one parent. Maybe only a broke system to prepare them for—nothing. This was not their doing. Now it is not your “job” to help them, it is your survival to help them if that is what you need. See some day after the dust settles these 20 year olds will be 40 year olds and running YOUR world. And at some point you may need them more than you think you do. Last week I booked a last-minute flight and stay... in Cabo less than 12 hours to take-off because I was freezing my ass off at home, feeling like a “hostage” to the market. I forgot my swimming trunks and had to buy 2 of them for an eye-watering $450 USD (still wtf’ing at Grand Velas boutique)… And STILL, it was much cheaper than sitting around grinding it out when the market wasn’t there for me. Trading is one of the few professions where you can literally lose vacations/cars/houses etc AND, more importantly, TIME simultaneously while “working”. And so, I often think to myself if I’m so willing to part ways with my trading PNL, then why not just spend that on something tangible. I remember one of my biggest losing days in 2021, I decided to just buy the watch I wanted instead of waiting to feel “good” about my PNL. Our perspectives warp when we stare at numbers and desensitize ourselves to the true ups and downs. Whenever I spend the money it grounds me, “this is what this is worth”. Whenever I’m able to tip generously, especially in areas where the dollar goes farther, I feel more connected to my pursuit of trading for a living. Serendipitously making someone’s day with an outlier tip is one of my favorite things to do. Extremely hard working people who don’t get appreciated often, meanwhile we lose their salaries in pajamas… it’s madness. I just want to point out that I know people feel it, but don’t act on it. Try to exercise some of your freedoms as a trader and realize it’s okay to step away whenever you want and you don’t need permission to just do what you want when you want. 🚨The Clarity Act just made it out of committee.... THAT IS A WIN, no question. And yes, I believe American-made digital assets like $XRP $HBAR $XLM $ONDO $TEL $ZBCN $ADA $LINK $ALGO and others will benefit over the long term. BUT SLOW DOWN! This does not mean you sell your house and lever yourself to the moon. This is not the finish line. This is the warm-up lap. There is still more work ahead. The Senate still has to debate it, vote on it, and work through the rest of the process. Then it goes to the President’s desk. And even after that, the real regulatory work begins. So yes, enjoy the progress. Raise a glass tonight if you want. But do not bet the farm. The rails are being built. This is a long-term shift. Do not expect straight-up price action from here. There can still be shakeouts. There can still be pullbacks. There can still be downtrends that test your conviction. But if you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, the direction still looks up to me. That is why I keep saying patience matters. Clarity will not reward the most emotional people. I never thought I would ever say this, but... I have truly lost all my confidence today. A part of me still believes in my work and knows the value of what I have built here over the past five years. At the same time, I just feel faded. The people I associated with closely haven't supported me, and the majority of my collector base has left the space. I still took it on the chin and continued to show up because I blindly believed in what I do and I know what it has done for me. I never had a Plan B. There was never a backup plan, and that is exactly why I even got here in the first place. I was good for nothing but art, and that is the reason I have always said that art saved my life. But lately, it feels like it is the very thing that is going to kill me. I really don't know how I feel about everything anymore. I just don't know. But I am not going anywhere. Why is the market selling off today? (Save this).... The semi selloff right now is being driven by a mix of macro fear, profit taking and investors questioning how quickly all of this AI spending will actually pay off, not because demand for AI infrastructure suddenly disappeared. The market is basically trading this chain reaction, the ongoing US Iran escalation pushes oil higher, higher oil keeps inflation elevated, sticky inflation keeps Treasury yields high and that increases the risk of the Fed staying hawkish or even hiking again. That is a terrible setup for semis because many of these companies are valued on the massive earnings investors expect them to generate years from now. When yields rise, those future earnings become worth less today which is why the highest multiple AI and semiconductor names usually get hit first. (I don't think there will be a hike this year). This is also why everything is moving together right now. Nvidia, Micron, Nebius, SanDisk, Broadcom and Applied Optoelectronics are all completely different businesses, but institutions are not separating memory, networking, optics, compute and cloud infrastructure at the moment. They are reducing exposure to the entire AI trade, taking profits in the names that have already run the most and moving into a more defensive position potentially ahead of the Fed. There is also growing pressure around hyperscaler capex. Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Google are still spending enormous amounts on GPUs, data centers, networking and power but the market is starting to ask when all of that spending will actually turn into revenue and free cash flow. Investors are no longer satisfied with hearing that AI capex is growing. They want proof that the returns are arriving fast enough to justify the valuations already priced into the entire AI ecosystem. That creates a weird situation where hyperscaler capex can continue rising while semiconductor stocks still fall. The market is not asking whether AI spending is growing anymore but rather asking whether it is growing fast enough to beat the expectations already baked into these stocks. Crowded positioning is another major factor. Semis and AI infrastructure stocks have been some of the biggest winners in the market so institutions are sitting on huge profits and many funds own the exact same names. When macro risk increases, investors usually sell the most liquid winners first. That does not mean demand for memory, optics or custom chips suddenly collapsed but rather means investors are locking in gains and reducing risk. Tariffs add another layer because even when they are not directly placed on chips, they can still raise the cost of servers, electrical equipment, cooling systems, construction materials and the overall data center buildout. That makes AI infrastructure more expensive while also adding another source of inflation. Then you have Jensen Huang’s letter to the White House this morning about open weight AI models, which I think is one of the most important long term developments here. Nvidia, Meta, Microsoft, Palantir and several other companies are pushing Washington not to place broad restrictions on open weight AI. OpenAI and Anthropic were notably absent because open models are much more of a threat to their business models. OpenAI and Anthropic benefit from a world where a few closed frontier labs control the best models and companies have to pay them through subscriptions and APIs. Open weight models weaken that advantage because businesses can download a model, customize it for their own use and run it on their own infrastructure or through a neocloud. That is bad for OpenAI and Anthropic because it puts pressure on pricing, margins and the idea that they will control the intelligence layer of the economy but it is very good for the AI ecosystem as a whole over the long run. But the question is what does this mean for all the OpenAI and Anthropic commitments? so that's adding to the fear as well. But with that being said open models make AI cheaper and more accessible. Instead of AI being controlled by a few giant labs, thousands of startups, universities, governments and regular businesses can deploy models themselves. That spreads AI adoption across the entire economy and creates a much larger infrastructure opportunity and that is exactly why Jensen cares. Nvidia does not need OpenAI or Anthropic to win. Nvidia just needs more people using AI. Whether the model comes from OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Mistral, Kimi or some startup nobody has heard of yet, it still needs GPUs, memory, networking, data centers and electricity. So open weight AI could actually weaken the model companies while making the infrastructure layer much bigger. More open models mean more companies running inference. More inference means more GPUs. More GPUs mean more HBM, optical transceivers, switches, data centers and power. That is bullish for Nvidia Nebius, Micron, Broadcom , Marvell and Applied Optoelectronics over the long run. So my take is that the current semi selloff is being driven mostly by macro uncertainty, higher oil, rising yields, Fed fears, tariffs, crowded positioning and questions around the return on hyperscaler capex. The underlying AI infrastructure thesis has not suddenly broken. We are not broadly seeing hyperscalers cancel GPU orders, slash capex, abandon data center projects or report that AI demand has collapsed. What has changed is the valuation investors are willing to pay while the macro environment remains unstable. The market is lowering the price it is willing to pay for semiconductor growth but is not necessarily saying that growth is gone. And while Jensen’s open weight push may be bad for OpenAI and Anthropic, it could be one of the best things possible for the AI ecosystem over the long run because it creates more models, more developers, more competition and ultimately much more demand for the infrastructure underneath all of it. Nothing about the AI thesis has changed for me, so I will be going shopping and taking advantage of this sale while the market is selling everything together.
